  4. Doing your training jumps as close as possible, meaning 2 or 3 jumps a day, has always had a better learning curve for a student, unless your a "natural", and pick it up with no problem. I currently have a student thats a "natural", that you may like to speak to. He's StearmanR985 on here, look him up. He'd be happy to talk skydiving with you. 6. Quote Does a wingtip gripper on S3 present any hazard at pull time? *** I have small grippers I had modified onto my S1 long ago. I put about 50 jumps on it with no problems at all, and my S3 has been the same. No problems. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

  10. Quote I figure I will either have a day I'll always remember or I'll go out with a bang! *** I'm sure you'll have a great time doing your tandem at Lodi, they have Instructors with MANY tandem jumps and years of experience. Feel free to ask questions of the experience and jump numbers of your Instructor when you get to the DZ, as they will be more than happy to answer any of your questions. And your chance of going out with a bang is far greater on your drive out to the DZ, and not on your tandem? But I do understand about the worry of life insurance just incase, as you want to have your family taken care of as I would mine. Here is a address to find the statistics of skydiving. http://www.skydivingfatalities.com/ Have a great jump
  11. QuoteQuestion: It is customary to tip after a tandem? *** Speaking as a tandem Instructor that has worked both as a "weekend warrior" and a fulltime Instructor, I can say that Instructors that work as a fulltime Instructor on the DZ are more than happy to except a tip, if they have shown you a GREAT and SAFE time during your jump. The tandem Instructor that is doing it only on the weekends, and has a fulltime job outside of the DZ, may not choose to accept the tip, as he is only doing it for fun and the enjoyment of taking someone for their first jump maybe? This is just my opinion and please dont take it as what all the tandem Instructor think, but if you have had a SAFE and FUN time doing your tandem feel free to tip your Instructor for his or her instruction. $20 is customary, but I have had some even go as high as $100.
  12. Nice story about your first reserve ride Paul.
  13. QuoteWe walk back to the school and I take off my gear. I duck out and dash to my car to collect the beer and Shelly's gift. What a GREAT student!! Take note Jeffery! Congrats Nightingale! Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  14. Another great way is to just do a poised exit with the passenger behind you holding the sides of your rig or the yoke. Sit with your back to the instrument panel in the C182 as if you were a student, then put both feet on the step and roll forward getting ahold of the strut with your hands, being careful not to spread your arms apart far enough to inflate the wings. Leave your feet together and stay as small as possible keeping the knees bent as the passenger climbs behind you. Step to the right and open up into the relative wind. It's fun. Just my 2 cents... 23. Quote I like the idea of getting a coach rating. I think that for any type of instruction in skydiving, it's a great place to start. Even with wingsuits, I'd put the coach rating before the BM-I. I don't have a coach rating yet, but will be taking the next course. *** FYI: Coach Course in hollister.... We will be hosting a coach course in hollister next month if i can get a few more people to sign up. It will be lots of fun and yes lots of BBQ and more.
