  1. Ha ha! What the hell? These are all pretty good, the dreams I have are never this interesting. I just fall... forever... never pull.... and never reach the ground.
  2. Besides... having a slightly ripped up car is quite liberating. I'd never want to own a car that didn't need duct tape or tie wraps to hold it together. Would be too worried about keeping it in perfect condition... too much trouble. But you Chris... you are now free! Free to park in that half space between the extended cab pickup trucks. Free to sideswipe those concrete pillars at the McDonnald's drive thru. Free to fling open your driver's side door into that annoying dog that's running down the street along side of you. Free to park with your front bumper in contact with the outside wall of the grocery store (Rule #1... you're not there until you hit something.)
  3. Oh come on... it's not that bad! Some of that crap had me rollin' on the floor. Squirrel attacks... Rabbits humping in the theater... Grim Reaper following people and checking his watch... That big cell phone is cool too. Hey... it's better than Beat the Geeks for damn sure.
  4. Too funny :) Sounds a little bit like my (and alot of y'alls I bet too
  5. My tandem instructor pointed a bit out below the horizon on my first jump... so I take a look and see a couple thin, whispy looking clouds ahead and below us... then at eye level... then back up against the sky where they belong. Wow
  6. Sibrel sounds like the persistant type... next time 'ol Aldrin might have to go for the balls and really drive the point home. I heard that Buzz really didn't hit him anyway, Bart was struck with a transparency of his fist.
  7. Sorry, didn't mean to make it seem like I was telling people how they should feel. I do see how important location is. Though I can't share the same sort of feeling I can understand it. I'm just saying that no matter where you are, most people aren't. OK I'm done rambling now. Oh gimme a break! This town is the only interesting part of that otherwise boring ass drive. You'd miss us after we're gone
  8. You're right. I knew no one. I'm sure if I did the situation would be much different and I'm truly sorry for your loss. I'm sure it's much harder to let go when you personally know one who was lost... but that goes for everything... whether it be a collapsing tower or a car wreck. Those like you are an exception Chris... Most Americans don't fit into your category. We can put the past behind and move on with greater ease. And yes... I guess terrorists would have a vast array of dates that would be important to them. But at this moment in time I'll bet 9/11 is at the top of that list.
  9. This really another "harping on the past" thing? I've honestly heard quite enough about 9/11. "Never Forget" right? Well after 1 year of being constantly reminded of what happened there's no way I could if I tried. Don't forget, but for the love of god there does come a time when you do have to put things behind you... and that time came a while back. Is the subject here really a "stop being paranoid and move on" issue, or was someone just wondering if the one year anniversary would be a terrorist's goal for another attack? I think it would be. People will (and should) not worry about it, and pay more attention to the blue skies and weather... but mayhaps terrorists somewhere would see tomorrow as a good time to strike. Would make a bigger impression if it were on the same date, no?
  10. Yes, but I never took that class
  11. exactly! Took 2 years of classes then went right out and got myself a programming job (which I should be doing right now). It's the way of thinking you develop that really needs to stick. Almost everything I learned about the languages themselves is out the window and it's only been a year. Of course... I suppose that's bound to happen when you go to a podunk school called State Fair Community College My C++ and VB6 textbooks are collecting dust in a file cabinet behind me as we speak.
  12. Ah good. Someone else who landed their first AFP ass down. Seems like it would be the common thing to do, but there were 4 of us students on my load and I got to watch the other 3 stand their landings after I busted my bum. Tried to stand my 2nd one last week but couldn't get my legs moving fast enough and rolled over forward (after getting lost in a cl.... errr, some haze and barely making it back to the airport that is). Damn I need to get a grip on this PLF thing :). These ARE my newbie days :). I like hearing from other students. Enjoy the 14th!
  13. I think I'd strangle my parents if they had decided to make me a walking talking advertisement. That's just sick. But then again I can't stand seeing football stadiums named after products either :).
  14. How do you mean? "Scoop the shit out and put it on ice" sounds very professional.
  15. So since she is so much like us she can do without a translator, correct? Well, she did slap em with a lawsuit... guess she isn't that different. Lipreading was mentioned above... is that not her style either? 3 ways she can communicate (counting the texts) and everyone else has to conform to her "prefered" way? If we follow this woman's way of thinking far enough every place of business in the country would be required by law to have translators on hand that could communicate in every language. I only know one thing in sign language... fortunately it's the only thing I'd want to say to this woman. *loads a one finger salute*
  16. $58.02 now! Woohoo! *kisses his credit card*
  17. It was on the radio??... well shit on my apples :(
  18. A couple of nuns were riding thier bicycles through the country one afternoon. One of the two doesn't recognize the scenery of the particular route they are taking that day. She says to the second nun "I don't think I've come this way before." To which the other replies "It must be the cobblestone."
  19. Ah, oops, I can't read. My bad, had my fathers crossed :). I still believe his actions are not justified. If the driver (Pangle) were still alive do you think the father of Elliot would still be blaming Powell? Would Powell even be accused of anything right now?
  20. Yes. I agree. Absolute bullshit. Sure, he probably should not have left his friend behind after bailin' him out. But he sure as shit shouldn't have to spend 15 years in prison because of it. And the driver's father wants a guilty verdict to "send a message"? What message? That no one is responsible for their own actions anymore? Perhaps he just has a hard time accepting the fact that his own son could have done something so stupid. *sigh*... all that crap asside though, it's always a shame when something like that happens.
  21. LMAO! This is the greatest thing I've ever seen (no I don't get out much). What about the risks though? They didn't spend too much time talking about the dangers of handling a hot iron.
  22. Somebody should have pointed out to him that having one's heart torn from their chest and simmered in a sauce pan isn't normaly a sign of a heart attack.
  23. err... I'm assuming this is a joke. Won't feel too dumb if it truly did happen though, because it would still be a joke :) Man... in another couple of weeks I won't be able to say "Holy shit" :(
  24. I love reading these! Glad you didn't get too banged up. Must've had your Wheaties.
