Not Making It Into the Pattern
mccurley replied to MagicGuy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Sometimes the best thing to do is give up on the landing area and land out! Better a longer walk then an ambulance ride because of low turns or canopy colisions. Already to many of those happening. Watch my video Fat Women http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRWkEky8GoI -
Paddy used to jump at Toogoolawah in the 80s when I was there. That was after he finished flying camera for the Aussie team Promethius. I don't believe he jumps anymore. Last I heard of him, around 87 he was gone into the outback to catch and break camels to send back to the middle east!!!! No serious

I used to have one with a silloette of a canopy and jumper in profile, surounded by calculations to calculate the lift generated by the airfoil. Across the top in big letters it said "I don't care how, just so long as it does!" Watch my video Fat Women http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRWkEky8GoI

The whole damn country is good to visit. Good DZs on both islands. We are having our Nationals in early March which is always a bit of fun though they are nowhere near as big as a US Nationals. If you do come over, PM me, we can put you up for a night or two in Tauranga (beautifull place) I always have a place for travelling jumpers. But where are you? These are designed for New Zealand and Australia as in no snow loading required. But they are up to cyclone type winds. Watch my video Fat Women http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRWkEky8GoI

Don't know if I can helpou out there but I designed 36 for Tauranga Airport in New Zealand. Quite proud of the out come seeing as I'm a highschool drop out with no training. Self taught in Cad drawings and lotus and excell spreed sheets, and now do this stuff for a living Have a look at http://www.snsconstruction.co.nz and in the profiles you'll see some pics. I heard that one in 1973 but it was about a single jumper in Florida. I always put it down the catagory of urban legend. Watch my video Fat Women http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRWkEky8GoI

Great one Mike I Still remember going up on a load in the early 70s at Coldwater Ontario with Mike and Perry Grim. They were basically teaching each other RW. Dirt diving seemed to consist of a discussion on the way to altitude along the lines of "I went first last time so this you go first this time, and I'll try to catch you."

I've got a Martin J1 that's about 5yrs old now and love it. In fact never played a Martin I didn't like, but have never had a go on a cheaper one. The J1 cost over 2 grand here in New Zealand and with an LR Bags Proactive pickup in it sounds great amplified. I also have a 1976 Yamaha FG160 which sounds beutifull but I hardly ever play it as the neck feels so thick compared to the Martin. Watch my video Fat Women http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRWkEky8GoI

"Well, when we wanted to test H-bombs in the Pacific, we just went ahead and did it regardless of what anyone else wanted. So I guess the precedent is to thumb your nose at protests. " Very much like the French!! Watch my video Fat Women http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRWkEky8GoI -

Started at 14 Quit at 38 and had been doing 50 a day for years I used the patch. It worked for me, along with the support of family and friends, and the motivation of wanting to be around to see my kids grow up. Now 52yrs old now. I enjoy every minute with my kids who are young adults now. I haven't had a bad cold or bad flu since I quit. You don't need to be a roket scientest to figure out there are more good points to quiting then bad, But it's not easy and be aware that after years of not smoking you may still get the ocasional urge to smoke again and will require a dose of both will power and common sense to keep off the evil fags. But above all IT IS WORTH IT Watch my video Fat Women http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRWkEky8GoI
