I too, have problems with slow openings. As in I've gotten a lot of practice paying attention to my altimeter while watching the snivel. For CRW I'll even pull the slider down the lines a bit (but inside the D-bag), unroll the tail and go with extra small stows. I wouldn't do this for terminal, it still wouldn't cause a hard opening on this particular canopy (Paraflite Turbo ZX 185, good first canopy), it just wouldn't be on heading. It's very consistent in how long it takes, so I'm not worried about it as a safety issue, I know I have to pull a little higher. The first thing I do when I get upright is to grab the risers and shake it around and that really doesn't seem to affect how long it takes. -Doug "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

He wasn't saying anything condescending about female's at all, just the propensity for guys to think with their penises. Also, it may not even be that they're trying to "get some" but just that they're trying to be cool with the chicks. You KNOW that females is where the center of attention is in any social setting. Dear Conservative @#$hole, Just kidding. I'm guessing that you were referring to me as the one with one crw jump, not Chris... Don't worry, I'm in good hands. Haven't gone to crw camp yet but most of my measly 20 crw jumps have been with a really experience crw dog. I asked about sinking out the canopy with deep brakes vs warping because on my non-crw canopy I usually outfly whomever is trying to pin me if I just warp. I've found that I can sink it a bit more with deep brakes to take the pin and once I kick a foot into a line I'll drop the brakes and grab nylon. Thanks, everyone, for the input. For a 12 ft Diameter wind tunnel @ 120mph, 1" static pressure for the sake of filling the blank on my little program...need about 1,193,702 cubic ft per minute (cfm) = 15 - propeller fans (6 ft dia) cranking 80,000 cfm each, each fan costs $13,000 (195,000), operating cost 5,632/yr ($84,480/yr). This is a VERY rough estimate but it gives you an idea of what just the fans cost for Harry homeowner to slap one together. I think the best location for the fans is on the recirculation side blowing down.
