  1. I will buy you a drink whenever we meet just for making that offer. Thank you. BINGO! I double-checked to make sure the connector was compatable, and it is. I ordered two. (the Q-rule about things failing and all that) I got an E-mail from B&H that the actual remote switch is special order only right now, with a delivery time of 2 - 4 weeks. Oh, please, LT! I wear the Nikon most of the time for the tandem passengers, but there's not instant gratification! My digital photography is ALL ABOUT ME! JP
  2. Yeah, but it doesn't have a catalytic convertor. My Bimmer runs it like it's nitrous, but the catalytic convertor on it is not required, even in California. I was a pump jockey in California way back when we all thought that gas could NEVER get over $1.00 per gallon. Then one night the rep from Mobil came out and cut another hole in the pumps to put a black metal "1" in front of the numbers that moved, and they jimmied up a way to put a "1" in front of the price advertisement signs. The amount of gas available really didn't change much, just everybody was panicked and felt the need to keep their tanks full. Rather than being in the storage tanks at the station, it was driving around in everybodies cars. Remember rationing? I made a nice profit bringing neighbors cars to work to fill up before and after my shift. "Check your oil Ma'am?"
  3. Right as usual, MonoUno. Can't use the local stuff in the international arena. Problem is "BigBird" is a Byron camera flier's nickname cause of a bright yellow second-hand camera suit the guy wears. Hey, Mouth? Listen for this line when you meet TallGuy: "You ever done it with a guy you had to climb?"
  4. Geez. TG is the coverboy for the Byron Boogie. Hey, Kev, how much did that date with you auction off for? Maybe Bets can sell you again for DZ.com!?
  5. Excellent suggestion. Thank you. There's one available there, but it's going for $75. I was willing to go that high, but 50% over retail is about my limit. I can wait a couple of weeks, I've got nothing big pending.
  6. Nah, Q, I'm lucky I got away with just busting the switch at the plastic base that plugs in to the camera. I was going after an inside hanging shot of a friends 4000th jump. Got it. Then the formation funnelled and my helmet got bashed. The plug broke, but the pins inside the camera are OK. But nobody has a replacement switch. DAMMIT.
  7. ZERO appearances at Byron!
  8. And neither B&H, nor Calumet has them in stock. Any suggestions? JP
  9. Nice! Whatcher number? Now you know everything!
  10. Great thread, with lots of great genre knowledge on display. I can only imagine that our Arthur is actually sitting in his underoos with nothing else on but that helmet setting the lights up 'just so' so that he can look supercoolio in his new icon. As for 2001, what an epic film. Especially the attention to detail regarding science. I'll never forget, it was re-released to the big screen in 1979 or 1980, and I took a date to see it and she slept through the whole thing. No second date.
  11. You know, the funniest skydiving video I ever saw was in the bar at Eloy. It was out takes from blown skydives by Arizona Airspeed, and it might have been a private tape of Girard's. Hilarious stuff and great encouragement because even the very, very best blow it from time to time. It's funny too, cause Girard is way more relaxed and funny in person. With his game face on he's competition incarnate, but as a coach I've never met anybody more optimistic, positive, and encouraging. Actually my tape of the big ways at Eloy is pretty good, if only for the footage of Girard and SkyMonkeyOne nailing out points as they track away at breakoff . Check with the camera fliers at your DZ. Lots of them have private tapes of interesting stuff that they've put together, some of it is better than what's commercially available.
  12. I shoulda figures you were a Leo! Happy Birthday!
  13. Ah, crapdoodle, I tried. You, missy, looked awfully cute racing hand in hand with Yvette off the landing area in order to "beat" Daddy and Camille. Just not fair. I'm old Fun time.
  14. Well, thanks. I had a wonderful weekend and I'll post a travelogue with some pictures. Great weather, great company, and on the best sport-touring motorcyle ever assembled. Had cake and beer last night after a great day of jumping. Got to hang on Chris deBar's 4000th jump hybrid and my Mom even came out to see me land under parachute for the first time. She's seen me jump off roofs and out of trees for most of my life . (OK we can let this one die now )
  15. Dude, that's super. Reunions can be even more stressful than separations, and I'm really glad for both of you that is was a good time. See you both at Eloy. Be prepared to part with a M*therf*cking M*nkey H*t. And bring several bags of Ringers.

    Thanks J.P.

Thanks, Obi-Mac ! You bet you'll see me at Eloy for the Holiday Boogie. Wouldn't miss it!

    Katiebear rocks!

Me, my wife and the girls got a package too. Heck, it got here after Katie did, but I got it for my birthday! Hah! Katie does rock.
  18. Just another example of the sweet, caring you, Lisa. That whole Bytch thing is silly for anybody who knows you. Well, who knows you and can possibly kick your ass. Cheers. Thanks all. It means a lot. Heiniken and Corona, maybe some Guiness.
  19. See you there. We survived about 1000 miles on the scooter. Eat cake. Drink beer. JP
  20. Trade you. I'll show you the private video of my spin-up cutaway if you show me yours. I was just luckier than you. I am very glad you're OK, and have a partner like Cajones looking after you. Godspeed. JP

    Thanks J.P.

DAMMIT! I saw this and thought I had done something magnificent enought to catch the eye of the master. But then, why would he be watching tandem videos? Nice work jp!
  22. Craddle robber.... Have a good one Deuce! Yeah, she was ten when she had our twins. I'll tell you, that was an akward talk with the cops....
  23. BEts, I called when you said to and left my credit card for my team room. I just saw your post and I'm concerned I still have a six space room reserved. Plus I'm old and I get nervous and forget things. XO JP
