trump's Bro Putin, Vows to Shoot Down US Aircraft
DJL replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
Putin knows very well that if you can discredit your opponent on the international scene then it makes his job very easy. Trump is a very easy person to discredit and is even more useful in discrediting American news sources. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher -
Alexandria Shooting: Shot heard around the world? [On Topic]
DJL replied to jgoose71's topic in Speakers Corner
Read this, genuinely read through it, then we'll see if you've got the balls to come back and apologise for trying to pretend that the man isn't a overt racist, or if you're too weaselly to ever admit when you're wrong. You say, in a thread in which you claim to be able to diagnose the fact that the entire democrat base is infected by spreading hatred of the right, based on a few isolated quotes by fringe groups. Dude, you're so far down the rabbit hole you don't even realise there's a world outside it. Mark Levin ran with that last week. He grabbed every soundbite he could of people insulting Trump to use as the proof that it was an issue spread across "The Left". It's not very far off the mark, everyone on "The Left" thinks he's a joke and ridicules them. The issue he fails to state is that it's targeted at Trump, there were only a few people who elevated it above ridicule, and most importantly it does not reflect an opinion of Republicans. "The Left" is quite aware that many Republicans don't care for Trump either and see him as a bitter pill. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher -
Not intentional. If the vessel made a U-turn it's possible that they had removed the contact from the list of vessels they were tracking electronically since it had already gone by them. There would have been someone standing watch on that starboard bridge wing just above the damage. He would've seen red/green on a constant bearing but not moving left or right all the way until collision. It's easy to say that he should've seen it but he also has radio chatter coming back through his ear as each watch updates their visual contacts while tracking literally an ocean of flashing and moving lights. Navy salts I've talked to have also said that some vessels don't transmit their locations. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Your title needs to be "Gear Maintenance Failure". Flex pins have to be completely spanked in order to slide out. You need to replace them when the first crack happens, you need to train your packers to look for the items on the 25 jump check-list, you need to perform the checklist on your gear. Any time we pull a flex pin we see what it takes to pull the plastic off. We've never been able to to do it, even with pliers. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

I'm not sure how to interpret your take on this (which is oddly fitting of a conversation about Trump's Tweets) but I think you're trying too hard on this one. He's the damned President and if he uses smoke signals to say something it's the President's statement. Just because people can't wrap your heads around modern electronics doesn't mean they can play ignorant to messages that our President makes. Trump saying something online is not different than Trump saying something in the Rose Garden with microphones in front of him or to an aide, a reporter, a homeless man on the street. It's a metaphorical megaphone of the modern age. He's not a private citizen anymore, he's the chief ambassador of the entire country. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

You have to remember that the Great Saint Reagan was shot and people still vehemently opposed the Brady Bill. Civil War? That's just ridiculous. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher -

Trump to be sued by Maryland and Washington over foreign payments
DJL replied to yoink's topic in Speakers Corner
Did you entirely miss his FIRST press conference in which he had a lawyer spend 15 minutes explaining how he's not actually going to give up control of his businesses, how he legally doesn't have to, but he's voluntarily asking a group of lawyers to impress upon the American public that he's going to be separated from his businesses. The law under which he's being sued does not apply here. Next Yeah, I listened to Levin's rant on that one. What I'm talking about is that I don't think he "did his best to cede" his empire to his sons considering his first action was to plant a lawyer on a podium to explain that he doesn't have to. I don't think there's any way Trump could stop people from using his businesses and besides his plugs for how great the chocolate cake is at Mar-a-lago he's separated himself about as much as can be expected. It's just a fact that his businesses will make more money with him as the President. He should probably quit spending so much time at his own resorts, etc, but we know he gives zero fucks about how it looks. We know he wants that old life back and at this point I doubt he'll run for re-election, he'll just say he made the country great, call it a victory, and go back to grabbing pussies. Rodman for President 2020. I think this is really the best way to work with them. They're all just so batshit crazy that this is the most normal thing to happen in World/NK communications. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Thought I'd spread some support for Alexei here in Speaker's Corner. I know there are some big Putin supporters who post about him but everyone should know there's another guy we can get behind. Only one thing to do in that case - abandon wind and go all-in on coal. Who needs cheap, clean energy when you can have politically correct dirty, expensive energy? You're entirely ignoring that if we ramp up coal production then by the economy of scale it will become cheaper and the saving can be used to make spaceships to get us off this burned out planet. This isn't the first time. Every time I hear someone harping about how great Tax cuts are for a local economy I just just direct them here: https://www.google.com/search?q=bobby+jindal+louisiana&oq=bobby+jindal+l&aqs=chrome.2.69i57j0l5.6820j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 It's just a google search for "Bobby Jindal Louisiana" and the results are very telling of how that relationship ended up. "...my friend Cris cut away a stiletto 150 with an RSL and he had 4 line twist on his reserve and barely time to get out of his reserve line twist before hitting the ground. That's when I knew I would never use an RSL ever again." If there was barely enough time to get out of four line twists then why would you want more freefall time before having a reserve over your head? You fall a greater distance with nothing out than you do with something out.

All the President can do in a situation like this is say that there won't be Federal requirements to adhere to a standard. States are free to exceed standards in any way they want to. For example there are various building codes, some states defer to those codes, some states supplement them with more strict regulations. Same for car safety and emissions. Manufacturers hate it because it throws their production model off and in some cases prefer a higher standard as long as it's more consistent and puts them on an equal playing field with their competition. In effect it's not a Presidential mandate to keep standards low but just to not set the bar as high. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Ok, I haven't seen it as spin but as an obvious reaction. If someone was attempting to influence the election then it looks bad for the person being helped, clear and simple, but no more, no less. I'm sure some people think Trump was in there pulling the strings or that it heavily influences the outcome but I haven't seen much of that in my news bubble. I don't watch television news, it's a bunch of entertainment bullshit, so maybe I'm missing all the dramatic music. I think you're reading into Comey a bit much, he's only ever said that he's appearing as requested to present his memo regarding the meetings and conversations with Trump. He's not Nancy Grace, his testimony reads like stereo directions, just the facts, Ma'me. Having read the memo, I think it does more to confirm my prior beliefs, Trump wanted the Russia stuff to go away and prefers personal loyalty. Comey wasn't going to give it because he works for US interests, not DJT. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

I agree. He'll say that Trump asked him or conveyed a wish for him to stop the Flynn investigation to which Comey said "no". That's where the trail ends unless there's a metaphorical smoking gun with fingerprints and blood, etc on it. It's no secret Trump didn't like the investigation, didn't like how it seemed to cast light on him, didn't like how it implicated people who work for him when he saw no ill intent in what they did. First off, I doubt you will even get that answer. Second, Trump did not like how the story was spun to cast light on him. But we can both have our own opinions. I'm not sure if you read or understood what I wrote but I agreed with you. Are you saying that the word "seemed" isn't specific to mean "spun"? The election is over, buddy. We know Russia was meddling and that is a HUGE PROBLEM. Trump is doing enough to de-legitimize his Presidency. If it's such a nothing-burger then he needs to shut up and let the investigation roll and be done with all of these distractions. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Those "holes" are just part of your imagination and stubbornness. Actually, no. Time and time again we've completely shredded your "evidence" or shown it to be nothing more than opinion pieces published by people on the payroll of Heritage Foundation or some other climate denier group. So...I'm not even going to give Breitbart and NoTrickZone the clicks they want from us to support their advertisers. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher -
