  1. Beats me. That's why I used the phrase "might once have had". Oh damn....
  2. You're not offending me. Again, I want to backhand people when they defer to wanting to just leave it to Jesus or say that something was God's will.
  3. I don't think any law should ban qualified personnel from carrying a firearm. The establishment should be able to immediately identify those people so that they can take action towards someone carrying a firearm who isn't allowed to. This church appears to have had a good system in place. What I would like to see is more stringent checks on the people who have access to firearms and I think things like military or police service would be defacto qualifications. Further requirements shouldn't take any more than a safety course at a local range. We put much greater effort into ensuring the safe use of much less lethal things. There had to be people immediately in front of the shooter to keep this to two deaths. That's still not acceptable. But again, it'll take 100 years before the number of guns on the street goes down so in the meantime I'm good with qualified people being there. I don't think teachers should carry, there's simply too much going on with a teacher to add the task of keeping a weapon holstered on every work day. But I also don't think they should be barred if a school system finds a way to do it.
  4. I think we're more interested in these things not happening to begin with but considering how many guns are readily available we know that's not going to happen in our lifetimes. Anyway, always liked that modern parable.
  5. Wait. You left out some very key part of the text you copied and pasted:L "The findings, published in the journal Biogeosciences, suggest that forests are growing more vigorously, and therefore, locking away more carbon. Even so, the concentration of heat-trapping carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is still on the rise. "Every decade, Earth's forests are taking up carbon faster than the previous decade," said Britton Stephens, a co-author of the study and a scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), which is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). "The same is true of the oceans," said Stephens. "Even together, the ocean and the land are not keeping up with industrial carbon emissions, and the global concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is rising at an accelerating rate." The increased plant growth in global forests could be due to several factors, including higher concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, warmer temperatures and increased availability of nitrogen." Again, we don't care about the upside of increased plant growth as it pales in comparison to the effects of rising global temperatures.
  6. And by the way, I'd share the same comments with you if we were talking one on one about Jesus not taking the wheel but I thought this could go downhill fast.
  7. I hear you. This whole thing is nothing short of fucking mind boggling and the crossroads of guns and Jesus makes you just throw your hands up in despair. I get your train of thought. As for the event itself I've seen people celebrating it as a win for lessening gun control. There's no win here. Two victims dead and there's still nothing stopping two more from getting killed tomorrow.
  8. Let's stop this train of commentary.
  9. Not interested in Jesus but Merry Christmas.
  10. Using reason I can tell you that a person who becomes the President of the United States is going to become wealthy. What's the mystery?
  11. You're the one who began posting that as your proof that nothing is changing which is weird because it's a graph showing how we've experienced the hottest 10 years on record within a remarkably short time.
  12. Nov world temps are in and we continue as the 2nd hottest on record with land and sea temps and hottest on record air temps. Of note is that sea temps lag partially because the oceans in some regions are being cooled by the melting ice sheets. In addition, we're about to bump out 2009 once we get into January which means that with the exception of 1998 all top 10 hottest years are 2010 or later. But anyway, a marginal increase in plant growth from elevated CO2 is well worth it, right? https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/global/201911/supplemental/page-1
  13. Um...It's not exactly a secret. You can type it into google. Oh. Blowjob joke.
  14. I disagree. The inherent issue in this is that there's no avenue except by impeachment to investigate a President for an alleged wrongdoing. I think you know very well that if it appeared as though Obama had done this the Republicans would investigate it via this same avenue. That has nothing to do with whether you or I or anyone thinks or knows that he did it or should be removed from office for it. Simply put, it had to be investigated. We can all agree that if it appears as though a President has attempted to use foreign aid or diplomacy to get a foreign leader to make negative remarks about a political opponent we very much need to look into it.

    Epoch Times?

I got sick of it when the trend started of people playing 5 screens at once and doing nothing until they went all in on pairs. You knew who they were because they always missed their turn until their timer started going off and gameplay would completely drag.
  16. I hear you and I know some running events to that but they do it because everyone is running together anyway. You have Open, Men's, Women's, Age brackets, etc. The problem with team sports is that you'll have the top 5% of women making onto the team, maybe a few of those women actually getting on the field and then you've eliminated the professional path for 95% of female athletes because they're not going to have a women's league in which the best 5% of women aren't even there. People show up to see the stars, not to see the second best.

    Epoch Times?

Did you used to get on the DZ.com poker games way back when. I think Billy Vance put it together. I used to play a lot of online poker. Was fun for a while.
  18. I'm sorry to say but if your margin tipped towards failure is $1 per employee hour then you're already terrible at business. I've been involved in many restaurants on the side of design and construction and I can say with confidence that independent restaurant owners are the absolute worst at business. I've seen them get cancelled mid-construction because the owner was clueless about what they were trying to do.

    Russiagate

Looks like we're already seeing signs of the Russian influence farms starting up for 2020. It has been PROVEN that parties from within Russia led a campaign to discredit the US Ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yavonovich. Trump was fooled by this and fired her, meaning again that Russian influence has affected the decision making of our President. The actual report from Graphika: https://graphika.com/uploads/Graphika Report - UK Trade Leaks & Secondary Infektion.pdf
  20. Spot on. I keep having conversations with my friends when they say, "Compare him to Hillary and what SHE did!" No, you mean what she was accused of doing, was investigated for and found to have not done or was accused of doing and it was so threadbare there wasn't even anything to investigate. In the meantime Trump ACTUALLY did that thing that you said was so horrendous of an act that it's why you said you wouldn't vote for Hillary.
  21. Apparently there are a quantity of electrically powered watercraft. Will be interesting to see that develop. I grew up with load boat and louder jet skiis.
  22. We'll definitely need to figure out where that comes from. Fuel tax is supposed to represent direct usage and everyone is OK with that because the more you use the road the more you pay because the more wear and tear you put on the road.
