ZHILLS: bring your money and hide your kids and animals....

but ya see, that's how we made so much money with it. the question was: do you wanna see these guys make a lingerie jump? vote "YES" (i wanna see 'em jump in lingerie) or "NO" (for the love of god keep your clothes on!!) you voted with money. the yes votes still won. but it sure was a battle. :) this particular fundraising effort will not be happening THIS weekend (that i'm aware of ). we're saving the big guns for later... -

not just a bikini bottom...a g-string. ...and he continued to wear it WELL after the jump was over. matter of fact.... click here NSFW (btw, the car demolition raised hundreds of dollars for the event...but not as much as voting for the lingerie jump ) -
oh dear god...SURELY you jest?!! BWAHAHAHAHA!!! seriously... i think they might be able to find one or two things to add to the bonfire for warmth. a

cory, you are a dear. :) i haven't sorted out the what/when/who stuff just yet, but i will definitely count you in for 1 raffle ticket. most likely they will be $5 each or 3 for $10, but not sure about all the prizes yet. too bad you can't join us for the festivities, but i'm sure there will be more. one thing about zhills...the dz tries to help out the community however it can. oh yeah, you do NOT have to be present to win. i will make sure that you get your prize(s) if you do win. :) arlo edited to add: mar, the thought of that foursome getting together should scare the hell outta most folks.... bring it on. -

we, the friends at Skydive City are going to be conducting a little fundraiser for a friend of ours that used to live in zhills a few years back...stan gray. matter of fact, stan was one of the ones that dug the original swoop pond before it grew to become Lake Mottski. anyway, stan's shit (video/gear/all that stuff) was burned in the elsinore fire, so we're gonna have raffles and do fun semi-legal things to help him replace his stuff. so far i'm raffling or auctioning off a couple of 15 minutes blocks of tunnel time ($185 value..each), cases of beer, maybe do a tug-of-war over the swoop pond, who knows what else. i'm sure we'll blow up some perfectly good shit too. maybe we'll have another car to demolish...i dunno. it's spur of the moment to help out a brother. i don't think i can talk the guys into another lingerie jump, though. bickner? hide the children and small animals. it's fundraising time.... arlo -
you guys are too much. :) BUT, since you mentioned it.... we, the friends at Skydive City are going to be conducting a little fundraiser for a friend of ours that used to live in zhills a few years back. matter of fact, stan was one of the guys that dug the original swoop pond before it grew to become the famous Lake Mottski. anyway, stan's shit (video/gear/all that stuff) was burned in the elsinore fire, so we're gonna have raffles and fun stuff to help him replace his stuff.

it takes an aweful lot to offend me. i tend to think about skyventure for the more obvious reason. flyaway in pigeon forge is indeed a few hours closer to atlanta. i just have alot of friends that drive down from atl on a regular basis, so i'm used to that scenario more often.
-
drive down to orlando, get in the tunnel for 10 minutes and work it out in there. 7 hrs from atl to orlando. book first, though. if you need help, PM me. $135 for 10 minutes is a helluva lot cheaper than 3 or 4 dropped levels due to a turn. seriously, it'll be worth the drive to figure out what's going on.... arlo

what did you jump before the sabre 2 170? it sounds as though you only have a few jumps on a 170 and want to downsize to a 150. if you weigh 200 pounds out the door, jumping a 150 is a bit aggressive for someone with 45 jumps.... have you considered sticking with a 170? i know the logic is that you'll save money by just purchasing the 150 now, but comparing canopy costs and doctors bills could be a huge difference... just a thought. arlo

he was at zhills this past weekend. seen him around fl a bit lately... arlo

that is a bogus number. maybe you confused it with approximately 70% of our business comes from skydivers. big difference. also, skyventure would still make a profit if it was strictly skydivers. tourists definitely help increase the profit margin, but i don't think we'd be losing money if it was 100% skydivers - we just wouldn't be making as much. just wanting to set that record straight before people get the wrong information. arlo

fuck. i am sooo busted. okay, here goes. my real name is Bertha...and i am a semi-professional curling champion and i won 3rd place at the local mud-wrestling tournament...2 yrs in a row. i am so ashamed. for those i have misled, please forgive me.
-
you are absolutely correct! can i blame it on being brain dead and having a tummy ache? nevermind. i'll blame it on not reading carefully. my bad. is it 6pm yet?
-
because it is understood that if you borrow someone's gear and you screw it up (i.e., chop, asslanding on the runway scraping the rig, anything), it's on you to fix/replace it. the most important reason is because it's the right thing to do. that seems pretty obvious to me...maybe it's not so with some people. arlo

not even in the least. you take FULL responsibility when you get a pack job...period. blues, arlo

add to your list: soul flyers (my favorite) out of the blue (awesome stuff as well) you could check with: bonnie from gravity gear :925-634-0469 | 888-298-8886 jp from square one: 1-800-877-7191 lisa from the dropshop: 1 866 DROP SHOP i don't think you'll go wrong with any of these skydiving shops...all the folks mentioned are great people to deal with. :) arlo (p.s. i'd buy stuff from them if i didn't already have my own hook-up )
-
not only does stowing/cocking/uncollapsing help the packers, it helps the other skydivers as well. maybe look at it from that angle. instead of thinking you're doing their jobs for them, maybe realize that by them taking on additional skydivers, more people are able to do quicker turn-arounds with fewer people missing loads. it takes about a minute to stow your brakes in the landing area and to uncollapse your slider. why is this such a big deal? if you don't like doing that, then don't give your canopy to a packer. why bitch about something that helps the process? the packers work their asses off. i don't mind at all helping them out a bit. i don't feel like i'm "doing anyone's job" or anything. i see it as contributing to the efficiency of the dz. it just helps expedite the process... blues, arlo

that is fucking classic.

YEAH!! it's awesome that so many people have given selflessly. another way that we can help elsinore is to jump there. :) keep the dz running this week(end) and make a few jumps. charge thru this shit. :) i talked to my friend stan today - he lost all his shit in the fire, too. the whole thing sucks, but i think that people will be on their feet so fast it'll make the red cross envious. (they do an outstanding job, btw) hang in there elsinore....help's still coming. arlo
