The next time i go out to "screw a girl into submission and screw her into slavery" i'll think back to this fine lady and remember that's not the right thing to do. I never knew "hitting the root" was so oppressive. Peace, love and hoppiness
  2. That's not the impression I've gotten from what I had read, but I'll defer to your experience. My point remains though that looking for weapons is fruitless, only looking for those who seek to do the passengers harm can have any real effect. Peace, love and hoppiness
  3. I'm about sick of this nonsense. Isn't this current debacle in our airports the perfect analogy for what happens when you give the government free reign, especially in the promise of safety. We go 10 years unquestioning the actions of the TSA...and they reward us by literally raping people. Thanks a pantload Washington, I'll sleep better knowing you're feeling up Granny for the sake of my safety What it boils down to me is anyone can still get a weapon on a plane....it's not a terribly difficult feat, and the TSA doesn't seem to be unwilling to give people every advantage to make it happen. What we get instead is security theater, intrusive searches, theft of property...and we aren't the slightest bit safer for it. I'm not the kind of person to hold up the example of the Israelis lightly, but their government has this down to an art form. What the government needs to do is dispense with the charade they are currently employing and instead of looking for weapons, look for people who intend to cause trouble on flights. You don't do that with metal detectors, you don't do it by feeling up someones junk, you do it with common sense and conversation. I've written both my Congressman and Senator, but a whole fuckall's worth of good I expect it to do. Peace, love and hoppiness
  4. That's the real issue if you ask me. Who cares if less than 600 people are making 178k, especially when the many of them have professional degrees and would expect to make that kind of money in the private sector. The problem is when we have an imperial federal government with 2.15 million (!) employees pulling down paychecks nearly twice the amount of their private sector counter parts (when the ludicrous benefits packages are considered). There is absolutely no excuse for the money those people make. Peace, love and hoppiness
  5. I thought coffee and cigarettes was the breakfast of champions. Yours does sound good though. Peace, love and hoppiness
  6. #4 maybe? I really don't know about range because I've never had a shotgun with anything other than a cylinder bore. Peace, love and hoppiness
  7. If being a hypocrite was grounds to have your resignation called for Washington would be one empty joint. Peace, love and hoppiness
  8. Until January she's still only two heartbeats away from being the first female/lizard president in our nations history. Good times. Peace, love and hoppiness
  9. I think I'm happy to come home to someone who simply doesn't have something to bitch at me for, or has dinner ready. Anything on top of that is just icing on the cake. Peace, love and hoppiness
  10. Don't you guys realize it was the governments chemtrail machine poisoning Californians? The government is just trying disinformation to throw you off their trail as they weaken American resolve to the upcoming NWO take over. Geez, you lemmings need to get your heads out of the sand Peace, love and hoppiness
  11. Thank you, said it better than I could have Peace, love and hoppiness
  12. How many active shooters on college campuses have been stopped by school police officers? The only active shooter I can think of that was stopped by anyone was by a CCW holding student at the Appalachian school of Law in 2002. Compare the results of that shooting to when university police tried to end the shooting at that other Virginia school not too long ago. ETA: forgot about charles witman...but you see my point Peace, love and hoppiness
  13. These laws are not aimed at arming students, but rather extending the rights to carry to college campuses for adults who are concealed carry license holders. This may sound like semantics, but it is actually a pretty important distinction, you have to realize that many of your colleagues (if you go to a school in a shall issue state) are likely concealed carry permit holders already who have had their ability to lawfully carry restricted arbitrarily to outside of the walls of your college. All these laws do is correct that disservice, and allow CCW holders to more fully exercise their freedom from fear, and defense from would be criminals. Peace, love and hoppiness
  14. The point is what harm are you doing to yourself or anyone else by merely having a gun on your side. I will always advocate that if carry is going to be done on college campuses it should be concealed as to not disturb others. So I've carried a gun every day for the past ~850 days and I've never needed it, but I have never inconvenienced myself or anyone else by having it. I just want to know that if the unlikely event occurs that I will need to defend myself arises, not matter how remote the chances, I'll be able to respond in such a way that I'm able to go home that night. To each his own, if you don't feel the same way don't carry. I still fail to see how having my weapon sequestered to my glove box during the school day makes me safer. Peace, love and hoppiness
  15. I was asking if you wear meaning to make that implication. It was pretty reasonable I thought because why would the location be relevant if you didn't think there were places people shouldn't worry about carrying a gun. I think the argument being made is that there are no safe spots in this country, and do attempt to create ones by law in effect only create unarmed victims. Peace, love and hoppiness
  16. Are you implying there is anywhere that you couldn't possibly be presented with a threat of lethal force? But to answer your question directly, Atlanta. Ranked 15th in the nation for rates of violent crime by 2009 data. Peace, love and hoppiness
  17. You also have to take into account who in the world wants to hit a naked person? Peace, love and hoppiness
  18. This is how my morning went today. Just like every morning I drove up to the school parking lot and put my coffee on the roof of the car and took my legally carried pistol out of its holster and put it in the glove box as per the law. When i get out of class today at 8pm, i'll go back to my car and put my pistol back in its holster and go about my merry way. I carry my pistol pretty much everywhere I go these days, and despite being on campus is the point at which i'm probably most likely to have to defend myself, it's the only point in my day I have a law keeping me from being able to defend myself. Why? Peace, love and hoppiness
  19. You give 18-21 year olds access to guns and textbooks and apparently they just go fucking crazy man. Peace, love and hoppiness
  20. Americans have an opportunity to revolt every two years. Maybe instead of silliness like this, Mr. Ratigan can focus on that. Peace, love and hoppiness
  21. You say that like it's a bad thing. Peace, love and hoppiness
  22. Assuming people actually read the red and black wouldn't that be something you might want to work out a deal on? Peace, love and hoppiness
  23. I mean, what else do people look for? Peace, love and hoppiness
  24. This thread makes me strongly consider UGA for grad school. Just saying. Peace, love and hoppiness
  25. well if you asked me WTF is up with this, I would have to say it's nothing more than the feds trying to legitimize and give relevance to that 43 billion dollar slush fund called the DHS. I wonder if Americans have got the 9/11 heebie jeebies out of their systems enough to let this little experiment go by the wayside for when Republicans are tasked on a cut the budget hunt. Peace, love and hoppiness
