Our CI, Simon Darch, turned 40, (old fart), yesterday. And to celebrate he did 40 Hop 'n pops from +-2200'. I know it's probably not much to the okes in the States but here I'm sure it's a record for most jumps in a day. I went with on the one load, kinda cool exiting low over the club house. Probably also a record was the most pack jobs by Mias. Congrats. ...drags me down like some sweet gravity!!!

Is 99sec from 10grand at sea level, average speed of 52mph, (first ave-53mph, sec ave-51mph) is that any good in a GTi? Thanks for the reply, Actually my head position was looking straight down, elbows slightly bent and rolled forward and was grabbing the wing tips of my GTi. Slight dearch in my chest. I tried relaxing my elbows but didn't seem to help. I did cover a fair bit of ground. Was I maxed? ...drags me down like some sweet gravity!!!

Howzit, Did a jump today from 10grand, had 99secs flight opening just under 3grand. But was kinda wobbling from side to side. Why? I thought that I might be a bit stiff but even when I relaxed I still wobbled slightly. My body position seemed to be fine. Any ideas? Cheers, Courteney. ...drags me down like some sweet gravity!!!

I am sitting at work, just spoke to my husband (Courteney - the Birdman of the Namib) and realised how f*cking incredibly lucky I am to be with the one person that I wanna grow old with. No shit, there I was...I thought I was going...nah fuckit I thought I was dying or worse, Paralized!!! My first BASE jump off a 75m bridge...no as good as my girlfriend's who's was perfect. I er...fucked up a tad and went off head low....hard opening (obviously), swung me upside down, foot snags the right hand line set and I swing back into about 4 line twists...canopy was flying straight but now turned to those nasty rocks on the left side of the gorge. Forget for a few seconds that I'm NOT on a skydive and start swearing and kicking out...but those rocks are coming closer....so I grab the risers to flare but stall the canopy and plough backwards onto hard, wet sand flat out on my back, (no helmet), winding myself like you wouldn't believe, my head hurts like hell and I can't breathe...in agony looking up at my g/f and her friend looking down at me...shouting if I'm ok...can't speak...can only muster a shaky thumbs up. Feeling returned to my feet and I started breathing again. Had a mild concusion for a coupla days but walked away with only my pride bruised. ...drags me down like some sweet gravity!!!

Yeah they are quite bent. But I found that was the only way that we could get head to head. Before I bent them that much he was just behind me and to the side that we couldn't dock. We are still learning though. That was both our second flock ever. I don't think the fact that I have a GTi and he has a classic was the reason that I had to bend my legs. I was super stoked when on my first jump in my GTi I could grab my risers. I had read it was not really possible due to wings attached. I grab them on every jump...or dump.
