Debate and disagreement is definitely a dying skill. I’m tired and grumpy from kids being up till 2am screaming at each other To bring it closer to home you only need to look at discussions in SC from 20 years ago and how there was heated debate, but still substance. It probably gradually declined rather than fell off a cliff, but the last couple of years there was not much debate as people shouting their viewpoints.

Someone I worked with went to Uni with a Nigerian who qualified as a software engineer. Everyone else got jobs apparently, but this guy wasn’t even getting interviews. The guy changed his legal name to Bill Gates and was employed soon afterwards. Of course, I’m sure there is a novelty factor in being able to say Bill Gates is one of your software engineers, but the only thing that changed was his name.

I’m not bothered by the towers. Uk had some interesting research into high voltage powerlines and they found that for some reason Radon gas accumulates at higher than normal densities under the lines. I’ve long since lost track of the research but there were some interesting findings that at certain frequencies at extremely low power levels the ion gates in cells are influenced and normal cell functions are impacted. That’s not to say they found a direct negative health effect. The old TDMA systems were interesting, there were times I could audibly hear the TDMA pulses (not from radio interference). Could be dodgy old fillings.

You’ve misunderstood me. I’m challenging your thought process. The vast majority of ‘experts’ on 5G health risks lack knowledge of basic science and statistics. But, that doesn’t mean there aren’t potentially issues that need further research and our understanding is incomplete. I don’t believe there is some global conspiracy regarding EMF, I represented the UK on a few technical committees responsible for writing the technical standards on radio compliance legislation and there are no boogey men. That doesn’t mean that there are unintended consequences - remember how plastic was a saviour and now the problems are understood.

It is an interesting moral question. At what point does an organisation have a moral obligation to deliver it’s product and in the health insurance industry what are the consequences of wrongful denial, or what should they be? Social responsibility is something I’ve started getting very interested in recently. The one that grabs my attention is the large supermarket chains. They actively structure themselves to minimise taxes, in a legal but morally questionable way. Then they replace low skilled jobs with automation and technology like self checkouts. The end result is that low skilled jobs opportunities are reducing in the suburbs, putting more people on welfare. On top of that many elderly people’s social contact comes from chatting to the person at the counter.

You’re incredibly defensive, yes I’m taking the piss because so far everyone I’ve come across with the 5G and covid stuff doesn’t understand correlation and causation, for example the whole covid is more prevalent where there are high concentrations of 5G towers (ignoring the fact that it is a higher population density). Through in bizarre graphene and nanobot claims to top it off. Going back to non ionising radiation, we don’t fully appreciate the health effects. The Soviet Union were leaders in the research into health effects and using it for treatment. I went to a fascinating lecture at the Institute of Engineers in London by one of the Russian scientists involved in the Moscow Signal (where the Russians bombarded the US embassy with specific frequencies for over a decade to see if they could increase brain cancers/tumours). In the west the regulations are purely based on the heating effects of non ionising radiation, whereas there is evidence that other non heating effects may be present. However, this isn’t specific to 5G and is still an area of research.

Having run a business while I had a wife and kids at home, that is a good reason NOT TO work from home :) Seriously, a partner and kids don’t tend to ‘get’ that you’re working and will ask for odd jobs and interruptions. We ended up renting office space about a mile from home to fix that problem (and I got to see the wife and kids at lunch).
