the numbers that blincoe gave for the orlando tunnel are spot on. if you're ever at the tunnel in orlando, all you have to do is look at the control panel thru the glass of the control booth to see the speed and %. too, it's pretty common knowledge around there what we run at. they did jack it up the past few days for the tunnel competition (which was off the hook, i might add). as far as the #s for perris, i believe blincoe. i know that we run at a higher speed than them...but only by a little bit. speed will definitely cost you more there...and maybe here. arlo

i'm with bonnie on this one. no offense fishlips, but when i read the thread title, the first thing i thought was 'uh oh.' on these forums, people tend to jump to conclusions a bit about things...and bonnie was spot on about what people would think reading the thread title. i expected this to digress to one of those honduras questions, truth be known. maybe for everyone, if there's a question, maybe say "Question about new PD193 Reserve" instead of "problem with..." or "issue with...". no need getting defensive, but when you're dealing with something as delicate as a reserve and a company's reputation, maybe objective wording might help.

go to "SEARCH POSTS" and enter the words: new jersey tunnel there is a shitload of stuff there regarding the tunnel. these threads were from 1.5 months ago. even though talkback isn't available, that doesn't mean the search function doesn't work.

how tall are you? if you're 6'4" 250 and built like a basketball player, then you'll be fine. if you're 5'4" 250 and built like a bowling ball, you'll be a bottom-feeder and probably won't get off the net. if you can't get off the net, you're probably not gonna be having a very good time nor will you get to learn very much because you're not physically in the air. our guidelines at skyventure orlando are: 6'0" or shorter: 230-ish pounds or less over 6'0": 250-ish or less these are NOT hard fast numbers but are pretty good guidelines. hope this helps... arlo

who was joe, you ask? joe was a very dear soul who celebrated his 40th anniversary of skydiving last summer. he was around 60 yrs old (just under, but acted much younger) and was jumping in deland the past several years. before that, he spent years out west at perris and elsinore. he built alot of model stuff...alot. he'd been around a while, but wasn't stuck on belly flying. matter of fact, joe was into freeflying as well - he embraced the progress. :) joe made his departure last week and it absolutely breaks my heart. i desperately miss the shit out of him - as will every other person that he's ever touched. i can't imagine never getting another hug from him. joe was a very good man and his choice surprised everyone...but his wishes are respected by those who knew him. that's just a little bit about joe. he was a man that was very, very much loved by his friends and he always will be remembered in the most loving and selfless way. much love and peace to you joe... a

I've been fucking off/working...as usual. ummmmmmm, skyventure (last i checked) did not discriminate against nor do they lean more towards skydivers than non-skydivers. matter of fact, one of the last instructors that we hired in orlando has become an outstanding flyer in the few months he's been there (ask the members of airspeed if there's any question about THAT one). he has ZERO skydives to his name. of course, i think that should change, but whatever. that's all i know for today...unless some other interesting comments arise for me to toss around. hope you're having a phenomenal day, mar. :) cya in a few.... xoxo, arlo
