That's exactly the reason why the main side should be out of there as soon as your pilot chute has left your hand. Backing away from the student about 20ft to eliminate that big air displacement and allow for a clean PC launch is the correct way that it should be done. The reserve sides job is to have a harness hold until the student is pulled from his hand. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Stupid question - Tethered tunnel tracking?
bodypilot1 replied to councilman24's topic in Wind Tunnels
"Increasing" your fallrate in a track isn't something you'd want to do. If done correctly your fallrate should "decrease". On a normal RW skydive my fall rate is about 116mph, and when tracking it usually decreases to about 88mph. IMO, tracking is better taught in "real" freefall from an aircraft. If there isn't Kryponite thats causing you to back out, your going to have to change that big "S" on your chest to a big "P". - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

AFF student has cutaway= Land with student, fuck the gear, the student is more important. Student coach jump= Land with gear "if possible". It may be costly to them should they lose it. They are off Instructor supervision and should be up on all the emergency procedures, and able to land safely under their reserve. If you see the gear will be easy to find after being cutaway, or you see someone is already on getting the gear, land with the student. Just my .02 Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Salesman knocks on the door of a house. A 7 yr old boy opens it wearing a Tu tu, a top, smoking a cigar and drinking a Martini. The salesman askes, "Are your parents home?" The little boy replies, "What the fuck do you think?" - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

The wingsuit bigway formation Ray showed me last week when I was in Deland is impressive if flown as such. Maybe he'd like to post it, so we can compare to what we achieve this coming weekend? Hmmmm? Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Every time I watch those exits we did over the city, it reminds me of Lemmings. Thanks. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Most of the people hurt misjudged their final approach into the grounds and found they had NO forward drive, thus landing short. The wind was 5 to 7mph blowing cross ways to the field and did have some rotars coming off of the building across from the field, but nothing that couldn't be handled if done correctly IMO. Thats very true. I landed in the center of the field in front of the Royal Palace safely, and then watched people landing on everything from trees to Buddist Temple roof tops, for about the next 10mins. It wasn't a jump for the uncurrent skydiver. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

tracking= What you have to adjust when your VCR picture is fucked up. freeflying= What you are doing when you didn't pay manifest for your jump. RW= What you are doing when you are with your relatives and not at the DZ jumping. CRW= What you are doing with your relatives during Christmas. Hope this helps Chad

I'd have to add finesse and technique to this also. Using nothing but strength on tandems will lead to burn out at times. I'm 5'10 170lbs, and after a few thousand tandems ranging from 85lbs to 275lbs out of a C182, they all have there different techniques for getting out the door. GREAT preplanning with the student for the exit you wish to do is the KEY! Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
