	You won't answer the question.

	Define death.

Religious Authoritarianism Has America nailed to its Crossjaybird18c replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner No. You're correct. That is a preconception. We pre-conceive the floor exists before stepping out of bed every day too.

Religious Authoritarianism Has America nailed to its Crossjaybird18c replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner They're not my interpretations. I don't understand Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic.

Religious Authoritarianism Has America nailed to its Crossjaybird18c replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner That's an EXCELLENT nonsensical question! NOBODY else has come up with THAT one! Well done! I'm stumped!

	Don't forget my guns!

Your generalizing. And one of the most basic concepts in scripture is the fall of man resulting in his eventual death. How is that not facing the truth?

Religious Authoritarianism Has America nailed to its Crossjaybird18c replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner The idea is NOT to insert your meaning into what an author writes (eisegesis). The idea is to try and understand the author's meaning (exegesis). Considerations include, author's intent, historical setting, audience, grammar, context, etc.

Some of the really big questions in life, those that really matter, are in fact black and white. Like life or death. Given a long enough timeline, you and I will eventually achieve room temperature. There will be no in between.

Religious Authoritarianism Has America nailed to its Crossjaybird18c replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner There is constant criticism of the blatant unbiblical deception and hypocrisy in many of the groups you mentioned. There is a difference between "The wheat and the tares." There is a catholic (not the Roman Catholic meaning of the word), universal body of believers, a remnant, those transformed by the power of the gospel, regardless of church or denomination, location, ethnicity, skin color, finance, background, etc. As long as you're satisfied with a verse here and a verse there to support your objections without digging below the surface to understand the theology behind them, you will continue, as I said before, to remain willfully ignorant. That's ok with me because I know you're not really serious in your consideration of the topic anyway. A systematic, comprehensive, and much more reasonable approach is NOT to come to the bible with preconceptions and bias but to listen to the Word of God in all its particulars, in all of its detail, and then try and discern how all of these individual truths fit together.

Religious Authoritarianism Has America nailed to its Crossjaybird18c replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner Interesting note for the willfully ignorant here. The focus of Paul Washer's missions was not flooding a country with "european" missionaries. I was certainly not forcing them into anything. They train indigenous persons to lead their own people.

Jesus also declared "It is finished" just before he died. The greek word he used was an accounting term meaning paid in full.

Religious Authoritarianism Has America nailed to its Crossjaybird18c replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner That's a generalization and is pretty judgmental about a person I doubt you know much about.

Religious Authoritarianism Has America nailed to its Crossjaybird18c replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner Think he was doing it for the money?

Religious Authoritarianism Has America nailed to its Crossjaybird18c replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner Then you have people you've probably never heard of such as Paul Washer who was a missionary working on a shoestring budget who risked his life taking the message of the gospel to remote peoples in the Andes Mountains of Peru.
-
	And "you" probably won't.
-
Hope in yourself. Until it's over.
-
Oh, I understand that you have hope. Hope in yourself. And your hope will eventually die with you. I, on the other hand, place my hope in someone who defeated death, one who sustains me in this life and will carry my through to the next, one who interceeds between God and me, one who paid my debt in full, one who loves me, and one with whom I will spend eternity.
-
	Truth exists apart from belief.

Religious Authoritarianism Has America nailed to its Crossjaybird18c replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner I don't live in Georgia. Are you generalizing/stereotyping?
-
Because apart from it you have no hope.
-
The model for marriage was established in Genesis 2. Procreation being one of the reasons. That's possible with Adam and Eve. It's not possible with Adam and Steve.
-
Marriage is heterosexual as defined by God.

Religious Authoritarianism Has America nailed to its Crossjaybird18c replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner That Bill of Rights is a pesky little document, isn't it Phil1111?
