I stopped logging in my book after each jump, 100s of jumps ago. Instead I run what I call a "pocket log". At the beginning of each day, I grab a peice of scrap paper and slip it in my freefly pants pocket. I jot down "H&P 7,500" or "FF 13,500 w/ so and so" or "Tandem V/S". Then at the end of the weekend, usually, if I remember, I transfer all of them to one page in my logbook. I have a feeling even this won't last much longer. Logging is just a pain. You can always ask manifest to print out a jump log for you.

I thought you already said goodnight! Just kidding. Nice cake dude.

we throw a lot of shoes and play poker. orange has a great after-hours setup. big screen for movies, fooseball table, horshoe pit, tiki bar, huge bonfire pit, etc. not many dull moments at that dz.

Thanks! Just a Canon Rebel 2000, with a 35-80mm lens.

Hey Fast... don't worry about it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. There are a huge number of dropzones that are GREAT that except those certificates. I'm just looking at things from the perspective of a fun jumper who hates the politics. I judge a dropzone based on the people, the quality of jumps, the aircraft, and the view, amongst other things. If I decided to NOT jump at any dropzone that accepts those certificates, I probably wouldn't be jumping much.

Pete!!! Hey, kid! I miss you! Thanks for the compliment. How are things going with you up at Tecumseh??
-
BTW... on a lighter note.... thanks for drawing more attention to my pictures!

Now wait just a second. I have no clue, so correct me if I'm wrong, as I live in Virginia and was just visiting. But aren't you saying that YOUR dropzone accepted skyride until someone else made a better deal with them?? Wouldn't that mean that your dropzone also made money and received business from skyride. I fail to see the difference. What makes one dropzone more guilty than the other??

Andre Pieterse. And I know you know that. Grrrr... this is annoying. So, it's a great dz. I had fun. Made lots of fun jumps. Helped out on staff for a week. Nice view. Met and partied with some great people. Let's get over this, people. Look at the pictures again.... that was a sweet skydive. That's all I really care about. Finding cool people to jump with in cool places. It was nice to meet you, Andy. I wasn't up there long enough to deal with politics (thank God!). I was just the recipient of some great hospitality and a very fun vacation. Hope we all get to make some jumps together sometime. Peace.

Well, that's funny. When I was there all the staff were fun jumping with us. And Andre even put up extra loads that were light after the work was done so we could play some more. The airplane is owned by the dropzone... not by skyride. Maybe you are confused.

Ignore the Skyride bullshit. That dropzone is great. It's full of really nice real people, who love the sport, and are trying to start up something cool. They are growing fast and having fun while doing it. I doubt that number is even remotely accurate. Most of their students come from their own advertising... a billboard that they have sitting on the side of the Interstate. Lots of people drive by and see them since the end of the runway is right their on the highway. The view is gorgeous and they have a really nice KingAir. Don't listen to the political trash talk. Check it out yourself. I do not think you will be disappointed. I personally can't stand Skyride... like most folks. This is a good dropzone with good people.

Yup. That was me.

I love that f*cking squirrel!

Thanks, McCarty!

Here are a few pictures I shot a couple of weeks ago at Skydive Midwest. Unfortunately it was a crappy day for stills and I probably didn't have the best setting on my camera, but I still like em.

That movie SUCKED! Don't waste your money! A bunch of us went Saturday afternoon since the weather crapped out at the dz. One person in our group even walked out 1/2 way through it. The rest of us suffered and stuck it out. It was terrible.

5; 12; 3 5 hours of poker last night nearly killed me.

That is the best thing I've read on bonfire in a month! GROSE! Yeah... she should have had to buy two seats. OMG... the poor kid who had to sit next to her! -
PMing you now. Thanks for your words on Mark. I'm sure you will find a lot of good footage from the Tecumseh crowd. He was well loved by all.

I think you stole his old picture. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?username=OrangeJumper;

OMG! that is SOOO true! I was just thinking the same thing when I saw his picture. In fact, it freaked me out that it wasn't Jason. Carry on with the drama stuff.
