  1. reminds me of the joke about the monks purity test. A monestry had a purity test before you could enter the brotherhood. A small bell was tied to your dick and a nubile young woman performed an erotic dance. If your bell rang you were "impure" and excluded. The monks watched the dance and everyone passed the test. Then the unthinkable happened and ones monks bell fell off, he bent to pick it up and every bell in the line started ringing Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  2. Sorry I missed you this morning. I think I woke up as everyone else was going to bed Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  3. Nothing I did was worth pictures. A couple of special mentions Andy (popsjumper) introduced me to people and arranged for me to go up as a pax. Went up in the co-pilots seat of the Otter with Bruce flying and once everyone exited he pretty much stood the plane on its nose (certainly felt like it anyway). I wasn't expecting it and I have never seen an altimeter unwind that fast. We had to "wait" for the tandem to land before we could. It was the last load of the day. I was invited to Mel's (really hope that is her name as I started to lose track) house warming and had a good time - including Travis's jokes I "grew up" in a family dz operating from a nearby airport and jumping into a farm. The farm has the same welcoming atmosphere and you would be hard pressed to feel left out. I think Hans has a great thing going. Finally got to meet the infamous Andy Copland - still can't figure out which is worse his online personality or him in person Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

  5. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omar_Bakri_Muhammad me thinks that unless you list every Imam both known and unknown you are condoning their behaviour through your silence Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

  7. Skydive the Farm rocks. Thanks to everyone for an entertaining time. It was good to meet a couple of other posters. I discovered yesterday why skydivers jump out of planes - jump pilots go insane on the way down! Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

  9. Cause like married sex they will be with held A variation - don't tell your wife that you eat at "good" restaurants when on business - its McDonalds every night for me. For some reason it really winds her up - she doesn't understand that restaurants every night for 2 weeks can get really old. 10. Random and she believed you? Thanks it was a great time and very good steak. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  11. but you can't drink alcohol till you're 21 I agree with you that crime needs punishing and I certainly don't believe that "kids" have free reign because they are young and stupid. I guess I am just a little sceptical on these "wins". I feel that they are suspiciously like easy "wins" to show that terrorism is alive and real and that we REALLY do need to keep spending money on FBI, TSA etc. I am not saying these guys are innocent just questioning if you like the system and how it dealt with the situation. 12. I want it known that I do not have a big dick Wendy P. No but are you are 21 blond and size 6 Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  13. I read the link. I stand by what I said the internet has a nasty habit of making people say stupid things. How come everyone on the internet has a big dick? It is the same basic principle talking big behind an screen name. As I said in my original post there is a fine line to be walked. I fully support our security services infiltrating terrorist groups and I know that this means that they have to "Participate". Participation obviously means making a contribution seen as valuable by the suspects BUT I am tempered by the realisation that a lonely misguided young person bragging on the internet might need therapy more than arrest. So do you agree with the UK prosecuting this guy and the measures taken? http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/twitter-joke-led-to-terror-act-arrest-and-airport-life-ban-1870913.html Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  14. That's pretty much the same conclusion I came to. There are so many gods and even the Christian God is very different depending on who you talk to. I will have to look for that book. http://www.amazon.com/History-God-000-Year-Judaism-Christianity/dp/0345384563 Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  15. Yes, and so I believe that God "exists" in this sense. The belief in God can help (or hurt) people, and therefore "God" can have power through this belief. Oh, and no, I haven't read that book, but it sounds interesting. Belief is very powerful. An interesting fact that I learned from the book is that Muhammed is the most accurately documented major religious figure. It helped of course that he was relatively recent and that factual accounts of his life were written within 30 years of his death. Of course as with all religious texts the Koran has "evolved" since then and parts re-written and expanded over time. 16. Has anyone read "A History of God"? It is a fascinating read by a former nun who "saw the light" to steal the phrase. She looks at how monotheism and religion have evolved as the make up of human society has changed. Essentially the human concept of God has evolved as our emotional needs and requirements change. In summary God is a man made "being" that fulfils our spiritual needs. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  17. Just got off the phone to my dad. My grandfather is in critical condition and unlikely to live much longer. There aren't many people in my life who I care for as deeply as my grandfather. I have been trying to stay in touch and visit as often as I could as I know that at 90 every day is a blessing. I am really pissed that I am 5000 miles away on a business trip and only get back on Monday I really thought I was prepared for this coming through - but it still feels like shit. 18. They were discussing this on the radio this morning and I think it is a very fine line. Alot of teenage boys are easily swayed and have stupid idea's that they never follow through with. Looking at their age I suspect that THEIR interests might have been better served with a visit from the neighbourhood cops, telling them they were stepping dangerously close to crossing a line of no return. "Enabling" stupid young men to do stupid things doesn't actually serve them justice or reduce the terrorist threat. What it does is make people feel good that the authorities are watching out for us. A senior member of Britians counter-terrorism unit wrote a book and expressed frustration that the more successful they are the LESS people appreciate what they need to do. He also saw success as preventing young men from being radicalised. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

I don't think it is sex sells. I think its a case of the right type of controversy keeps you being talked about. There is NOTHING sexual about the latest ad and yet it still got this thread buzzing again. It has been an amazingly successful marketing campaign and I guess they have 1 or 2 more issues to milk it before it dies away and this thread moves down to the wasteland of page 2 and below. 20. What is a factor? I've never gotten away with a warning. Well, not for speeding. I once got a warning for having the license plate light burnt out, but that stop was a pretense to check for drunk driving (and I wasn't). DONT SPEED Seriously I have a clean license and my wife has 9 points on her license (at 12 she will lose her license but she still hasn't learn't) In general when you speed you significantly raise your chance of an accident and the severity of any injuries. When you actually work out the time saved it is usually minimal. Doing 80 instead of 60 on a 30 mile journey saves you a measly 8 minutes IF you could average 80 - I think you would save 2 or 3 minutes. All of my wifes tickets have been on 3 mile journeys from home - the actual time saved was seconds. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  21. Your descriptions sound suspiciously like a sex toy FARFLUNG - Relax and stick to comedy you are good at it
  22. doin't mean to butt in to the conversation but I highly doubt any cruiser will be able to out run a SS sport bike or liter bike. Any modern or new SS600 will do 70-80MPH in first gear and the liter bikes will do 100+ in first gear. I have a ZX10 and I kid you not the thing will do 100+ in first gear. If the guy knows how to ride and if it's a SS600 or higher I would put my money on SS bike every time. Speed and the bike are only part of the story. The ability to not kill yourself in traffic is the larger part. I think that police riders are generally better trained to deal with "safe" high speed riding in traffic. But you are right about 1st gear and speeds my bikes gear change indicator fires at 60MPh in 1st gear and that is at 10 000 RPM still lots of revs left to go. Lastly back on topic I always wear a full face helmet and full leathers. As to wind shield the R6 has one but it just about keeps the wind off your nuts Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
