  2. Let's keep the political crap out of Bonfire. Beef burgers are political? They taste pretty good to me. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  3. Yes that was covered on the radio this morning. 2.5million people is alot. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  4. I agree and to be honest I mean't business or work related blogs. The only non-business/technical blog that I have ever been even slightly interested in is "The secret diary of a call girl" but I only heard about that through the news. 5. Not quite sure what you mean by diggers? Finally to re-iterate I think this is embarrassing and not much more. Quote another site. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  6. I agree. But technically that could very quickly descend into the US being at war with its allies. Julian is Australian for example. Of course this is only relevant to Iraq and Afghanistan. The US is not at war with the UK so someone releasing confidential documentation that is embarrassing to the US is not an act of war in my opinion. 7. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-11858637 Breaking news on BBC - the site is being hacked. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  8. I don't believe that China or any other nation are directly behind the site. I think that there are people who have a distorted view on freedom of information and that nothing should be kept private, and Wikileaks is a manifestation of this. That said the arrival of Stuxnet which is absolute genius. It is something that I would have loved to be involved in and shows the arrival of next generation military weapons. I would support the argument that a proportion of the information that is fed to Wikileaks is provided by intelligence services and sanctioned by their respective nation states. 9. I know that at least 1 UK newspaper supports and helps Wikileaks (Guardian) from the BBC I am not sure if you believe a foreign power is behind the site? I don't believe this is the case I think it is just a group of individuals and possibly a few news vendors. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  10. He probably thought it was an unloaded air rifle, that would only blow a puff of air onto the sleeping victim's chest. Very stupid - as Skyrider said a pellet could easily do severe damage. Our air-rifle is a .22 and I am certain it could be mistaken for a normal .22 rifle. 12. It is an interesting situation. Personally I believe that politics and diplomats have long needed cleaning up. I don't agree with how Wikileaks goes about its business and I do believe that they will eventually (if they haven't already) jeopardise peoples lives. On the other hand if the Politicians are back-stabbing each other and slagging off Allies behind each others backs I have no problem with them being called on it. I am pretty sure that petty name calling goes on, on all sides for example the CIA secretly accuse MI5 of stupidity etc and MI5 does the same about the CIA. That would seem like normal "office politics" to me. Some people might get a few red faces but that should be about it. I believe that Sarah Palin is behind Wikileaks though - did you hear that she let slip North Korea are US Allies Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  13. Yup who wants to read the diary of the desperate housewife (actual title from our local papers website) Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  14. Interesting thanks. I work in technology and you here people talking about blogs but then nobody seems to read them. I agree about the advertising angle but I have yet to find a quality blog worth following - the only exception to this is Robert Peston the BBC Business editor which I read most days. 15. I am curious I see a fair amount of literature on people reading and subscribing to blogs. Marketing people push them as the ultimate sales tool and yet I personally don't subscribe to any blogs. I have found that most of the time if I click on an RSS feed I just get the raw XML as the browser doesn't respond properly. I am not sure that I have ever even found a blog that is worth subscribing to either. So what are other peoples experiences? 16. Not speaking for anyone else but this is my opinion. 1) Flying is not a right but freedom to travel and the ability to go about your daily life without constant intervention from the government is. 2) Being treated politely and respectfully may not be a right but it is something that "customers" expect. 3) Being protected by your government is probably a right. Taking the above into account a reasonable level of politeness and consideration should be given. The US should not be a police state and therefore you should be allowed to question and interact with a TSA employee in a reasonable manner. IF searches and screening are effective then I think people should be more tolerant. If things continue along these lines slowly people will migrate from air-travel towards alternative means. So next stop Amtrak and Greyhound will have TSA inspections before entering a train or bus. The next logical step will be to drive at which point there could logically be TSA manned tollbooths and checkpoints on the Interstates. I think the main point is you can't sleep soundly on your flight as the groping and scanning might make you feel better but do little to counter real threats. Smart phone?

There is a disclaimer at the bottom of the graph on "Real Life Performance." Perhaps you could share a better comparison chart? Honestly I just found it funny that a couple of posts here have referenced the fact that a smart phone is a "phone" and they had no need for the frills. Then the comparison chart which is relatively detailed doesn't even mention the "phone" side of things. The Wikipedia comparison chart looks pretty detailed btw. 18. I think you're misunderstanding the thread. This is a conversation about a non-rigger installing a CYPRES and has nothing to do with having to have a cutaway to pack your own reserve under supervision. You're about 180 off topic. Sarcasim... I was making a sarcastic remark... I got the sarcasm and in case anyone is worried don't worry my posts were in jest. I need to shut-up and learn from Twardo Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  19. whats the problem with that? How many reserve rides do I need to have before I am allowed to pack my own reserve? What does that have to do with anything? Just trying to learn that's all. So far I only get to pack a main so I was wondering when I could start packing my reserve as well. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

  21. This I can confirm. I was forced to bring all my gold, jewels and block of shares secretly to the Caymans. Sh*t German bank safes. Dreamdancer's right: Germany is no failure.

  23. You left out the MLK connection, and the Freemasons. . Sorry poor research on my behalf. The Worshipful Master at Duane's local lodge was a senior CIA operative. He contracted Duane in to provide insight into how MLK's jacket got lifted the evening before. By coincidence a young Larry Carr joined the masons and Duane provided a character reference, forever ensuring that the FBI would not investigate the crime. Good enough? Now in researching all this I discovered a link between MLK and your previous post proving that you are involved and have a vested interest. It is no coincidence that you mentioned Zimbabwe in your previous post Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

    Smart phone?

That chart is funny! It gives you the CPU fab details (65nm or 45nm) something that is pretty meaningless to 99% of the market and completely omits ALL details on the phone side. There is no mention of what frequencies bands (Quad band/Penta band etc) and protocols the phones support. So you know some useless detail about the CMOS fabrication of a single component in the design but not whether your phone will work in Europe Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  25. Having jumped rounds (non-military) I can see the benefits of being "hands-free" so that you would be more prepared to act on landing. Also as others have mentioned there is very little control and input required (or even available) on a round which means less training required and less chance for operator error for example hook turns aren't an option on a C9.
