Thinking you are superior because you are white is not an exchange of ideas Marc. I think you, along with many others in this thread are deliberately overlooking the fact that those in the rally weren't white supremacists, nazis nor KKK members. . . This is something I've been trying to figure out while there were a lot of said groups I'm sure there were a quantity of normal-Joe Republicans. Do you have a source or some data on the makeup of the rally attendees? "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Ah yes, more wattsup. Rush, tell the truth, you're getting kick-backs for clicks on that website, aren't you. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher -
I know many people who think the only reason morality exists is the Christian Bible. I point those people towards the entire half of the planet that have no idea what the Bible says and somehow aren't eating each other's babies. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Yup, all being organized out of the basement of a pizza restaurant. I love it, wealthy people funding Right Wing issues for all of time, one guy pops up and starts funding Left leaning politicians and he somehow has his fingers in every protest on the planet. And the crazy part is that you can still be as altruistic and moral as anyone else on the planet. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Harvey formed during the peak of hurricane season, in a hurricane hot spot. It would've formed regardless of climate change, and there is no real scientist on the face of the planet that would try convincing you otherwise. However, they would then break it all down and try to determine how climate change may have intensified the effects of this hurricane. For example, higher sea levels could cause more damage during a storm surge. Warmer than usual temps in the gulf might explain why Harvey actually strengthened as it approached landfall, which is relatively unusual. Higher wind speeds = more damage. However, when it comes to the amount of rainfall for this particular storm, any meteorologist will tell you that it has more to do with the current high pressure systems in that region than it does with climate change. Without that pressure, Harvey would've most likely continued northward, dissipating over the midwest/southeast. Unfortunately tho, this type of "over-analysis" isn't convenient enough for those who habitually limit themselves to 140 characters or less. It's shortsighted for anyone to look at a particular instance and say "See look, global warming." What really happens is that there are more instances of the contributing elements that cause storms to be more severe or more frequent. I've largely ignored Arpaio as just a far right poster-boy but now that I've ready what has happened while he held office I think it's important for everyone to know more. He's a monster. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Cahoots? Someday I'm going to see if I can start a town by that name. I'd love to be in Cahoots with other people. Sounds like someplace that would be in North Dakota or the Michigan Upper Peninsula. This is correct, there's no telling where two drops from the same well will end up as there are various markets between drill and gas pump. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

A. I think you and RuskiMC are in cahoots. B. That's exactly what someone in cahoots with a Russian spy would say. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Levin, Rush and Hannity are all in a full-court press with this one. They're pushing the phrase "Myth of the Southern Strategy" over how the two parties reversed position over Civil Rights in their effort to discredit contemporary Democrats. This is probably the dumbest point to try to take in politics, the information is out there with pictures of candidates waving and standing in front of Confederate flags, it's in their speeches, etc. Hell, in 2005 Ken Mehlman, Chairman of the Republican National Committee even apologized to the NAACP over the racism inherent in the Southern Strategy. Sorry You try to simplify it to support your assertion. Cant be done http://factmyth.com/factoids/democrats-and-republicans-switched-platforms/ And just to check, can we use factmyth.com instead of snopes.com ? "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Actually it does have a lot to do with the current situation. They all became Republicans. That is the current state of affairs. You need to understand that to understand the present. Of course, the Marc is merely obfuscating as a troll. He is perfectly well aware of all of the history. This thread must be a lot of fun for him. The same garbage is all over Conservative talk radio, fox news, etc. I listen to in while I drive and at every corner they take it back to this same bullshit. And you support the same bullshit lie the dems have pushed for years You just have to live with it No, I know exactly when the Republican party started and exactly who was doing what and when. That doesn't change what I know about who is doing what now. I went to a college that fought in the Civil War, waking up to formation in front of a statue of Gen Jackson and next to a chapel named after him, and next to the grave sites of cadets who died fighting against the Union. That school now graduates hundred of officers into the US military yearly and there's no confusion as to which side of history we were on in those earlier years. I'm still confused about what lie you refer to. NOBODY is claiming that it wasn't the Democratic party who led the secession from the Union. The ONLY people continuously talking about it are Far Right Republicans. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Did you even read it to the end? ""Based on his past statements, it doesn’t appear highly credible that he has changed his effusive allegiance to Donald Trump,” Brian Levin, a former New York police officer who is director of the Centre for the Study of Hate and Extremism at California State University in San Bernardino, told the Telegraph. “The timing seems suspect. I think this is a function of not wanting to undermine the Trump campaign.” " "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Does it make you feel better that it was Democrats who were on the wrong side of morality 150 years ago, 100 years ago, and 50 years ago? That's just fine, let's more along. It the Democrats who have a problem with that. That is why they keep trying to re-write history and project their shortcomings on someone else. The history was re-written to depict the Confederate leadership as kindly people just standing up for their states. That's a huge crock of shit. Tell me again how history is being re-written by Democrats. I listen to conservative talk radio every morning and evening and I know the talking points about which party is at fault for maintaining slavery, Jim Crow Laws, etc. If your party is against those things so much then why are you being so resistant? Probably not base my decision on a 1972 picture of women in skirts. If part of this story is true.... https://finance.yahoo.com/news/h-r-mcmaster-reportedly-gave-051814902.html What can you say, he knows how to speak to the man, he used pictures, small words, and women. Seems like he's listening to his advisers. I agree that leaving the area would endanger it to AlQ, Taliban, ISIS filling the gap and gaining a stronghold. At that point we'll never get back in short of another 9/11 or ISIS level event. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

I'm not interpreting it that way, that's what you said. Now let's move on to the next thing, what the article was ACTUALLY saying is that people who are murdered have a higher tendency to be murdered by people within their own community, for black people it's 90%, for white people it's 81%. Does it have anything to with Civil Rights that people are more likely to be killed by people within their own community? Civil Rights has nothing to do with who within your community is going to murder you. I DOES have something to do with how you're going to be treated in a traffic stop, how you're going to be treated at an interview for a job or mortgage. But that's an instant alarm to any private sailor, let alone a navy trained seaman. Being able to see red and green without any aspect change means only one thing - Move and make yourself known any way you can. CBDR is very hard to distinguish in a harbor with a million lights on the shore-line. Add in some drowsy 20-year old watch-standers who think CIC and the bridge have a better eye on things and this isn't surprising. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

VROOOOOOOOWWWWOOOOWOWOOWOWOWOWORRRROOOOOOMMMMM!!!! Yup, that's the sound of the issue of racial equality going over your head. I'm sure black people living in high crime areas would rather not be shot by anyone but even more-so they and others who lay in the metaphorical scope of racism and bigotry would rather not be the subject of the racism and bigotry that has kept them out of well paying jobs for so long and living in high crime areas. Edit: To clarify your source for you, it's saying that if you are a murder victim then there's a very high percentage that the murderer will be someone in the community in which you most closely relate. That has absolutely zero to do with civil rights if only to say that people are very racially divided into communities. Also, you didn't even come close to explaining it. 90% of black people aren't being murdered by black people, 90% of the people who murder black people are black. And once again the real threat to society as a whole is missed. Do you honestly think racial equality has anything to do with KKK or Nazis or BLM...or passing laws or removing monuments? While that might make you feel good it doesn't solve anything. Black people (mostly) are up in arms about the Nazis and the KKK. White people (mostly) are up in arms about BLM and such. None of those organizations poses any real threat to society but they miss the point completely. You are so wrong if you think the small group of Nazis and KKK represent the majority of white people, or BLM represents the majority of black people. Why do I even bother? First, do you realize that you just tried to say that 90% of black people die being murdered by other black people. Let's clear that up before you wax intellectual superiority.
