well stupid question then.... can you do this with a laptop? i thought a laptop just kinda came as is. i had a friend build my desktop about 5 years ago. i need this laptop for 40+ hours of my normal work each week.... mostly writing documents, some graphics work, etc. but i also want to be able to edit videos smoothly with premiere pro, edit photos, burn dvds, store music, etc. i just got the sweet hookup with my new contract. starting next week i get to work 100% remotely... so, from the dropzone between jumps. hence, the need for a laptop asap.

Hmmmm........... since it IS Addie's last weekend out there before she goes to Greece for two years , maybe I'll have to do the wingsuit thing that weekend. If someone can give me a refresher and lend me a suit, I'm in.

What do you think? I need to buy a laptop and I want to do it in the next few days. The one I just built on the Dell site would run me $1,743. Some of the options I chose: Intel® Pentium® M Processor 730 (1.60 GHz/2MB Cache/533MHz FSB) 15.4 inch UltraSharp WSXGA+ LCD Panel 1GB Shared DDR2 SDRAM 2 Dimms 8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer write capability 80GB Hard Drive Is this a good deal? Powerful laptop? Is there something better out there that you would recommend? Is there a cheaper way to get my hands on this? I need it for work AND for video editing and crap. So I wanted to get something pretty decent. Help!

Stay safe, Mango Mike mike, you are definately one of those few!!!! and actually, i don't really feel that way. i for one am not that bitter. usually if a relationship doesn't work out, it just means we didn't click or we had different priorities at the time. luckily, i still believe there is someone out there for everyone.

For sure golf is up there. I find womens tennis better than mens tennis. At least in the womens the game they rally a bit. The mens game is all power with hardly any rallys. Now that's boring ... you just like the way the women grunt when they hit the ball. admit it.

tandem ==> tandem ==> static line why? because nobody at the first two dropzones clued me into the student program. i didn't know i had options. tecumseh was great about that. as soon as they found out i had already done two tandems, they told me to screw it and do static line. i'm very thankful for that. now i make a point to talk to students after their tandems and explain the programs to them. there is nothing worse than a tandem factory.

How do you feel when you see a new thread pop up in Incidents

I hate the incidents forum. I check it every Sunday night and then again on Monday. I only read the thread titles, and maybe the first few posts, to see who, where, and if there is anything that can be learned from it. After the first few posts, most of it is flooded with obnoxious opinions from people who weren't even there. Unfortunatly, several times, the incidents forum has been the first alert I've had to something going wrong with someone I know. -
Lately all my time has been spent filming interviews for student videos. I used to keep an MP3 player in the pocket of my freefly pants. Naps are always good. And, there is always some retarded conversation going on to take part in.

Doesn't seam like that would protect your gear much from the heat. What do you think? That's one of my big concerns. When I'm travelling or my stuff is sitting in a hot car for a few hours, I don't want to have to worry so much.
