I agree with ya 570, He was grandstandng when he should have been running IMHO. We had to wait a while to get a ship passing by in the back ground for the "money shot" as he calls it. The crew on the deck thought he was a suicide and were yelling for him to !JUMP!. Felix told me that he wishes the same (unlimited funds so I could jump anything I wanted anytime I wanted). but instead he gets called to different parts of the world to jump what I consider BS sites. take care, space

Access the superstructure during the early morning darkness, wait until sunrise, jump, land in a boat that I was to position under the 110m object, then speed off to meet the press for interviews ala “Felix Style”. It was a nice plan. But things went differently. As I was marking the reference point for the boat position on my GPS in the early morning twilight whilst under the “Puente De Las Americas” bridge, The Panama Canal Guard boat hailed us with a Flashing blue lights, bullhorn and AK47 Machine guns. A scene from Apocalypse Now flashes through my mind. Scared kids were manning the mounted automatic weapons on the guard boat. Harsh Spanish dialogue ensued. Within seconds we were forced to present our passports, and were being interrogated. Moments later the boat was searched as we remained at gunpoint. El Capitan de la Guardia asked repeatedly, “What are you doing here?” He wanted to know desperately “What are you doing at the entrance to the Panama Canal at 5am on the eve of September 11?” After they had carefully noted our critical data in an official police notebook, we were commanded to vamoose! without delay. We sped away with the Panama Canal Port Authority boat pacing us for awhile. The machine guns remained trained on us, keeping our anxiety level maxed. Eventually they veered off and allowed us to consider our next move. Upon hearing our plight, topside Felix opted for Plan B which was to exit to the side of the Canal rather than the center, selecting a rocky embankment for a LZ. I positioned the boat in the marina as close to the LZ as possible in case a water rescue would be necessary. The exit part of Plan B went off without a hitch, as well as the landing. But then our biggest problem came speeding back along the water. It seemed our friends had been watching and waiting. Five guards with machine guns captured Felix and 2 photographers promptly. We´re thinking, “Unfortunate, but hey, this crap happens. Trespassing charges. No big deal.” Wrong! There was an anti-terrorist task force preparedness training at this site, 100% of the force employed for the anniversary of 9-11. The bridge is apparently a Top 10 international target. The PTJ (Panamanian FBI) was brought in. Felix may now be charged with Endangering National Security. This could mean 1-6 years in a Panamanian prison if found guilty. The court date is set for Monday. My translator calls me and tells me to move to another hotel immediately, or I might get nabbed. Federal agents are looking for any evidence of the jump – film, maps, compasses, videos, accomplices – to confiscate and possibly use for the trial. My new room is on the top floor, overlooking a LZ, 100 meters over downtown Panama City. The unlocked exit door to the roof is adjacent. I am packed for a low freefall. Life goes on. In the meantime, Felix` caper has attracted not only the interest of local media, but we´re also told, the US State Dept. Media and some fans begin to gather outside the PTJ HQ. Cameras are poised for live coverage of the criminal in handcuffs. Moments later, he emerges to the flash of cameras and cheers… Monday at court will be different. I suspect they will confront me on my way out of the country at the airport. Please think about your jumps in the upcoming weeks. Interesting situation, The USA has refused entry of the European camera/journalist team I was to fly with to the Americas. They had to use another country for the stopover. Hi Christel, I do wish to apologize to the people who do what I consider abusing children, for making a blanket statement in such a rude form, I was wrong. It was a definite lack of communication. I was a "lazy fark" I became the very thing I hated. More reason against it. Strangely enough, ALL who were hostile (including I), are ones who admitted that similar "abuses" had occurred to them..... i do consider the infliction of pain, abuse. On a final note, in my quote of "Cooperation seems to be my tool for discipline.", it does not mean compromise. It means my cooperation with things the child wants to do, as in going to the zoo, playing with dolls, or whatever the child wants to do at that moment. Maybe this is abuse, I am not sure. The child ultimately sets the level of their game don´t ya think? peppering can easily become pepper spray, spankings can become beatings if you play the game the child initiates. can you inflict abuse on a child responsibly? My parents could not. I could see that "outta controll" look in the eyes sometimes. i´ve seen it in many other parents eyes also. Applying peaceful logic i came to this. Okay, the administration´s van was killed in military service. I have compassion and sympathy for that. But in stories I've read, the spokespeople said that this kind of violent reaction is unheard of. This is not a lashing-out with diplomacy, a flailing and flopping around in unimaginable desire for oil. This is a deliberate act of deceiving the public in one direction, propagandizing , walking in another direction, pouring the propaganda, and deliberately setting it on fire on and in a venue to control the world´s 2nd largest known oil reservoir. So now, out of sympathy and compassion for this administration over the loss of their van, the administration will not be charged for what are CLEARLY criminal acts. While it may seem hard-hearted of me, I DO NOT AGREE with the policy decision of not charging administration for manslaughter. They put people in danger, whether they claim they were looking for WMD or that Saddam was trying to hurt others or not. the administration damaged the family; I wonder if the decision to not charge the administration means they also won't seek compensation from them for the total loss of the son. Just imagine if "deception" becomes the measure by which we determine what offenses are chargeable. And just imagine if other supporters of other deceptive politicians start using this as their excuse to deceive. After all, a precedent has been set here: "We cut slack to those politicians whose supporters have been deceived, even for criminal acts." Why not charge a government who sends their citizens to mortal danger after they deceive them? -- and I mean continues to send them at a point when there is not a present threat, like a year or two after the deceivement. I mean, we can sympathize with the administration´s deception, their greed, their feelings of profitability, right? What about the administrations who show up at a country to check on the status of profitability they fear lost in a crash? What if one of them drove propganda into the heart of the people upon learning that their potential profitability had been killed on a place that wasn't maintained properly?
