    Hello peeps! Winsor got me thinking after I read something he posted in the incident forum. I have a simple set of rules for myself about landing out. If I can't be within a minimum distance of 1000' from the landing area at an minimum altitude of 1000' I am landing out period. I can usually make this decision the second I have a good canopy over my head and I survey my location in reference to the landing area. Knowing my canopy and how far I can push it on rear risers helps also. How do you decide when to land out and when to stretch for the landing area??     I am night blind do to a congenital disease known as choroidoremia. I also have tunnel vision to a degree. I did both my night jumps for my D, and not one since.     Just a couple of weeks ago I was talking with an officer, he told me that the "average" male could traverse 20 feet in less than two seconds, espesially if they are "hopped up". Doesn't sound like much time for an officer to think, just react. I think the officer in question did the right thing, his life or the attackers life.     About a four weeks ago I got a nasty case of the flu, 103 temp, hacking cough, runny nose, you name the sympyoms and I had them. The owner comes in and asks why I am at work? So, I told him he was too cheap to give more than two days a year sick leave, so here I am. One week later he changed the policy to 5 days a year, that you can roll-over if not used.
