What to do? When under a canopy you didnt expect to be under?
Unutsch replied to Rdutch's topic in Safety and Training
we have separate packing mats for students and for """experienced""" (hehe, noticed the 3 " ?? jumpers at our DZ... in addition to that, we also have separate mats to put packed rigs on... so far, we had no such incident, but we are definetely not immune to that, especially with quite some 2-5 hop&pops per year jumpers that scare the shit out of me Check out the site of the Fallen Angels FreeflY Organisation: http://www.padliangeli.org -
in my opinion it's not a question if he can win, he MUST win!!!! i'm his fan since he started driving, ehm, 13 years (??) ago in Spa... i watched the race with my father, and was constantly asking him who this new guy is... and then as i got my first PC and the F1GP game, i was allways driving as Tommy Schumacher... of course, the shit he made is really fucked up, but still, he's the best driver in the world! this reminds me on a demo jump to a huge concert on a skiing slope some 3 years ago (i know, i know, not the old days ;-)): instead of concentrating on the landing, i looked at 2 very hot chiks with their big breasts looking up at me out of their tight tops, thus totally forgetting i was near the time to flare... so i flared to late, landed hard, and sprained my ankle, but not enough to not dance the whole night away... but the pain i had in the morning forced me to take 2 pain killers prior to jumping... mmmm, breasts, got to love them Check out the site of the Fallen Angels FreeflY Organisation: http://www.padliangeli.org

[unutsch starts his meditation] sunshine's getting better, sunshine's getting better, sunshine's getting better, sunshine's getting better [unutsch doesn't stop meditating and goes on] sunshine will make 10 free jumps tomorrow, sunshine will make 10 free jumps tomorrow, sunshine will make 10 free jumps tomorrow [unutsch decides not to stop meditating unless sunshine gets what he was meditating for]

I saw a Cobalt prototype, built in 2002, that had the last 2 cells on each side of the canopy completely closed (the same way as r.a.g.e. has)... will someone please tell me if it is going to be sold to us, normal users, or is it just a prototype? from what i saw from the ground, and what i heard from Jaka, the team leader of Slovenian national RW team Hudièki http://www.padalskiklub-andromeda.si/, who flew it, it has even nicer openings as the normal or even comp. cobalt... edit: spelling Check out the site of the Fallen Angels FreeflY Organisation: http://www.padliangeli.org

i to believe that this would be a real benefit for the site, and also for all of those who are or would like to become instructors... on the other hand, i also think that there are allready too many forums, but have no problem with that, i just don't look at them as regularly as on those i check every day Check out the site of the Fallen Angels FreeflY Organisation: http://www.padliangeli.org

hehe, something very similar happened to a croatian freefly team at our nationals in July... a girl's shoe came off during a try of a knee docked exit, and it fell only some 8 meters away from our bar and some 4 meters away from a group of pilots... damn did they flip out, but i seriously doubt if there would be any damage if it fell on a pilot's had Check out the site of the Fallen Angels FreeflY Organisation: http://www.padliangeli.org

Saturday's Tandem Quote Of The Day
Unutsch replied to slotperfect's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
we have a skydiving camp here in Bovec, with lots of tandems each day... and this weekend one of the students threw up in the plane, which confused the tandem master so much that he forgot to strap on his bonehead with a pro track in it , that obviously fell of his head imediately after they jumped out just to put something negative in this thread Check out the site of the Fallen Angels FreeflY Organisation: http://www.padliangeli.org -
i was on a boogie in Slovenj Gradec, the jump plane was a TurboLet L-410 (hm, a lot of stories include this plane ) with a f**** up crew to say the least... they've gotten my attention while we were waiting, all geared up, for them to fuel the plane up. they were using some kind of an electrical pump to do it, but it took them much longer as usually. As we were allready waiting for 15 minutes, when it usually took them 5 to 7 minutes, the pilot who was in the plane all of the time, suddenly screamed: FILL IT UP YOU FOOL, NOT OUT!!! and on the same boogie, just some jumps later, while the wind was very strong and the air very turbulent, they decided to give a try to a new pilot, who never threw skydivers. i got this very strange feeling while we were taxiing on the runway that something will go wrong... and then the scarriest take off i ever experienced: i was sitting at the door, which was opened, and got to see how we climbed some 10 meters above the trees that are all around the runway. but suddenly i saw the trees above us! i don't know why we lost altitude, but we were flying that low for quite a while till the pilot somehow managed to lift it up... and from that day on, i never jumped from this particular plane with this crew, well, no one actually wants to organize boogies with them anymore ;-)) Check out the site of the Fallen Angels FreeflY Organisation: http://www.padliangeli.org

exit altitude: 3.200 m, freefall time: 5 s :-)))
Unutsch replied to Unutsch's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
so there I was siting in the airplane (PILATUS PORTER PC-6) today, getting ready for another solo headdown jump... i was somewhat full of it 'cause i just can't get it right and fly vertical, so i started thinking how it would be to just jump out and open the canopy at the exit altitude (Ace 100 by AtAir) and play with it... i laughed at my silly thoughts, saying to myself: get serious, boy... and then the door opened, the 1.st 4-way jumped out, and i saw a big white cloud some 400 meters to the right of the plane, and again crossed my mind the thought of a hop'n'pop ... the 2nd rw team jumped, and i had the chance to take a longer look at this tempting clowd... the next thing i did, was looking at the pilot and saying: vili, i'll chase some clowds, wanna join me? he just smilled. i'm not sure if i want to know what he thought of it and then, i jumped out and deployed the pilotchute in under 5 seconds... the opening was a bit strange, with a full 360° turn, but all in all uneventfull... but then began the ultimate fun: some hard toggle turns while flying to the clowd, bringing the canopy to a full stop and then initiating a hard front riser turn... the clowd came closer and closer allmost as fast as the smile on my face got bigger and bigger... damn, it's a cool and overwhelming feeling to fly throug a clowd!!!! mmmm, it's been allmost 4 hours since then and 3 anoying customers, but i still have this huge smile on my face -
