  1. The idea that corporations want to eliminate regulation is laughable. What they mean is that they want to control the regulations. They love those regulations that let pharmas control a patent and crank the cost through the roof or the ones that let them hold employees to 30 hours so they don't have to pay benefits. Edit: This area is actually Elizabeth Warren's biggest strength and asset in her campaign but instead she's going for the "free shit" angle and shot herself in the foot.
  2. I agree only because they have a better understanding of what you're sending soldiers to do and to endure over political decisions. Barring that every politician should spend serious time in Walter Reed Hospital.
  3. That's still a second place strategy for the Primary, Bernie's move last election. Everyone wants that fire that his supporters have but don't realize that the majority will choose a stable growing economy over being woke every time.
  4. And pretty soon the things propelled by that fuel will be driven by batteries.
  5. I think it's more that when scientists speak they have to include disclaimers and people take the as an admission that they're wrong. Then if you get Bill Nye to say it people say that he's not a scientist.
  6. This was interesting. It reminds me of how at a quarry in Richmond the foundations of various structures were made out of concrete and not stone. This was explained on the plaque to be an indicator of the glaring truth that concrete, even at a stone quarry was becoming a preferred building material. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-energy-renewables/the-permian-paradox-texas-shale-players-go-green-to-drill-more-idUSKBN1XI1HH
  7. I'm seeing some signals that Trump's defense will be that Giuliani was acting independently of Trump's direction and will be fully at fault.
  8. Republicans nominated the Build-the-Wall-because-it's-a-catchy-campaign-slogan-candidate. Democrats are the That's-a-stupid-waste-of-money-Party as is in evidence by the fact that people are simply cutting through sections for the nefarious activities Trump warned about and still simply just flying in and overstaying visas.
  9. I know, this is so incredibly hypothetical that I don't get why people adamantly say there cannot be a manual override. In this scenario we're talking about will they have to wait for some other vehicle manned by the one human on earth who's been trained to drive to rescue everyone from 2 inches of snow?
  10. Why? There's no reason why a vehicle could not have some form of manual override and still maintain the braking and other safety features that could assist the driver. In this fantastically hypothetical situation you wouldn't want a highway full of people at a standstill who could self-propel to a safer location as long as the tires can maintain traction.
  11. Plenty of ways that even an inexperienced driver could navigate a road at a speed appropriate for the conditions.
  12. I can answer that; if the car can't drive itself then it turns over control to the human or comes to a stop. It's simply a case in which the vehicle cannot identify the surface as a road, this shouldn't be a big issue considering things like dirt roads, fields, areas under construction are always going to be places where we drive.
  13. That's a big no. No sect of Christianity is manipulating politics in an attempt to bring about the second coming of Christ.
  14. Do you have source for that? I can't find anything.
  15. Oh, don't fret, we'll find a way to fuck it up for Canada too. I mean, they weren't with us at Pearl Harbor, what do we owe them.
  16. I think you're barking up the wrong tree trying to get someone here to seriously advocate a blindly socialist economic system.
  17. The only things that could realistically be applied are taxes on stagnant wealth and incentives to spend wealth. In this way you don't penalize earners. This has a conceptual precedent in keeping money circulating in the economy and would TRULY cause wealth to "trickle down".
  18. The White House photographer (Shealah Craighead) was put on a short leash within a week of him being in office. This is typical of the rigidly posed pictures she's allowed to take.
  19. If the question is why someone would support Hillary Clinton then the answer is that despite decades of investigations into her run by her political opponents they've never found her guilty of wrong doing. So, it's then not a matter of that person not being caught it's a matter of that person being exonerated.
  20. Got it. I don't think there's any now. The latest inquiry was another stab at her servers and it fell on its face a few weeks ago.
  21. Are you asking because it was a waste of money or because they didn't investigate the right things? She's clean. She didn't orchestrate a deal with Uranium One, she didn't seek to compromise national security with her server, she didn't create the security situation in Benghazi. I'll leave out the more salacious accusations.
