  1. Yup...same here. I'm not exactly proud of it but we have great packers. One in particular who I'm REALLY going to miss since she's going back to Canada soon. You guys are nuts. At six bucks a pack job, that is a jump wasted for every 3 pack jobs! Once you learn it, you can do it quick and pack it just the way you want so you get a consistently good opening. Yeah, I know. Actually its more just that I'm lazy. I really do need to start packing for myself though. My packer is leaving and I have to save up $ for a house. Ugh...probably won't be jumping much anyway. 2. Ok, I don't have any good shots of me for the other threads but I actually DO have one of my butt! That's what I get for letting a friend play with my new camera. Found one of just my legs too. Maybe one of these days I'll actually get one of my face. BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!

  5. Yep, I have the mini VooDoo that came with & matches my bf's rig. I know Wings makes them too, saw it on their website. I think they're all roughly $50 each but it varies a little by manufacturer. I'm still thinking of getting my kids little Wings backbacks to match my rig. They'll be the coolest kids at daycare! There's this kid at my DZ (about 4 years old) who runs around wearing a mini rig with his jammies (as a jumpsuit) an old altimiter and a toy parachute. He's at the DZ more than I am! (And makes more "jumps" than I do too...just ask him!) BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  6. I took a somewhat similar break. I started jumping, had 15 jumps (obviously no license) and then had to stop jumping for 2 years. (Pregnant with twins) Anyway, when I started jumping again last summer. I took ground school and did 2 modified level 4 jumps with an instructor. I was cleared to jump on my own. By choice, my next 6-7 jumps were with coaches. (Some Skydive U, some not) If you are able to get to a DZ where you can get in the air and keep jumping, that's great. I'm at Cross Keys so that's what I did. The tunnel time is nice and I'm sure you can work on some skills but it won't technically get you current again. This time I've been out all summer from knee surgery but with a license and only being out a few months its a lot easier. Congrats to being able to jump again and go get that A ASAP!! 7. I usually wimp out when it starts getting too cold and I stop jumping till Spring. This year I had knee surgery so I missed the whole Summer. I'm just starting to jump again this weekend! There are plenty of people crazy enough to jump in the cold & snow...I may be one of them this year. Definitely wear layers and WARM gloves. See ya there! BettyAnn Getting married? 8. Vanilla Coke for me. I rarely drink soda but you'd have to tie me down to get me to drink Pepsi. YUK!! Hey, I like the new avitar. I'll take a better one next time if you don't make me chase you to get it! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  9. Here's the earlier thread on the show. Race to the Alter The couple trying to win their wedding would be Ethan and Carolyn from Cross Keys, NJ. This is what the show is all about. Details They were finally a power couple this week! Only a few shows left and Ethan's still keeping quiet. He did let us in on some pretty funny things that happen behind the scenes. Shame they can't get it all on TV for us! They'll be back again next Saturday night at 9pm Eastern time. BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!

    Not boring job

My feelings exactly! I work in the main office of one of those telemarketing companies. You know...the ones who call you during dinner and ask you a million survey qns?! Yep, I get to write those questions they read to you. I'm so bored out of my mind! I sit in a cubicle and stare at the walls all day. It never gets any more interesting than this. Of course my BF works at Square 3 so while I'm bored out of my mind he's at the DZ!! At least I got a nice discount on my new canopy though. BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  11. I don't think I even have any recent pics. (I'm kinda camera shy.) I know I don't have any at work but I'll look when I get home. BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  12. You're not a schmuck, you were being nice and trying to be helpful. At least you found out before you gave up your gear to her! Hey, my first flaming thread! Ha ha! So...do I owe her a beer for being the subject? HA! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  13. Here's her DZ.com ad. BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  14. I was already thinking of that. Count my vote in for a big YES!! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  15. Take a look at the photos... NSFW BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  16. Yikes! Although that does look kinda fun Maybe she's catching on and trying to sell some stuff to pay for rig herself? I know many of us have done plenty of that! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  17. Ok...this is just too funny... Its not enough that she bought all the Hilfiger stuff or the Fullface ($150), Nude Skydiving stickers and jump suit ($92) but she also bought boxes! Yep, empty, plain cardboard boxes! 50 boxes for $17.50...ha ha! Ok, I really didn't mean to be picking on this specific person because this isn't the first time I've seen ads like this on both Ebay and DZ.com but this is just stupid. BettyAnn Getting married? 18. That's EXACTLY what I'm mean!!! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  19. That was a really nice gesture. Wish you were around when I was looking for cheap used gear. I don't know what kind of gear you have but please remember that the person who set up the Ebay ad has made 1 tandem and hasn't even started AFF yet. I also wrote to her...asking that she please be careful and not jump someing just because its the right price. Not just for airworthyness but she hasn't even started jumping yet. This particular person is excited after her first jump (as we all were) and is getting a bit ahead of herself. If money is such a problem (that she needs to beg online) she needs to worry about funding (and passing) her AFF jumps before worring about buying gear. BettyAnn Getting married? 20. Just to clarify... No where was I saying that giving things to people who need them is wrong. That's really awesome what you did with your truck and Bill with his gear but this is different. I will gladly give food, clothes, gear, etc if I have it and someone needs it. (Actually I regularly do this. I live just outside of Philly and there are plenty of people worse off than me.) What is bothering me is that these people are putting out ads asking for other people to buy them gear or give them money. Not for food, for gear! THAT is what bothers me. I was always taught that if you want something bad enough you work hard and make sacrifices to make it happen. Not just put out ads begging for hand outs. (Granted it been found that beggars on the streets of my city can make more in a day than I make in a week!) BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  21. Asking for help or accepting help is different. I have passed along gear to newer jumpers as I have been able to upgrade. I and I will continue to do so. I simply ask that they pass it on when they are done with it. The difference being that there was no expectation that people would provide gear. these people were willing to do anything, sell belongings/work/pack/etc to get the $ themselves. I chose to help them out. I'm normally a pretty reserved person and it takes quite a bit to really get on my nerves. People begging without at least trying to do all they can to help themselves just erks me. BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  22. You have got to see this! Can you believe this? I apologize ahead of time if I hurt someone’s feelings by saying this but…I can’t stand this whiney crap! I’ve seen people do this on Ebay before and it drives me nutz! It took me almost 4 years from my first jump to be able to afford my own gear. I’m a single mom, I have twin boys and no help from their dad. I saved every penny, jumped barely often enough to stay current, rented gear and borrowed it when I could just to pay for my AFF & eventually my own rig. I never once asked for a penny from anyone and I was happy as hell just to be at the DZ and jumping when I could! (Not looking for sympathy, just explaining why I can't stand the begging.) I know plenty of people who have given up their houses, cars, etc to live at the DZ and pack for jump $! We all make sacrifices to do what we love. It just digs at my nerves to see someone think everyone else should pay for them. Anyway, I just had to share. BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  23. Yep, I know the feeling! I've been trying to get my water training for months! I can (kinda) understand cancelling because of rain for fear of lighting or something. But...they cancelled it one day because it was too NICE out! It was beautiful & sunny!! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  24. Its been really cloudy and rain...sun...rain...sun. Just wait though...now that they're cancelled it will be clear and beautiful tonight! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
