  1. i would not recommend a 2 piece suit because the top WILL fly up. the guys will probably tell you to wear a 2-piece. arlo
  2. i think to add to the fun of this event, we will be having a jump for the cause fundraiser - thanks to the muff brothers. they have donated their old muff brother trailer to help raise money for JFTC. so for those involved a couple years ago, this will mean demolishing the trailer for a few bucks a swing/arrow/stick o' dynamite/whatever. there's also talk of auctioning or raffling off squares of the carpet inside that trailer. you figure it out. make sure to bring all the inflatables that you can find and be ready to destroy some stuff. muff muff muff, arlo
  3. skyventure orlando allows kids around 3 and up. there have been kids younger than that (but they were relatives of coworkers). the limiting factors are: 1) will the kid freak out with the loud noise? 2) are they potty trained? if they're good with both, then they can fly. :) arlo
  4. could it be that you "felt" as though you were near "the top" when in actuality you were flying near or at the top of the glass? i worked at skyventure for a few years and they don't let people fly that high above the glass because: 1. most people CAN'T fly much higher than 10-15 feet (inside the 42-foot tall column) and that's PUSHING it. and 2. they don't allow people that high and will adjust the speed accordingly to keep you in the effective flying area (between the floor and the top of the glass). you really have to know what you're doing or be light as a feather to sustain flight a few feet above the glass for any length of time and if you find yourself there and you "bounce off the walls", you most likely end up unstable and dropping out anyways. just wanted some clarification because sometimes perception can change if you're not used to being in there. FWIW, when i freefly in a larger suit and i end up on my belly to start a headdown outfacing carve, i fly about 4-5 feet above the glass then work my way down into the glassed area...and that's topped out (high speed). i would have to seriously work to sustain flight higher than that in a relaxed, belly to earth position...and i've got a bunch of time in there. when training 4-way in the tunnel, teams fly about 3-5 feet off the bottom. enjoy your flights and i, for one, am looking forward to getting into the L-1 tunnel and learning a few things there as well.
  5. don't you EVEN go there, girl...
  6. OMFG. that did it for me. thanks stacy....i have officially busted a gut laughing. bickner, you HAD to pull out the pic of jesus, didn't ya? and rick......... god bless you for being you!! so not only is jesus with us, but he's front float. how can anything go wrong with jesus at front float? if the holiest ones are up front, i guess that means i'm in my normal slot? hey waitttttttt, a minute. stacy flies that slot too, if i remember correctly. BWAHAHA!!!
  7. i was laughing at the thought of remi being angry.

  9. ...jump together, have loads of fun, and have had a couple of practice days TO break the record. makes perfect sense to me... a (bill, remind me to tell you and johnny of my PLAN for the trailer when i see you guys this weekend...)
  10. so why not do the first one on the 26th. i don't think there's a limit to the number of times the record can break. we break it on the 26th, then you guys do it again on the 1st and/or 2nd. that way, everybody is happy, everybody can jump, and west coast will get their butts kicked 3 times. easy as pie. but i AM serious about multiple attempt days. why not? a edited to fix my bad typo.
  11. arlo

  20. have you ever had someone tell you that you clean up nicely? this is one of those times you should hear it... it's not black tie, but do dress nicely.
  21. MCO = orlando = 1 hour 15 mins TPA = tampa = 40 minutes easier for people that will be at the dz to get you if you fly into tpa. but whichever is cheaper. stacy, i bet you guys can set up some sort of sled/pulley system from the bar to your tent. then you guys could "shuttle" several people at once. this sounds like a project for hans....
  22. no fees...just bring yourself and your willingness to have fun..... BWAHAHAHA!! you won't want to go back home, sunny. it started out cool this morning and still is - 66°F now in deland. bring sunblock. a p.s. ron's right about your soul. SDC will have to share yours with zhills.
