  1. -1 Why do you disagree with his statement? I think it is a pretty accurate description. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

    Mirage Ad

That's only half the battle. OK, they diffinitly have my attention, but they pissed it all away by not giving me a single reason why I should buy a Mirage. Really? I would imagine that currently in the harness and container section, Mirage are probably getting the higher number of hits as people who are in the market research their offering. I really doubt in this marketplace that there is any substantial difference between containers. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

    Hunting

It's interesting that you are from RSA and hold this view. I grew up in Zim and generally farmers tended to hunt and city people didn't (I realise that I am generalising here). I don't have a problem with hunting and generally my experience has been that hunters are "ethical" and genuinely care that the animal suffers as little pain as possible. In fact friends who were enthusiastic about hunting used to get very upset and angry with people who wounded animals and didn't get a clean kill. Mirage Ad

Advertising is intended to grab peoples attention. For 3 months in a row Mirage have been posted about on probably the largest website in their marketplace and maintained virtually front page status on the forum for a substantial portion of that time. That is very good marketing. Even people knocking the ads are not questioning the quality of the product (haven't seen a single quality complaint). I realise that the USA is far more conservative than Europe but the ads haven't been very sexual and I doubt the number of people offended is as high as 20%. 5. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-11929034 Interesting reaction from a Swiss bank. Like someone said you mess with the US Government you WILL get screwed! Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  6. Is this pulled out of a context or one could be really accused of terrorism just for having large quantities od farm supplies (like couple of barrels of diesel and artificial manure) and be pissed at the government? I mean "likely to be used"... Shouldn`t there be an intention? How you determine what is "likely"? No I believe it reflects a badly drafted law. As a naturally inquisitive person it worries me. When people start talking about the mechanics behind certain people or methods (for example IED's) my first instinct is to google it. This type of law really makes me think twice especially as I fly to the US alot and I don't fancy tripping some algorithmic alarm bell where the system is too stupid to differentiate. 7. I believe Wikileaks crossed a legal line today when they published the list of sites that are "key to US National Security". I think that there is clear evidence that this breaches UK anti-terror laws, especially considering the charges and circumstances around Samina Malik - quote from the Guardian below. It doesn't mean that I agree with the law as I think it is too broad and easily abused. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

  9. I use Google Chrome as it is simple clean and fast. I used to use Firefox but moved over a couple of years ago so I can't comment on recent changes that may have happened. I use IE when I have to - which is only really accessing MS Outlook over the web. IE is SLOOOW compared to Chrome and tends to have more security flaws that are exploited. 10. You do know the difference between a freedom fighter and a terrorist right? Terrorist - someone who uses Guerrilla warface tactics but loses. Freedom fighter - someone who uses Guerrilla warface tactics but wins. I don't think awards stop you being a terrorist. Robert Mugabe was given a knighthood but was clearly a terrorist (sorry freedom fighter) Nelson Mandela has been given alot of awards etc and also falls clearly into the terrorist/freedom fighter camp. R1 on ice

Can you imagine what those tires would do to you if you came off wrong? That's why you wear good gear. They ice race a good bit around here. Bikes, quads, cars and trucks. The studded tires give traction roughly equivalent to hard packed dirt. A lot of the bikes are dirt track bikes with the fenders and tires changed. The fun ones to watch are the nonstudded cars and trucks. Those are mostly drag races, although they do a bit of oval too. Those are a lot more like demolition derbies than actual races. Are they just studded or are they spikes? They looked like metal spikes to me. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

  18. I think that the person who is behind the leaks will probably face the highest charges possible, and I wouldn't rule out treason with the death penalty. That is by nature the person(s) who had access to the classified documents and released them to Julian. The wider lessons learned are that having data easily duplicated is a VERY bad idea. Even commercially you get special paper for contracts etc that don't photo-copy or scan. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

  20. They're going to shut him down and punish him hard, and make an example of him as a deterrent to others. Be very afraid. No, I'm not being sarcastic. I agree on this mornings news they were reporting that the USA is looking for a way to try Julian for treason and would seek the death penalty. I am not sure how a foreign national can commit an act of treason though? I also doubt that you could extend "reasonable" terrorism laws to cover his crime. I guess that there is a more than even chance that Australia could bring a charge of treason if there are any significant documents that affect them. 21. [humour mode]It sounds like you are an attention whore going for the full monty - Nakkid scan AND grope session[/humour] Seriously you have got balls baiting the TSA, I would be to scared to try and play with them as being foreign a sense of humour failure could result in my being denied access to the USA. 22. What a wanker - the radio host Just listened to the article for the first time. Where was he wrong? Actually I think it is more of a case of where was he right? 1) As Shropshire said he had a crappy attitude. 2) Muslims have denounced atrocities people just choose not to hear them 3) The radio host felt he could speak on behalf of the masses but refused to let the caller talk. Personally the radio hosts attitude sucked and anybody who is prepared to generalise based on religion is pretty stupid. I have worked with Christians, Muslims, Hindus and Atheists - in general they have all been nice people. It was no different than saying all Christians are Homophobic, Creationist, Anti-abortion, Pro-war, Republicans supporters with little or no higher education and makes about as much sense.
