Winter 2010 USPA BOD Meeting....
alabamaskydiver replied to diablopilot's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
In light of the recent situations in Nashville and Murfreesboro, Tn that I'm sure we have all heard or read about, I would like to offer a suggestion that the BOD to suspend for no less that 6 months the BSR violators and vandals who slighted our sport by getting the word "skydive" drawn into another court room. http://thatismessedup.com/2009/11/16/guerrilla-marketing-for-area-sky-diving-company-crosses-the-line/ http://www.newschannel5.com/Global/story.asp?S=11657463 -

City of Nashville vs Skyride court date set
alabamaskydiver replied to BillyVance's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Information that I received was that the ones here who support AST (Skyride) , got themselves slammed in court because their posts with replies, comments, quotes and statements were used against them and proved premeditation to post the stickers and most importantly, their own words exposed their shell game. As said before, those guys are masters at screwing themselves! -

Many people won't be familiar with that name. Why don't you spell it out for clarity as to how this relates to skydiving. Igovincent is the "Mother" company of Skyride, Thrill Planet, Luxergy, ASC, AST and so on and so forth. "Vincent" is Cary's middle name, so My assumption is that is where that part of the company name derives from. I have no idea what the "I go" part of it is. If you look at most any of the court docs that have been published, you will see that they show "Igovincent, DBA as". Also, Pick any of their domains and do a whois report on them, they all show "Igovincent" as the owner. -

The title says it all. They are calling it "Expansion", but we all know better! http://atlanta.craigslist.org/wat/sls/1582646777.html -
One thing I can see is that it really looks like either there was not much footage of that jump, or they are trying to hide what really happened. There's just too many segments of that jump that are missing. There's no video of the landing pattern and what the approach looked like. If nothing was done wrong, why not have that footage in the video? Consider the source, ASC/Skyride! Do we really expect anything less?

What can you do about the ASC/AST/Skyride fraudulent business practices? Well first, stop feeding the SR bank account. DZO’s stop taking the certificates, jumpers stop jumping at the DZ’s. Stop working at the SR DZ’s. More and more States Attorneys are looking at the employees as well as the company. No longer are employees going to be able to say, “I didn’t know” especially when they post on here that “I just work there as an Instructor” or post on other web sites the direct connection they have with the SR company. SR is putting the blame on there own staff as well, look at the poor fellow in GA who got thrown under the bus. Look at who was sent to answer to the vandalism charges in TN (and there is more inquiries by other TN city’s as they have had enough). States attorneys are also looking at the DZ’s who redeem the certificates the advertising has been shown to be fraudulent. So if you’re a DZO who is redeeming the certificates and the SR web pages that the business comes from are false in nature your on the same side when it comes to defending your self. More and more states are adding or enforcing their laws about false advertising. The ship is starting to sink and it is a matter of time before the owner jumps off and leaves the employees and redeemers with out a job and income. Who is going to hire the supporters who till this day still support criminal behavior and bash legit DZ’s and individuals for standing against it? The potential liability would be too much for a DZO. Just like hiring an Instructor who had a rating officially suspended or was involved in a serious incident, the baggage would negate any insurance instantly. What else can we do? Educate our selves as to who is part of Skyride. That has already started with the DZ’s that do/do not take the Certificates threads. How about our BOD? Who supports Skyride there? Jay Stokes – no known direct connection Sherry Butcher – DZO that takes Skyride Glenn Bangs – long time friend and supporter who works at the GA DZ as an I/E from time to time as well as an organizer John DeSantis – unknown Larry Hill – the only US DZO to do the right thing and he won, right always does in the end Mike Mullins – used to fly his King Air for the GA DZ and has stayed real quiet in the TN matters Kirk Verner – left AZ and accepts the SR tunnel certificates B.J.Worth – jumps at numerous SR accepting DZ’s and sees no issues Gary Peek – dislikes the practice but does nothing about it in his state Randy Schroeder – in private accepts the company Todd Spillers – accepts the SR certificates Ed Dixon – dislikes the company but in his state does nothing Randy Allison – sees no issues Bill Wenger – sees no issues and even looked at taking the AF academy team to a SR DZ for training John Goswitz – sees no issues Marylou Laughlin – won’t comment Jessie Farrington – doesn’t like the company but does nothing Craig Stapleton – sees no issues Tom Noonan – has knowingly allowed Staff from a SR DZ to be ignored from punitive action because he is afraid the DZ will sue Victor Johnson – dislikes the company but ignores the numerous safety and criminal activities at the SR DZ/DZ’s in his region Lee Schlichtemeier – accepts the SR Certificates Scott Smith – sees no issues Now as to former board members. Jan Myer hates the company and her hatred cost the Association dearly. Following the rules and taking the right steps would have ejected the two owners and all businesses with out any chance of repercussion from a civil court. Her passion for her cause is to be admired but she is not providing much in the way of results it seems she is more concerned with her reputation after the loss in the USPA elections. Kip Lohmiller has worked for them on numerous occasions and even has a SR GA DZ senior staffer on his “Air Rage” staff as well as every DZ he has managed he has brought SR in. By extension look at who he has “certified”, by association they are SR supporters. Mike Gruwel worked for the GA DZ for years and still services many of the Staff’s rigs. As an RD did nothing when it came to disciplinary actions needed for the GA. He also performed countless night tandems and even admitted to it after he was “free” of the statute of limitations as set for by USPA for disciplinary actions. Now as to other ways you can show your not willing to accept the business practice of this company. STOP buying gear from the companies they represent and more importantly stop using the dealers who work for SR. For example when I was looking for a third rig I was looking at a G-4, I decide I would not buy anything from that company when I found out that the three SR DZ’s are dealers in that gear and that the list of dealers was riddled with SR supporters. I made the same decision when it came to jumpsuits and helmets. In short if your not willing to be called a “crook” by a wuffo who only sees all of us as the ones in the news (guilty be association), then stand up and be recognized as a clean skydiver. -
Kudo's to you, now if Kansas would do that then we would have Ohio, Connecticut, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Arizona, Kentucky and Texas is looking at a file right now. Ohio, Tennessee and Alabama also think the "partners" should be liable.

You would. It is a bit of an embarrassment to the 160th SOAR. -
+1 the distinct difference is that the asc/ast/skyride pages pretend to be knoxville etc etc, when the farm uses a link to their actual page and wait for it....... is near Atlanta!

Why would you condone criminal activity? Regardless of its level of crime it is a crime, perpatrated in GA, AL, and TN and looked into by various prosecutions, and so far two of three states have a conviction! A Civil court has a 6.6 Mil judgement because, well hey, skyride is wrong and the jury found the case sound and agreed skyride is fraudulant! It is a company mind set and you apparently have first hand knowledge of it, as no other "joe jumper" there (other than bdash) defends the DZ's/Company other than to say "they have a turbine". Which is a pretty week excuse to help perpatrate fraud. Started with the DZ, followed by fake web pages (that still happen to be up), followed by a fraudulant "national chain" with a fake skydiving organization. -
Did you not understand the history lesson? And you in a managerial positionin your job, fail to see the connection?
-
Do any disciplinary actions come from these meetings or is that a BOD thing only?
-
You go to the DZ and you give them money. You defend the company here. So how am I wrong?

If it was just this one thing AST/Skyride did, then you would have a point. But as it is one of many things they do illegally your point is mute. The placement of the stickers, in GA, AL, TN and other locations was/is illegal. The manner in which they use the web pages, nearly all illegal even before states started inacting laws (It was already covered by false advertising laws), the phone book advertisements in cities they have no facilites or cowards who take the certificates, illegal. So be ignorant or informed, be right or wrong, your choice. If You jump at AST/ASC you choose wrong, over right -
Oops, had my dates mixed up

No your well informed, you just choose to support illegal behaiver, making you culpable.

Court should have found them in contempt and on top of a fine issued arrest warrants for Cary, Ryan and Chuck. -
I talked to 5 I/E's about this, thay all still teach it but profes a preferance for a diving exit from 192/206 type aircraft. None of them discourage any, but the do caution them vehimetly about the dangers.
