  3. hehehehehe i just got a call from Stane (the main man at AtAir) who took a look at my steering lines, and guess what, they are A OK!!! PERFECT!!!! NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM!!!!! Damn, i couldn't be more happy!!!!! The thing is, that at the place of them where i thought they were going to brake, there wasn't a "double line" or something like that... i'm not nearly as technical and a physics geek as Stane is so i understood only some 50% of what he was talking about!!! anyway, YIPIAEI!!!!!!! 6. congrats man!!! and keep up the good work As for celebrations: make as earlier suggested. let everyone know you'll make a jump with a round canopy, immediately after you land (hm, no make that when you get back to the DZ) drink as much and different alcohol you possibly can... anyway, enough to make a puke circle in the middle of the accuracy landing spot Check out the site of the Fallen Angels FreeflY Organisation: http://www.padliangeli.org
  7. damn you!!! how the hell can you fly in a stable headdown for 3000 feet with only some 70 jumps???!!! I really envy you!!!! I'd guess it's the coaching that makes the difference... anyway, keep up the good work
  8. well, i sent the canopy to Stane today and it should be fixed tomorrow, although the person that is taking it there said, it would hold for quite a time... but still, better safe then sorrow, right? Check out the site of the Fallen Angels FreeflY Organisation: http://www.padliangeli.org

  11. my "high performance" landings consist of a hard 90° toggle turn, usually some 10 meters to high --> some 45 of last 50 jumps, 4 of them at perfect height (the canopy dived out on its own some 1 meter above ground), and 1 to low at strong winds - landed safely though)... but i'm starting to learn the front riser approach, which is fairly difficult due to short toggles... i had the steering lines inspected by a rigger, who said they are good for another 100 jumps, but this just isn't enough, and am sending the canopy to Stane on Monday i'm fully aware of the danger of a steering line braking on landing, but i still don't know what happens with the canopy if the steering line brakes on a hard turn Check out the site of the Fallen Angels FreeflY Organisation: http://www.padliangeli.org
  12. uh, damn, you're right... steer - to manuveur or to stear a soup... but hey, there ain't much of a difference in meaning during a hard core spiral, right? Check out the site of the Fallen Angels FreeflY Organisation: http://www.padliangeli.org
  13. this one is for Katiebear21: i voted for both, but what i like the most about the dive, allthough it doesn't fit right in, is to be on a load full of old skydivers who fart a lot, and to be the one who is the 1st to fart on that load, but not only the 1st fart, also the stinkiest of them all (one of those you can see, and even when sitting in the tail of the PC-6 it reaches the pilot)!!!! 14. i posted the same thing in the Swooping and Canopy Control thread, but i think it wouldn't hurt posting it here too: me and my friends had a long discussion (but couldn't agree in all points) about what happens on ZP HP canopy at a wingloading around 1.5 or more when a stearing line brakes during a fast turn, initiated with the toggle? will the canopy make a even faster turn into the opposite direction or will it just plane out and fly just a bit in the opposite direction (since the side with the stearing line intact would still hold down the tail and increase drag)... i hope i'll get a lot of answers, since my stearing lines are in a very m/bad shape which makes me pretty much SCARED... uh, and i really really hope Stane from AtAir will have the time to change them till May 1st, so that i can jump with no bad feeling for the May 1st 4 day boogie here in Maribor!
