  1. That's 'cause I didn't read it. I called him on the BS. or creative editing that's all. Take your points up with Cannuck... he's the one with the lightning argument. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  2. Look at all the words you just typed. Look at the simplicity of my repply: A point was made. You are more likely to be struck by lightning than use a gun to kill in self defense. You may chose to retort with "That's just downplaying". But it remains true. John either read hastily and didn't realise what he was replying to, or thought he could change the original point to ease bashing it. I called him on the BS. or creative editing that's all. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  3. And the root of the matter is society. Please name one other society which has the diversity in backgrounds, religions, races, creeds, colors, etc.... CUT... Already been there in this thread. Canada is by far more multicultural. Toronto is known as the most multicultural city in the world... but it ain't all that violent. (having said that, there have been two recent shootings.... makes me sad. It's nearly unheard of around here) My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  4. But that's the point, then, isn't it? It doesn't matter about guns/knives/poison/whatever, what matters is that there are murderous hearts... And the title of this thread is still "Bowling for Columbine" which, the last time I watched, was not a film about gun control. I've mentioned several times now that it's a shame we can't drag this thread out of the "Guns are Bad" vs. "Guns are superb!" sink-hole that it seems to be stuck in. Fact is, gun-crime is higher in the states because violence is higher in the states. Gun-lovers say "You can kill with a lot more then a gun.".... then I would present that "Table related deaths" (you weren't very specific with that one Michele) are also higher in the States. That more Americans wield the knife, the vase, ... whatever, as a weapon. The sensible say: "It's not the gun, the gun is just 'the tool'. It's the person, the murder. He/she had some problems." Then I would present not that there are more people with problems in the states but that America has a much larger tendency to 'solve' their problems with violence. Let's not ban all guns... let's just ban the word... from this thread. See what you all have to say about why more Americans Shoot eachother every year without blaming "the tool". And let's not be childish. Guns can be used for all sorts of things "Watch me open my bear" -Homer J. Simpson. But they ARE an insrument of death. Let's not miss the forest for the trees, badmouthing Moore for blaming guns. That's somewhat hypocritical I think as the Gun-murder stats used by Moore were only the "tool" of his argument. The man is a marksman for gods sake!.. and a long-term member of the NRA... he's not blaming guns in "Bowling for Columbine". My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  5. According to numerous internet sites, an average of 73 people die each year from lightening. So, what this means is that you are wrong again. Actually, there are twice as many justifiable homicides with handguns, then there are deaths from lightening. And you speak of 'Voodoo Science"? Over 300 people are struck by lightning each year in North America. The annual average of deaths from lightning strike is about 50-80/year yeah. That's almost double your agreed number of 'justifiable homicides' My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  6. [whine]But But - you can't have murder without gunnnnnsssssss[/whine] Oh, sorry, wrong thread. hehe, that wasn't my argument. Is this dude a reason to ban all axes?.... or puppies? My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!

And it was during the filiming of the first Crow. They weren't done and they almost didn't release it. They had to finish filming with a lot of digital stuff and stunt man work. The actual scene where he gets tagged was used. You know the scene where he's standing atop a table and gets wasted by a whole bunch o' bad guys... falls flat backwards and plays dead for a moment before getting back up and taking everyone out? (great shooting scene)? Apparently, it's during this scene that he took the injury, he died later, in hospital. For those of you who know the film well. Do you remember when he's walking down the street on Halloween and sees a bunch of kids in costumes running and giggling? There is a closeup on his face as he smiles at them? You may wonder why they slow it down and eventually pause on a still shot of his smilling mug... It's because this was apparently the last official shot of him before his death. (Other than the one where he gets hurt) My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!

Straight up, straight down yes. Because the projectile will lose all positive (upwards) speed before coming back. I'm assuming more of an arc though. Where, though the vertical component of it's speed dwindles down to nothing before picking up in the opposite (downward) direction, it keeps a certain horizontal component at all times. No matter how minute this horizontal component, it keeps the bullet 'flying', and thus, the riffling would keep it pointed into it's relative wind... like a football. Once fired at 45 degrees, it does not keep this attitude, or angle of attack if you will, but slowly turns to assume the everchanging direction of flight. A fired bullet is aerodynamically stable so long as it keeps going. It has a small end and a fat end. Am I wrong in this thinking? My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!

I was a little sceptical myself, reading that the bullet had penetrated the entire skull of the victim (Hmmm, can we call him 'victim'?. It almost sounds too forgiving) The only difference between your experiment, and actually firing bullets into the air though is the riffling. We know it's all about air friction/resistance... otherwise, the bullet would return to it's point of origin at exactly the same speed it left. Your bullets were spinning madly about any (possibly all) axis (That must have been a whicked-cool visual). You've got to ask yourself if a bullet fired straight into the air, is exposed long enough to air resistance to stop it rotating around it's longitudinal axis (rifling)? If, at the top of the tradjectory, the bullet is still riffling, it will turn around and fall back pointing downards as oppose to spinning all about. This increases the threat of the returning bullet in two ways. 1) you know it's going to strick 'point-first', as the bullet is designed to do. and 2)It will be able to pick up much more speed coming down straight and vertical then it would just 'freefalling' and spinning randomly. If it can dent the hood of your car, it can hurt ya. Anyhooo, back to making fun of the NRA... whoops! I mean KKK Of course I'm only rasing you man. cool? My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  10. But "Black" is in again! lol It's okay to call blacks black isn't it?.. At least that's the last I heard. "Naaaaaaw! It would be just fine!"
  11. I'll give this the ol' "GRET-SKI!" cheer. That's just retarded. How can one nation suffer so much from both Desensitisation AND Oversensitivity? My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  12. Wow J, that's a great ultra-shot! Does this mean you don't want to know the sexe? Good show man, I can't wait to see the little tyke/tykette

  16. Oh I would vote this one of the three. I'm not a big fan of the assymetry either, my eyes don't know where to focus! hehe. It's done well on this one though. Looks good. Wings eh? Check mine out (I know I know... I post it every chance I get ) My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!

I see where you're going with that. But that's actually what had me smiling. Whatever children were present had large potential as future Klan members... hopefully, though traumatising, a spectacle such as this might be enough to keep them from perpetuating their parents hate. It may work, I'm no longer a Baptist. Why? Did your Baptist folks kill someone before your virigin childhood eyes in an act of pure redneck stupidity? My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!

I would agree... However, it's surprizingly not that obvious. It has been the topic of a few threads here even, whether or not a bullet fired into the air could mame or kill someone it falls back down unto. I say, fire a shot in the air and it's kinetic energy coverts to potential energy as it reaches the top of it's tradjectory. All that potential energy converts right back to kinetic as the bullet accelerates back downwards.... In this guys case, the energy lost due to friction with the air was not enough to prevent him from injury. Wonder what type of round it was... likely, it hadn't stopped rifling. Darwin Award! 22. Not racist at all! The sats don't lie... but how does it get to be that way? That's the golden question. Sure, now we're getting somewhere... ghettos/hoods, welfare (well-work for release welfare) So it's not the skin but the living condition... so why are all the blacks in such poor living conditions? What puts and keeps all these black families in poverty? This is much like the arguing we've been doing over guns. "It's not the guns that kill."... "I know, guns are inanimate so it must be the people. Why do people kill eachother so much in the U.S.?".... "It's not the guns that kill." Careful there. Just like flipping a coin 99 times and getting 'heads' doesn't change your chances (50/50) of getting 'heads' on the 100th flip, so the fact that 43% of arrested violent crime perpetrator were black doesn't change the violent tendencies of the one black man standing next to you at work... or sitting next to you at a restaurant... or..... Again, I would present your stats as a symptom of the problem and not any indication of the source. Vicious circle? My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
  23. Yeah, I was going to say how nice it looks with your rig. Beute Suite man
  24. That was my FIRST thought when I saw this pic. Mine too! Hehe, should make this a "Post your sexy rig pics" thread for all the colour blind. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
