  1. So, you're saying with that blanket statement that a 38 jump wonder has every right to jump a Stiletto 135 loaded 1.4:1, just because he is 18 and signed the waivers?? PLEASE tell me that is not what you are saying. "The needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few, or the one" - rehmwa

  3. __________________________________________________ I agree that some risk has to be taken by someone at some time to further our sport. I also agree there are jumpers with the skills and experience to take larger risks than some. But, it's the jumpers old and new that have no respect for going over the "edge" and the result of doing so that burn me up. I'm no angel, I had brass balls when I was coming up the ranks, but I had sense enough to listen to the people who had the experience and caring to tell me I was getting out of control. They were my keepers and my friends. I do see what you are saying Bill "The needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few, or the one" - rehmwa
  4. I was just reading another post in this forum and took serious notice to some comments posted about "fun" and "danger". I would like anyone who thinks they shouldn't be vigilant in keeping our skydiving brothers safe to stop for a moment and think about this. We are all our "brothers keeper". It does not matter if you have 100 jumps or 10000 jumps. Maybe some of you have never experienced the result of a "fun and dangerous" jump on the "edge" that went wrong, maybe you have never cradled an injured jumpers head in your lap and dug blood clots and broken teeth from his airway just to keep him breathing until the paramedics arrive. Maybe some of you have never seen the results of an on the edge turn that resulted in a PLF (Parachute Landing First) and the sound that parachute and jumper make as they impact. Many of us on this forum have and have no want, need, or desire to hear it again. I am not saying don't push yourself to become better, pushing yourself hard does not have to be on the "edge". So, If you ask me am I my brothers keeper, yes I am. Rant Over Bill D-22931, S&TA, T/I "The needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few, or the one" - rehmwa

  7. How many jumps do you have on it? How do you pack it? I noticed you said new brake lines, what about the rest of the lines?. From what I hear the Vengeance gets real unpredictable when it is out of trim. I have 450ish on my Vengeance 135 and only have problems when I create them, like trying to steer the opening with the risers, rushed packed jobs, ect. 8. UPDATE: Just received an e-mail from them, they asked that I do a full funtionality test, then report back. That should be easy enough, considering it won't function at all They also said to return it for a warranty replacement. Now I gotta figure out how to get it out of my helmet, it's epoxy'd in "The needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few, or the one" - rehmwa
  9. Well, dropped them a line 7 days ago, have gotten no response, I'll just order a new one. "The needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few, or the one" - rehmwa
  10. I don't believe in the "natural", sure I have seen alot of peeps that took to skydiving like a duck to water. But, I have also seen "naturals" hauled from the DZ in an ambulance with mult broken bones, because someone said "sure you can handle that Stiletto 150". Nothing replaces experience...period. 12. I know, you guys are tired of hearing about problems, but I think this one is different from every other problem I've read about. (Yes, I did a forum search) Okay, here is the problem I am having with my Cam-Eye. When I turn on my TRV-33 everything is normal until the record head goes into the standby mode, meaning the light (green) blinks as normal, until you hear the whirring sound from the heads, as soon as the whirring sound starts, the lights go nuts, flashing super rapidly in no set order. The first three or four seconds of power up are fine. I use S-video wire for most of my editing, so I don't think It could be the LANC port. I hope this makes sense. 14. We have used them for years, never really had a problem with them at all. They do not have the volume of smoke that M-18's have, so you may have to use two at a time to get the disired effect. The colored smoke was the same story. The white smoke worked best on clear days with few clouds and the colored worked best on days with more clouds creating a background. 15. Really??? I bought 2 dozen white and 2 dozen assorted colors a couple of years ago, used the last one a few months back, not one dudd in the bunch. "The needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few, or the one" - rehmwa
  16. Actually, anyone who makes a nekid skydive is setting themselves up to be made fun of. Skinny, fat, short, tall,HAIRY,hairless, big ass,no ass, perfect body, should donate body to science, ect. We, being skydivers, WILL find something to make fun of. "The needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few, or the one" - rehmwa

  19. I would say that is a "high school" way to handle the situation. Pulling someones reserve is not a smart thing to do. Do you think that would help the situation or just make a bigger problem? I would have to agree with you there, I could assure you of an escalation in hostility if you pulled my reserve handle. But then again, I would have given my gear a check before putting it on. I have also paid for a mal, I wasn't pissed and still tried to pay him, he would not accept payment and arranged for a rig for me to jump while he had my reserve re-packed.
