Speaking of which, until SoJP puts his pictures up, this should be her new avatar
-
I do beleive Andrea brought it home as a souvenir. "Hey, I just dropped this thing and it broke"
-
Yeah, Brian, can you believe that!? The bottom came right off that thing!

Here's a few pics. You identify the DZ.commers. A good time. I'm here to tell you, though, flying that McGowan-sized helmet is a whole new thing. Even though the chicks dig it
-
And I hear the people there are scared. They should be. That JP has a mad set of skills.
-
JP you gotta put up some of those Skymama raft jump pics. You seriously had me beat. A great time. Thanks all. And goodnight to an epic thread!

Only people who haven't met you in person. Great weekend. 22 jumps, got Skye's first tandem video with JP on her back just to keep her company. (JP's first tailgate tandem - BEER!) Even got snagged to do a paid tandem video/photo at the end (I figure it doesn't hurt to do a DZM a favor). Lots of great jumps, as usual with great people and some new friends. Skymama hanging off me and ChopChop was a highlight, as was the shorts jump. Jumping with DZ.commers and some serious heavyweight skydivers, like Jank and Guano and the Roger Ponce crowd is a reminder that 500 jumps just ain't dooky when skydiving with the great ones. I have to admit there was an edge to it, though. With Sandi in the hospital, and the regular procession of scrapes and bruises, this sport is dangerous, and will bite us if we take it for granted. I went from giddy laughter after the shorts jump to grave concern when GirlFallDown rashed her leg on that landing. And it was fun having my wife in the mix. I'm proud of my skydiving friends, and was very glad to share them. Thanks all, I'll do pictures later. Nor-JP So-JP is coming to a big-ass SoCal DZ near you soon.

Allright, I'm finally getting out of here. Criminy, ever have a morning where you can't find ANYTHING! See yall there about 11. JP Corndog! Please remember to bring my cooler (full of good beer) OUT

Hey Q, isn't that illustrated best by Hitchcock in the moving the camera while zooming thing? (Expecting a "no", it's a "*")
-
Hey! Where'd you hear that? Family Monkey* *Not an official MonkeyName, used only for promotional purposes.

I've got real estate already staked out. Buying Ice and bottled water tomorrow. Folks it's gonna be really hot Thursday and Friday. Good time to buy that Camelback/similar you've been putting off. I got so dehydrated at the Christmas boogie from just being so drunk at night, I'd hate to repeat the performance in hot weather! "If you don't have to pee, you haven't drunk enough water!" A Marine Sergeant-Instuctor sometime in the 1980's. Hydrate or suffer. JP

Allright Maggots! My tent is set up at Davis. It is so huge I am embarrassed. Thanks JP and Debra for the help. The gigantic Kelty is on the parking lot side of the pro-shop. Nice when it's late afternoon, but very bright in the morning and day. I did not have the heart to spike down tarps after setting up a one acre tent. Get here early, and set up next to the semi trailer that is set up next to the landing area. Or next to my Majal right next to the cafe. Lovin' y'all. Get there early. I'm gonna be there for load one tomorrow. Night jumps Friday! Amember. JP

I am so sad that Mouth isn't there. She was so looking forward to it.

Pain compliance holds are easily mastered. Stun weapons are for wussies. Sorry, though, the better pictures would be of her pretzelating you. Just get her a BillVon solar powered air conditioner/mister/bugzapper/potpouri holder and both of you quitcherbitchin.

If I don't get out of this office in about an hour there will not be room in here for both me and this Dinosaur behind me. Dayum. EvilLizardBreath. Whew!
-
LizzieB, is that a severed human hand on your avatar? Or your hand about to slip that strap down, or what? What did you do with the rest of the body?
-
You, and I, and Ben hooked up in that tornado of a funnel we launched out of the Van last year is forever etched in my memory! Now THAT was a funnel! Hey, that SAME Van is gonna be at Skydance! Hmmmmmm.........
-
Go get her a cot at Costco! So, when are you guys gonna be there Thursday? JP
-
I thought she only made that noise when she had to pack. Like me! Jason, who packs for me when I'm working camera, will be there Saturday and Sunday packing. He rocks.

No Sweat, Wendy. We only WANT a one-point 16 way so we can get on to turning sequential hybrid points.
-
Yeah, but I can't pick you up and carry you around.

Ah, Bill, you're on a tear. And scientists, along with all the good they do, also are responsible for the discoveries that have made life hell for others. Tearing a group or race down for the actions of a few would eliminate the ability to affiliate with any group whatsoever. "A member of the Human Race!" "Bah!" "You know what they are responsible for?" Same for any political party, plumbers, bakers, and housewives, too. I was told by a veteran skydiver that The northern california "freeway rapist" was a skydiver. How the heck does that connect to me? About as tenuously as the actions of any President.

Absolutely. I can just remember expecting the spinning to stop at about three, which I have experienced a few times, the canopy to inflate and go into level flight, and me to have plenty of time/altitude to kick out. When it went all spinneto I was thinking-as I grabbed my handles-"this just isn't supposed to happen". And, yes, in the hangar virtually everybody said "You spun up a SPECTRE?!" Like I had done it on purpose. I recommend them for camera fliers, and loaded at about 1.6, like mine, they handle plenty snappy, and no neck-breaker openings. With that wingloading, though, unlike Quade, I have had a trip to the hospital and a chop at 500 jumps.
