Just asked this question, because when one toggle gets unstowed during the opening, some people do a cutaway without ever trying to release the other toggle.

Just like you said. Rounds are maybe less modern but certainly not less safe. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Old school packing? Are you talking about psycho packing or about roll packing? Roll packing is an old flat packing technique (an envelop-style of packing, not stack packing)? Parachute lays flat on the ground, set brakes, flip the nose inwards, flip the tail inwards, ...

And people get killed under square parachutes. Round parachute is still a very very safe parachute. Can somebody correct me if I am wrong, but I always believed that a two out situation is only dangerous when you have two square parachutes out. Windlimits are lower when you jump a round reserve (if you are smart at least ) Jurgen

I have landed several times in a cornfield (other option was a tree). First time I flared too low and it was rather painful (you could still see the streams on my legs one week later). After that experience, I flare higher, so to land on top of the corn and then sink in it without any forward speed. The ground in the cornfield normally is soft enough to do this. I believe that is necessary to have (almost) no forward speed anymore when you hit the corn or whatever you land in. Last time I did this with a Vengeance 120, WL 1,65. It is good to see that you have executed your EP very good, but I have one question. After the jump, when you analyzed the malfunction, have you never thought about releasing the right toggle to stop the spin? Jurgen PS I do not question the fact that you chose to cut away, but just something to think about.

A tandem drogue has to collapse before opening the canopy. With a full inflated drogue, the canopy opens too hard (can even damage the canopy). Jurgen -

1. The cutter of the vigil is of a different type than the cutter of the cypres. It is tested that it cuts every loop you can find on the market. 2. The vigil can be installed in every cypresready container. 3. Please, when you state something, bring in facts, not rumors.
