Quoteit will be nice to be a yuppie for a change, instead of charging my jumps on a CC i can pay out right. reply] I don't have a number, but as a yuppie and yuppie-advocate I recommend using the credit card to accrue airline miles

Best thing on kid's TV is when Loonette does the clock stretch. I'm partial to 9:15.

Right on! Is there dubbing stuff in the room? Do I need to bring my little VCR TV for dubbing? I vouch for the bunkhouse. It was way cleaner, cooler (air conditioned), and comfortable than I expected. Best $8 I ever spent (uh, thinking....yeah it is).

I'm shoulder to shoulder with DanG here. I have both straps and will keep them. An inadvertent stike on the chin ratchet will release it from your head. The three snaps of a football chinstrap and a regular strap might be a little slow. My hawkeye is one-two fast. Ratchet-fastex bye bye video flying for at least a year while I save up to replace that stuff. I wish Larsen-Brusgaard made cameras. I dropped my Protek and Ditter from 14 K and they're none the worse for wear. I don't think I'd be so lucky with my Sony and my Nikon

Lori, I'm getting the feeling "Depth perception" may only be a concept for you. Skreamer, if both eyes are open and you've got a concentric or cross over one, the image will be over everything you see if both eyes are open. You will just percieve the crossring image more strongly if it's over your dominant eye. I'm almost eye-ambidextrous and shoot pistol left handed with my left eye. I would have put the sight over my left eye, but my helmet was already drilled for a right eye placement. I prefer to rotate my sight off my eye to land. I'm a total spaz without my depth perception, and I flare high when I leave it down, it's just uncomfortable. Jumpers who are sighted in one eye impress the hell out of me. I'm a dweeb with decent binocular sight, heaven help me and everyone in the pattern if I only had one sighted eye! Unless your vision is really different from eye to eye, the dominant thing shouldn't affect the ringsight's assisting you with framing. Less than 47 hours to load one at Perris....

You guys all owe Lori a drink if she flies video, she saved you from my second video crash into a formation. According the Perris lens-gods you gotta have two formation crashes before you can count yourself as a real video flyer, and I need to get my ticket punched just one more time! I'll be there dawn dark Saturday, with three jumpsuits, stills and video, a bottle of Vivarin and an Amex card. PREPARE TO BE BOARDED!

Definitely skydiving and definitely getting some boom-boom? That is, sincerely, as good as it gets

Oh Yeah, Sebazz, Now that my 6 year olds are out of car seats, it'll be just a cruisin dream. "Yes, um, two quarts of vodka for me and this meat-hauler, and two happy meals with the big-kid toys, please" "Honey, you want anything?"......"What?" "No, sweatheart, that Lummy guy will be fine. No, I don't think he can puke anymore, just keep his head tilted to the side like Seb showed you and he won't choke to death"

Great weather, tech god. Has to be Bay Area, best weather in the world. SF is too far for a hardcore jumper to get to Byron, Davis, Lodi, or Hollister, East Bay then.....Oakland. Can I be a moderator if you are moving into the Rockridge District?

Argh. Set myself up. Easy beer.....sigh. Whoooo Hah!

Look in the mirror, it's that thing on top of your HEAD! 260 jumps, 190 RW, 40 8+, biggest was 12 way speed star. (70 camera jumps 4-way, RW (10 way biggest), FF Hybrid jumps = 0 Hey LUMMY! Let's go play! Again!

Sorry, what's Surflite. Surfing, but on a lake or something? No, seriously.

Damn skippy! I'll be in the Shelter with my gear on, camera rolling screaming 'LET'S GO! LET'S GO!'. We apparently won't have an RW organizer Saturday, unless we get real lucky and BillVon shows up. How many people will be there Saturday who have done a successful 1 point 8 way or better and has access to a grip suit? This is going to be a riot no matter what, but wondering what kind of way we might pull off Saturday. El Sebazz Le Skybytch Il Deuce "I LOVE YOU MAN!" -Anonymous man at bombshelter, 1:00 AM, 9/1/02

Dang, B-squared, now I'm intimidated!
-
Seb you'll be granted "free-time" right after we turn a 4 point 16 way. You did say you'd be down more times this winter right?
-
Well, it sure is in rifle and pistol, and I think it depends on just how dominant your dominant eye is. If you use a cross or a concentric, the pattern will be placed over everything you see, helping you frame, so I don't think it will matter that much. Try it if you can. Get your ringsight and bring it up against your right eye with both eyes open and judge what you see. People tend to close their weak eye when they try to focus without depth perception(like when they thread a needle), so if you did that with a ringsight, you'd lose the benefit of having one. One of the hardest things about teaching new firearms shooters is to get them to keep both eyes open. I've just never thought about it for camera, I use a lot of old firearm habits, I guess.

Sorry to sound so bitchy One of the FF team members at Davis, Scott, uses a football chinstrap with his Hawkeye LT. It works fine for him. They're sponsored by the helmet manufacturer, I think, so it's his choice, not a cost thing. http://www.pia.com/skydance/system3.htm At that cost, though, you might consider a bonehead or hawkeye.
