I dont think your going to find too many in here that even jumped then, let alone in remember a guy from your discription I have jumped there on and off since 92 and I cant recall anyone. Can you explain him better? Did he have a accent, walk with a limp, have long hair, a droopy right eye and crooked teeth? Wait? I think I know him... But call and talk to Kathy, she remembers EVERYONE! 209-369-1128 Good luck, Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  5. Quote Did you take the measurements yourself or by a rigger thinking about some people have complained that it was too tight and yours fit fine? *** Thats what the BM dealers are for? If the measurements are wrong its on them. If not, let someone that has done suit measurements before do them for the best fit. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

  11. They are shown a "REAL" canopy, a diagram of a canopy, a video tape of a canopy that is opening, slow motion and real time, students landing open canopies, and all the canopy malfuctions! YES Students do some things we never would think anybody would do..... Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  12. Too funny! Ya, I have been working on the a technique called the "student deployment death grip", for students that think the Instructor should still be hanging onto them even after they open! I have had some success, but I am having a hard time with bloody knuckles on my left hand since my arm is now about 3 feet longer! Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

  17. Awww, another week to stress out about it! Don't worry. Relax and and arch as they all have said, and you'll come right out of being unstable. It will be something you will laugh at after you land! Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  18. Hi Bon The "prop" count is common to most all counts for any plane. I was thinking this was a C182 exit because of the "up-down" count. Isn't your exit on the King Air all 3 out (ISI) with student checking to the reserve side, then the main, and then checking "prop"? Or do you guys do the exit with only the reserve side out, and the student inside facing torward the prop in the door, with the mainside in the plane? Thus, the "check in, check out"..? I can't remember ever seeing a student exit anything other that a C182 with an "up-down" count. I've always seeing the "out-in" count for an Otter, King Air or Caravan exit. And wouldn't it be great if they "ALL" arched and looked at the plane when they exit! Ed
  19. Nice. Make the pic smaller though so we can see it better. www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

  21. Yes! I have one. After doing tandems most of the day, I was given a lady that was "just taught" the first jump course that day, and was ready for her 1st AFF single Instructor jump, since she was going through the TAF progression. The skydive was all back sliding and tracking since she had her legs on her ass on exit, and when she got the legs out signal, her legs went STRAIGHT out! So I was relieved that it was pulltime and had to pull for her. After rolling onto my back and tracking while I watched her canopy open I noticed it to be a great opening, and on heading right to the landing area. I rolled over and opened my parachute and just thought I'd look up again at her only to notice her cutting away! After landing her reserve I asked her if she was OK, and what her reason for chopping was, and her responce was, "WELL, AFTER MY PARACHUTE OPEN, I LOOKED TO SEE IF IT WAS SQUARE, AND THEN I LOOKED ON MY SIDE FOR YOU AND YOU WEREN'T THERE? SO I CUT IT AWAY THINKING SOMETHING WAS WRONG! I also seen a girl cut away a good canopy because that "thingy" (slider) came down and wouldn't go back up! 22. QuoteI've seen/heard a few different things about wave off time-even a barrel roll to check above! *** It's very good to be in "sponge mode" as you say, but at 28 jumps, stick to 2 ways or 4 ways with more experienced jumps if you can. Try to make sure your all falling relative to eachother on the same level through out the skydive, and plan to break off high so you can good seperation. As you turn 180 degrees to track, try to keep everybody in sight as to the level and direction of their track. ALWAYS look whats under you (the jumpers out just before you) and glance up to the right and left as your doing your 3 BIG wave offs. This may even take up more than 500 ft as you said your giving yourself? You'll learn to do the barrel roll another time, when you've had more experience! Go have fun doing 2, 3 and 4 ways! When you are great at those, go bigger! Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  23. Try to avoid doing S turns if there are other canopies on the same level as you, and remember there may also be canopies above you doing a straight in approach, so you dont want to move under them if they have a faster desending canopy than yours. If you have to, hold half brakes for less forward speed, but remember to let it back to full flight before you have to do a full flare for landing. Your canopy flares MUCH better when its at full flight. And remember, it's not necessarily the swooper or camera fliers that have the right of way, since he/she will probably be down before you, and they always land in the same spot so try to avoid that area if at all possible? The lower canopy always has the right of way though. And the tandems have their area they always land in, so try to avoid them if at all possible and give them ALOT of room to land since they have big slow canopies compared to a sport rig such as yours. So, under 300ft you may want to just hold half brakes if your trying to land in a certain spot that you think your going to over fly, and keep looking all around you for other canopies.
