  1. There are plenty of countries around the world who are moral, good, whatever, without the influence of Christianity or any religion. Believe it or not there is morality without referencing Bronze Age Middle Eastern Mythology. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  2. I've changed how I debate this issue. I could not care less what the religious beliefs of the founding fathers were, although I understand by research that many of them were secular and pursued a secular form of government. I only care about the direction I want my country to take and that is a full separation of church and state. Religion and Law have nothing to do with each other. 3. And the shit of it is that this is why he attacked the two hosts: "Let’s say someone came into NBC and took over NBC and started tweeting wildly about people’s appearances, bullying people, talking about people in the competition, lying every day, undermining his managers, throwing them under the — that person would be thrown out. It’s just not normal behavior," she said. "In fact, there would be concern that perhaps the person who runs the company is out of his mind." 4. or tell them they don't have the skill to be on the jump. break it down into smaller groups if you feel that they must be included somehow Someone messaged me a similar thing and I have to say there are exceptions to the rule. I wouldn't just put a new jumper on something big with a bunch of people and say it's OK, as I said above, that's the wrong thing to do. I've seen and been on 8-ways where the remainder of the group is made up of instructors and led by someone with 18,000 jumps. Most have that new jumper tracking, some pulling in place. 5. And, not terribly surprisingly, the video was created by an anti-semite Reddit poster known as "HanAssholeSolo". The reporter who exposed that little fact has been inundated with death threats. Also, not terribly surprising. Not the first time he's gotten his material from Anti-Semites, maybe he just posts everything that Bannon sends him. 6. The small hands thing is from almost 30 years ago when the editor of Vanity Fair or Spy called him a short fingered vulgarian. It has since been echoed by many people when the conversation devolves to playground insults. That, my friend is the crux of it, the President of the United States should not be involved in playground insults. Many Presidents and their wives have had worse thrown at them and they did not belittle the office of the President by lowering their standards. Breitbart pointing out fake news. That's classic. Here's the statement by the way: "WASHINGTON (AP) — In stories published April 6, June 2, June 26 and June 29, The Associated Press reported that all 17 U.S. intelligence agencies have agreed that Russia tried to influence the 2016 election to benefit Donald Trump. That assessment was based on information collected by three agencies – the FBI, CIA and National Security Agency – and published by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which represents all U.S. intelligence agencies. Not all 17 intelligence agencies were involved in reaching the assessment." So....that's not fake news but a statement that not all 17 were involved in reaching the assessment. 8. They had to quote Sanders saying to fight against the healthcare bill? Really had to scrape out the barrel to get the material they need. It's interesting that with 48 hours of you posting this that Trump published a video of himself doing a WWF beatdown on CNN. How do we feel about all of this now that it's Monday? It would have been great to follow the narrative that everyone needs to pipe down on the rhetoric, but that doesn't sell newspapers and advertiser clicks, does it. Hell, even Nugent said that it's gone too far. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  9. That's pretty funny. They used to swoon pretty heavily over Trump so I guess they're in hangover phase now. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  10. "Abraham is professor of thermal and fluid sciences at the University of St. Thomas School of Engineering, Minnesota.[1][2] His area of research includes thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid flow, numerical simulation, and energy. After gaining his doctorate at the University of Minnesota in 2002, he joined St. Thomas as an adjunct instructor, later becoming a full-time member of the faculty. He has published over 200 papers in journals and conferences, and since 1997 has also been an engineering consultant working on industrial research in aerospace, biomedical, energy and manufacturing industries. He works on clean and renewable wind and solar projects in the developing world, and has also produced numerous books, such as a 2014 text on small-scale wind power[3] and a 2010 groundbreaking text on laminar-to-turbulent fluid flow.[4][5][6]" So, what issue do you take with his qualifications? I actually AM a mechanical engineer so I understand what he does and has studied. If you don't then that's fine. Do you feel that an engineer is not qualified to understand these things? Let's take the design of a submarine, are they going to grab a Navy Helmsman to design it or an engineer who is a professional in the field of Computational Fluid Dynamics? How about other complex modeling? Any by the way.... Is he a climate scientist, a meteorologist? Nope He is a mechanical engineer who an activist who writes political commentary for the Guardian and is a 97% consensus baiter. *** You didn't happen to just copy that over from your wattsupwiththat website did you? Looks remarkably similar to the statement about him just a couple of paragraphs down: https://wattsupwiththat.com/2017/06/30/claim-oceans-are-warming-rapidly-study-says/ Way to come up with your own material.... 11. I look forward to when you're experienced enough to give people with 40 jumps good advice. Keep asking questions and getting involved but part of that is that you need to understand when you're wrong and swallow your pride. Don't tell people with 40 jumps on the internet to use front risers to correct their path on final (yes, even when they just turned to final). You have no idea what kind of equipment and situation they're working with. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  12. You really need to stop giving advice to new jumpers on the internet. People with 40 jumps ABSOLUTELY SHOULD NOT be doing anything with front risers on final. kcb203, find a canopy course near you for direct coaching. Go out to the landing area as much as possible and watch landings. Don't copy anything you see that results in the canopy pulsing or surging. 13. I agree with this entirely. When you're taking a new jumper with you there's no reason to coddle them so much, they just got done with each coach jump by tracking away, keep that going. The experienced jumpers should be able to adjust and track a safe distance for their to be no issues. If it's larger jump and you want them the fuck out of the picture, sure, get them to pull in place. Everyone is pointing at the low jumper as the issue in this jump but it's really the other three/four who should have made some better calls on that jump. 16. Instead you gently throw'em out and find them later to let them apologize The Tandem student is better positions for that, I usually cover it in the ground briefing so they can deliver a swift kick. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  17. Edited: Well, you know, originally there were 15. Actual footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXeTsWGPT0w And some Ice Cube to keep it real. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4UqMyldS7Q "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  18. No kidding, they're already amped through the roof. I always tell my T-students that there's not much they could do that would negatively affect the outcome, just relax and have a good time. Jump run is no place to yell at people or raise the stress level. If someone is doing something too slowly there then it's because of what they learned on the ground. You're not going to help by shouting at them in the air. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

  21. Why on earth would you be spiraling or toggle monkeying a student canopy below 500m? by that height a student should be well on his way to enter to landing pattern at right height... Also, if cypres firing in a plane is perceived as a big risk then there should be a frank discussion about weather conditions you will be taking your students after which you could refresh you and dropzones pilots about how to land with skydivers in a plane... Because they're students and they do the darndest things, sometimes the clouds close in faster than you think, and sometimes coaches and instructors forget. 23. "Many questioned why boys were not allowed to compete, and eventually the company issued an apology, stating all 10 applicants had won." That's hilarious, they're having all 10 applicants join them as interns as their concession. In the meantime there's a frizzy haired straight A engineering student trying to figure out why the fuck she even bothers. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  24. The funniest f****** post of the month. You put holes in nothing. You posted your opinions but you ain't got nothing to back it up. Thanks for the big f****** laugh I'm content to know that you'll go to your grave not understanding the issues you post about the most often. It's fun talking to you about these things, it's sort of a therapeutic opportunity to vent towards the populace in this country that you represent. Cheers, amigo.
