i doubt they (extreme) read the forums much. but if you post an apology in the Swooping forum with a big "TEAM EXTREME - I'M SORRY" on it, i bet that will catch the attention of jim. because they deserve at least that. always a good idea to ensure accurate info before blasting. arlo

wow. if you have a 1:1 wingloading on a 150, then you should weigh about 132-135 ish. are you really tall? your comment about always having to wear weight took me back a bit. that shouldn't always be the case....something to think about. but, with that said, my rig has weights as an option and the weights go in the backpad area (directly against your back). if you're wearing 19 pounds now (wow! that still sounds like a LOT - unless you're jumping with guys 170+ all the time), then you could probably put 10 pounds in and make up the rest with a belt. it'll be a bit more of a pain to carry around, but hey, the plus is that your rig doesn't slide while packing. hope this helps... arlo

arlo replied to ianmdrennan's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
hey, if anyone from ASC is coming down to deland this weekend for the swoop meet, would you mind bringing along something kyle s. left behind? he left it there during nate's memorial weekend. PM me for details...thanks! arlo edited to add: all taken care of now. thanks bunches brian! i (well KYLE) owes ya a beer! blues, arlo -

hey heather...you guys bunker down on the west side. if charley keeps its projected path, you guys will get hammered and we'll get the left overs in deland. make sure chris and gang at the dz have somewhere to go during the storm....and somewhere to drink hurricanes while you all watch the big blow job. :) a giant bunker party would be in order.

...would that be the same as "truly"? i'm sure there are a few threads on here regarding new jumpsuits and things you should consider. do a quick search on it and see what you come up with.

What is largest night RW formation?
arlo replied to starkmtn's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
nope....they had planned a bigger one (either a 60-way or 75-way...can't remember now) but it fell thru at the last minute... this one was gonna be held at lake wales, though. -
skydiving magazine has circulation worldwide. it's not just a "states" thing.

that would be the one and only rickster from deland...YEARS ago. :)

Man, it's harsh on here. This person already waited 6 weeks. i think it was 3 weeks in the original post. 6 weeks would be a bit much, i agree. but there is a telephone number she could've used as well. it may seem harsh, but it grates me to see how quickly people start dealer bashing at the first little hold up/snag/missed email. see how many "such and such didn't get back to me and i'm pissed..." posts there are when they only gave them a few hours to respond. not everyone lives on dz.com or has immediate access to computers like others do, so patience does need to be implemented. if THAT is harsh, then so be it. i just call 'em like i see 'em. blues, arlo

i think you'd be making a mistake by not ordering from them again. square 1 is one of the most reputable dealers out there. if you emailed them as you said, did you give them time to return your email? if so, how much? also, you asked them, the biggest gear store in the world, to do something illegal tax-wise? hmmmmmm. if you're gonna attempt to hammer a store on a public forum before giving them a chance to talk to you, then expect that to be tossed out there as well. i don't think you're gonna find too many people that are dissatisfied with square 1's service...not even other gear dealers. maybe a little patience might be in order.... blues, arlo

dave, i'm picturing you standing inside the plane pointing to each exit and where it's located. "there are 2 exits located at the front of the cabin and 2 in the rear. please locate the exits because the closest one to you may not be available." hehe seriously, i can't believe that people are bickering about which is better: comfort or aircraft performance. surely to god you guys are kidding about being comfortable. suck it up for god's sake. it's just a little sweat. you guys huck yourselves out of planes but bitch because your balls sweat. gimme a break. arlo

The love of my life Nathan gilbert
arlo replied to Katieatasc's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
katie, i don't have the words, sweetie. something you'll never lose is the love you guys had for each other. i remember you talking about that love when you stayed here in deland. he will ALWAYS be with you. some people think it's bullshit, but i know it's not. souls that intertwine will always exist like that. he lives in your heart and that's all that matters. love and light to you, sister. you will get through this and your poor heart will feel as though it's destroyed, but live your life the way you did with nate - full of love and generosity are caring. you have the same "retreat" in deland if you need to get the hell away. much, much love and my deepest sympathy katie and to your beautiful son.... arlo -

alot of times folks will ask the manufacturers questions in the forums (usually gear and rigging). but the thing is, a huge chunk of mfgrs don't have the time to sit and peruse the forums to find these questions and most don't mess around with searching for things either. it is usually word of mouth that they find out there's something to answer. i would like to suggest a separate forum category to post serious questions to the mfgr. this way, they can read it in their time and give you an answer, and it can also congregate the answers so maybe the questions won't have to be asked 100 times. i believe this will be much more effective in getting mfgr's responses. it'll be like a self-evolving FAQ. edited to add: i don't believe there are quite enough questions to warrant a separate category just yet, but maybe it could be an option in the future. thanks... love, arlo
