  1. I’ll have to answer this one better a little later today…after I go see the orthopedic surgeon! I’m actually sitting here right now with one of those big uncomfortable immobilizers on my left leg. I flared a little high jumping a friend’s smaller canopy. I jammed my knee & I’m waiting to see if there’s any real damage to it. BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  2. Hi! It took about 3 weeks with the rush ship. It looks great! I wanted the fastest suit possible. I got about everything I could on it. (inside grips, booties w/zips, cordura seat & knees) The extra $20 for the rush is nothing once you've already added all that. I do suggest that you have someone who knows what they're doing measure you if possible. And go over all the measurments 2x. Its a tight fitting suit so you want it done right. Oh, price was $315 including tax & rush shipping. BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  3. I had a somewhat similar situation when my Grandfather in-law remarried. First off he remarried only a few weeks after Grandma's funeral. Second he married a girl only a year older than me! (I was only 20!) A good 50+ year age difference! Before you ask...he happens to be one of the top neurosurgeons in the world...but really...she doesn't care about the $. Oh yeah, he also happened to revise his will soon after the vows leaving her everything! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  4. Just keep an eye on those auctions and check the classifieds on here. Also check in with the used gear at the gear stores online. I can understand if something is just plain ugly but a lot of people have suits that don’t match their gear. I seriously went nutz just trying to find used gear that fit. I got my RW & FF suits both off Ebay for $50 each & I don’t care that they’re not in perfect condition. They both fit well (surprising since I’m 5’5” & 125 lbs) AND at least I had something to wear while I saved $ and decided what I wanted for a brand new suit. I just got my HotBod suit a few days ago & can’t wait to jump it but I’m REALLY glad I had the cheap one to start. Especially when I think of the thick mud that was all over it last week! 5. Good Luck & Congrats to both of you! Don't forget to post photos! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  6. Ditto So where were you this past weekend?? It was sunny & beautiful at X-Keys! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  7. I just wanted to jump once...just to say I did it. I went AFF because I was "only doing it once" so I wanted to do it all by myself. I went there, jumped, then was taken out to dinner by some of the regulars and talked into coming up for the Memorial Day boogie the next weekend. That was when I made jump #2. I guess I got kinda hooked! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  8. The hours sure do suck! Just as you get used to days you're on swings, then a few days later you're on mids. We had to have a calendar with us just to make dinner plans with friends. Oh and forget about holidays! When everyone else gets time off to go home with their families...someone has to stay behind and stand at the gate! Made me seriously rethink what I was doing knowing that I had already enlisted and was coming home to be under the same commander! I ended up getting orders elsewhere and a million other things got in the way so at least I never had to work under those guys.
  9. your ex's boss mustve been an asshole or your ex was in the shit! what job did he do? He's a cop. Screwy shifts and no time off. He didn't really get along very well with the guy who wouldn't let him off. No one really did so that guy didn't last there very long. Oh, while I was in tech school they told me that they would make sure we both got different flights/shifts. Which basically means he's walking in the door as I'd be walking out. I can just laugh at it all now though! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  10. Hi Casie...first, you just turned 28...the cut off age for the AF is 27. You had to have started Basic training before your 28th b'day. However, the cut off age for OTC (Officer Training School) is 33. Physician, Nurse and Allied Health applicants must be in Commissioned Officer Training before their 40th. Since you already have your 4yr I suggest you go officer. Its a whole different lifestyle from enlisted. As markharju said, there are a lot of pros & cons. The military DOES own you…my ex couldn’t even get the time off for our wedding! We actually had to get married at 9am because he had to be at work that afternoon! Living on base was nice. I’ve seen Army barracks and they don’t compare to the AF “dorms” Yes…Dorms! They are just as nice if not better than many college dorm rooms! I also got to play with some fun weapons that most people have never even heard of. Don't worry too much about being in shape, Basic will get you there. Its not that hard but it will shape you up. Do you have any ideas what you want to do for your job? They do try to push you into jobs they need to fill & a few things like that are slightly different for girls than for guys. I haven't been actave duty in a few years but I'd be glad to answer any qn's you have anytime!

    Transformations

My vote is for the short hair. You look good with it long but better with it short. One thing though...Ditch those shades! You just can't cover up those baby blues! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  12. You think you're happy now...just wait till you have that beautiful little miracle in your hands!
  13. And WOW an 8 man tent...that would make for some interesting "sleeping" arrangements Sleeping arrangements were quite interesting. Shame you missed it. Now you’ll just never know. How dare you to miss out on a Monkey Claw Boogie?! Rain or Shine the fun never stops! Just a little FYI…you CAN fit a queen size air mattress in the back of a Vibe if you just don’t inflate it all the way. Pretty comfy too! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  14. Yep, that's the one. It gets a wee bit chilly up here during the winter. Its back home now though.
  15. Hey now boys be nice...you both have to talk to Mutter (Jimbo) about that one. He already called it last week. Oh, my tent is still in my car just in case. Its going to be pretty chilly tonight but it does happen to be an 8 man tent! I should be there a little after dinner time...not too obvious what I'm going for is it?! BettyAnn Getting married? Good Day

Yeah, it did start to get pretty nice about halfway through all the jumpsuit measurements! Then by the time we got in the air it was raining! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!

    Good Day

Yeah, these cloudy/rainy days are getting pretty expensive! Last weekend I bought my new helmet $200 and ordered my jumpsuit $300. Now since its still crappy out I've been looking at canopies all week which means I'll be spending a bunch more $$$ very soon! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!

    AGE!!??

Tuesday was my 4 year sky birthday and next Monday is my 28th birthday! I only have 52 jumps but I have given birth to 2 kids in less than 10 minutes! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  20. May I join you? Where you going CK? Of course! I'll probably get there mid day Sat. Was going to stay in my tent but Wind/Rain & 62...? I'm not so sure. Of course, as long as I'm there for the evening festivities its all good. I'm always at CK. Maybe I'll venture out to other DZs this summer but (other than good weather) CK has everything I need.
  21. So what you gonna do?...'partly' jump? We do have a helicoptor...that works for me. Whatever gets me in the air at this point!
  22. Hey...looks like its only going to be "partly" cloudy on Sunday. We might actually get a few hours without rain!
  23. Thanks but actually "I" didn't even touch it. The head rigger here at Cross Keys (PJ) is the one who cleaned it up for me. I was nervous about using lighter fluid but he assured me that its perfectly safe. It dries right up and doesn't harm the fabric at all.
  24. I strongly suggest that you Do Not Use Garbage Bags for your gear! They are actually treated with chemicals to aid in the faster decomposition of garbage. Do you really want those chemicals working on your canopy while its packed up in there? There are other kinds of storage boxes & bags besides actual garbage bags. Use one of them if at all possible. Yes I know the chemicals work slowly and probably wouldn’t really harm the canopy if its only in there a short amount of time but why even risk it? FYI…Apparently lighter fluid is a great way to get Coke stains out of a canopy. (The canopy being mine, brand new with only 1 jump on it! Right on the white cells of course!)
  25. Nope, the $1 is the "token" unless they actually say in there that you will get more by returning it. I actually work for a market research company and we do things like that occasionally. I've never done one with just $1 but that's up to them. (the client) I bought a new car in Jan as well & got a survey soon after. My salesman told me it would be coming and that my answers directly reflect his review. I got a great deal on the car and he's a great guy so I made sure to send it back. Oh, he's on his level 6 now. Ha ha! Why would people waste their time? Because people get bored and do silly things with their time like posting in chatrooms. ;)
