  1. What did you think of the music, Jeanne? I like it. It's original, skydiver produced, and appropriate.
  2. "Grab the headboard" Is that pase? Like I GAF. I am pretty amazed by the need for "franchise" new-type (yeah like we've missed anything in the history of human sex ) sex. I had a friend who really enjoyed porn who was also having difficulty conceiving. "Curtis" I said, to Detective Curtis L, "you have to actually leave it in at the end for the baby thing to happen" "Oh." Curtis said.
  3. If you click on my link, you'll get my outdated webpage(for now) and if you order last years DVD you'll be sent this years 2004 version. It's good. The more I do them, the harder it gets. But there's lots of variation on this years, and I think even wuffo's will enjoy it. When I can get my damn version of Premiere 6.5 to MPEG my preview, you will be able to see it on Skydivingmovies.com. Until then you'll just have to trust Amazon, who has seen it.
  4. I liked the scene where you put on that rig of Gareths.
  5. I originally chose a Spectre cause it was reputed to be a good camera flier parachute, and that was my interest, then and now. Being more lucky than good, I have been able to travel quite a bit to different DZ's and have since learned that you, Gasson, and Finley also jump Spectres and I probably will never catch up to y'all, so I'm done. I downsized to 150's pretty early on, and that's the smallest I can go and consistently land well and accurately at different elevations. I broke an ankle and sprained my knees a couple times getting to this level, and I would have been better off if I had stayed with my 170 a little longer. I think a lot of the downsizing to microhyperperformance canopies is done by folks who need skydiving to be scary again. I'm noticing that many of them are getting that scare, and then backing off to something a little larger and less demanding of total concentration from opening to the canopy being on the ground. And I'm noticing that some of them are getting that scare and then dying moments later.
  6. I got a real nice preview of the boogie DVD done and want to upload it to Skydiving Movies.com. A little help? I'm running 6.5 and don't have any machine problems.
  7. Yeah, McCordia is a genius. Render the work area before sending it out. I found that out the hard way. Timeline/render timeline, save project, export to video.
  8. Congrats, Schwede! I still like that little four-engine job you guys jump out of sometimes better! I am surprised it's not yellow and blue, though.
  9. Yes, the video is done. Just click on my sig line and order last year's video and I'll send you the new video. Sorry about the website, I'm working on updating it. I've got copies in the mail to Betsy, Amazon, Alanab, Stumpy and Vicki so we should be getting some feedback pretty quick. (except for the English folks)
  10. Just so you know. I get out about once a week and golf about a 115 average. Nobody has more fun than me. Nobody.
  11. >>I remember that. Dust devil over grass, if I remember, invisible. Last time I saw her her jaw was still wired shut but it looked like the reconstructive surgeries went well. Is she pretty much back to normal? Still jumping? Jumping very rarely, and has another big surgery coming up. I don't think I could do much better. She wasn't doing anything risky or innapropriate and the sport just about killed her. My friend Amy vonNovak nailed home that point to me during a conversation. She and Bill have been at this longer than me. Skydiving is dangerous. For everybody. Every skydive. I have mangled my knees and busted an ankle and mashed myself a couple times, but never really thought I was in critical danger. I fool myself. MJOfireman really said it best when he said we impose a death sentence on ourselves until we take the actions that are necessary to save our lives when we jump. It's such a joyous thing for me that I rarely see that aspect of it, or refuse to. But it's true. Be careful. Even being careful, and doing everything right, you can be maimed or killed. The gear can't murder you though, so there's that...
  12. I have an out-of-date level III he can have. It has the big trauma plate, too, I think. It's expensive until the day you get shot. http://search.netscape.com/ns/boomframe.jsp?query=police+supply&page=3&offset=0&result_url=redir%3Fsrc%3Dwebsearch%26requestId%3D68311dcd1ea9f3d6%26clickedItemRank%3D24%26userQuery%3Dpolice%2Bsupply%26clickedItemURN%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.streichers.com%252F%26invocationType%3Dnext%26fromPage%3DNSCPNextPrev%26amp%3BampTest%3D1&remove_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.streichers.com%2F Streichers has been around forever, but there are other suppliers out there. They even have a budget line, which would probably be OK, since the threat levels are standardized.
  13. Very sorry to hear about your car, but glad you are ok! The old canopies were just really difficult and fun-free to fly, and had really crappy flare. The new ones have light enough toggle pressure that the passengers can fly them, and they turn and flare so that I can stand up just about every landing. It had gotten to be like a job, and now it's like skydiving again!
  14. My friend Sandy was critically injured by a freak windshear accident that crushed her face. She was doing everything right, flying a conservative canopy, and was very nearly killed. Going up to the American Boogie that year, I decided to sell my gear. I was in cold sweats thinking about jumping. Good people make mistakes and die. I have gone to more cop funerals than skydiving ones, but the circumstances are similar. People we love who have made a split second mistake and have died. Skydiving may not be worth the risks. Niether may be working in the military or policework. What do you want? How much are you willing to pay for it?
  15. And sometimes they are meatpuppets and I am their marionette! Actually, since we got the new Aerodyne tandem canopies, I am really liking doing tandems again!
  16. They re-motored our Kingair! They have these disposable rocket thingies they mount in the back so it climbs at like 10,000 feet per minute. Like five-minute turnarounds now. Really.
  17. Sunday will be extraordinarily exciting. 21 tandems on the books. I'll be out Saturday about noon, and Sunday until 3. I wanna get some aerial pictures of that foldable hang glider thing Gareth keeps pushing on people.
  18. I'm wondering if there is a cumulative effect on tissue that goes beyond the blood values you've collected. I am often really wiped out after a day of 10 14K skydives that goes beyond just the physical demands of skydiving that much. I really noticed the difference when we did the sequential record in FLA with O2. After a very long day of dirt diving and skydiving on oxygen, I felt much better that a similar day without it. Especially on jump run.
  19. The mounting post for your sight looks long to me. The sight glass itself should be just about in contact with your goggles. The shorter, the better. I am glad to see you trimmed the post, if you have.
  20. Generally you need a 20% down payment to avoid paying PMI, or mortgage insurance. A way around this is to have your mortgage broker do an 80% first mortgage with a 20% second that you use as "down payment". Effectively "zero down". I don't know about the rest of the country, but here in CA the appreciation rate is faster than the percentage rate of most mortgages.
  21. We're at Byron which is alongside the Sacramento river delta. Just gorgeous right now. The windmills are farther away than they look. If you've ever driven over the Altamont pass, you'd turn north for about a half-hour to get to the nicest little dropzone in CA.
  22. Yeah, it's done. I'm having some issues with my website, but if you just order the 2003 video, I'll know to send the new one. Your group was a ton of fun, and you'll find yourselves is many of the clips. Cheers! JP I'm working on a preview now, which I'll upload to either my website or Skydivingmovies in the next day or so.
  23. deBar did survive it unscathed, though. I like my Spectre better.
  24. Yes, and your paradactyl simply lands like a dream, as well.
  25. I'm guessing it's "An e-dork, I am" Mine.
