    That grommet looks like it is set into a leather patch to prevent burns. This leads to the conclusion of ie being part of the reefing system. So I am still leaning in the direction of Volplane.     I believe the solid white ones were C8 The differance was in which service the canopy was made for. I think the orange and white was to be easier for rescue crews to see at sea if a pilot ejected. Structuraly the same canopy though.     I think that was Chris Pine, Haven't seen him for yonks. Other brother is Andy. He runs a DZ at Danneverk and is still very active in the sport.     There have been a spate of atacks here recently including one woman being killed. So it's front and centre in the news including a report that some folks (not your normal law abiding types) are feeding "P" to there dogs to make them even more aggresive.     I was there last year and had a great time. Check out the street markets, lots of livley bartering to be done. Beer is expensive but food in the stalls at the street markets is cheap as can be. Loved the place and would like to visit again for a longer holiday. I only had a few days there after a competition in Melaka. That's half way down towards Singapore and also worth a visit.     Very well put by both Rhys and Nick. Fact is though the tandems are here to stay. Sad fact, here in NZ is the tandems don't seem to contribute much to the sport as a whole. In the 80s when I was instructing at Toogoolawa it was pracyticaly manditory to try and get the first timers to stay the whole weekend and party with the old timers, and to encourage them to do a second jump right away. I can asure you two things 1 this was not just to get the money out of them for the second jump. 2 the ones who stayed had the best possible experience and introduction to our sport.     Basiccaly right. Kieth Gallagher was running the association which was running the show.They then decided that it would be best to have two different orginizations for various reasons.     The NZPF was formed out of the original orginization which is now the NZPIA. One is for sport, competitions fun jumping ect. and the other regulates the commercial side of the sport, IE Tandems. Each does a good job in thier own right, and keep in mind that for the size of the jumping population in NZ, approx 400, the Tandem industry is very large. The NZPF came in existance about 4 years ago. I can't really comment on the measures proposed other then to say sounds like typical BS.     The magic may have shifted locations or changed direction, but it's still there. I often look at the younge guys around today and think "they don't know what it was like back in the day, when PC's were the hot item on the DZ and drinking all night then getting on the first load were the norm" All us old timers have our memories, some more accurate then others, but hey the young guys and gals are making thier own memories now and in twenty or thirty years, they will recall thier own brand of magic.     I had a problem with both hands going pins and needles a few years ago. My x-rays showed the tip of the top left hand rib broken off and a compresed cartildge in the neck (long story short, round canopy, strong winds, powerlines, apple tree, and one week in intensive care in 1973) I went to an acupuncturist ( something I never believed in) and after a few treatments it all came right and I've not had the problem since Watch my video Fat Women http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRWkEky8GoI
