Sicko walks into gay bar, maims patrons with hatchet and gun

Unfortunately, we have to endure the moment to moment commentary of this karmic journey. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken -
That's what I figured. Logan is the first airport where anyone's even blinked an eye (I've flown out of Seattle, Charlotte, Phoenix, SFO, and Oakland with it). Last week they opened my bag and swabbed it down, but all it took was one screener asking her colleague "Hey, are parachutes okay?" to get me through. Considering that the aircraft that were flown into the Twin Towers originated from Logan International, it's not terribly suprising for TSA security to be a little over zealous. Did you See Stunt Junkies the other week? John Guetter is the first guy to land a backflip on a Quad ATV. Jeb Corliss had him on the show to do the backflip over a moving train. I can find any video online of the actual jump. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

How can you not like these cute little guys?

I concur. When I was in DeLand doing team training last year, we left the house to be on the DZ at 7am. Depending on how many teams are training usually the first load went up about 8am. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

Depending on your travel plans, Skydive Iowa is the closest DZ to I-80. About an hour east of Des Moines on I-80. The Couchfreaks are closer to Des Moines.

Yeah, but it's part of the "emotional" sales pitch. "OOOOOH! What color is that?" - Well, the manufacturer calls it.....'Jade'. It's a wonderful color that takes on different hues depending on the lighting conditions. When selling something, why restrict the amount of information you're willing to provide? Yeah but going to the dealer or gear shop to look at color swatchs doesn't tell me what your canopy looks like. (the royal you) The photo told me right away that "jade" on this parachute looks more like a light blue than anything. Jade should be more green than turquise or light blue. At least according to the PD canopy color selector they look different. The Photo sells the product. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

2006 SIM Section 5-2 A.1. and 4. You should show up to a USPA DZ prepared to perform points one and four. Depending on the DZ, Instructor and how prepared you are there may not be a fee beyond the one jump.

Quote from the article: The fall of the House of Saud seems the most far-fetched of the six possibilities, and it's the one that generates that $262 a barrel. Oil prices are highly unlikely to reach the chicken little price of $262. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

Stall Surge on Tandems (or sport rigs)
Samurai136 replied to crazydiver's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Keep in mind that flight characteristics of parachutes do not scale. Most of my tandem piloting experience is on the SET. Comparing the piloting techiniques of a SET loaded (usually) 1:1 to 1.2:1 (fatboys, heavily loaded) is totally different from piloting any other parachute at the same wingloading. I'm wondering how you guys are comparing "high performance techniques" on a tandem loaded maybe 1.2:1 to "high performance techniques" on a sport parachute that is 4 times smaller and loaded twice as much. They're totally different. Generally speaking, tandem mains are trimmed to fly very flat compared to a sport parachute. That's one factor in why the "stall/surge" technique works. Although, I've never thought of it a proper stall. It's more of a deep-brake flat turn/ "sinking it in" technique than a stall. Usually to stall a tandem, you need the passenger to pull the toggles down to their knees and hold it there. The "stall/ surge" landing technique never really gets there. Probably the same place that sells an ugly ass canopy as a standard option? "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken
