Space ball at 55 jumps... Now thats pretty damn liberal
-
Correct me if Im mistaken, but I dont think you can take stills while recording video. Frame grabs you may take later ofcourse...

I drilled a small hole behind the D-box where I could take the cameye cable inside the helmet. Then I just chose a place where I drilled another hole (bigger) to exactly fit the button and even though the button fit very tightly in the hole I hot glued it to keep it there. As the cable still runs inside the helmet (under the padding ofcourse) it is easy to bring the LED in the front.

I have been under the impression that Aerodyne handles the PISA customer care nowadays...
-
I cant tell wich PISA canopy you are jumping, but I had pretty much the same deal happening for me when I lenghtened my brakelines on my earlier canopy. I kept having some hard openings also after relining the canopy. Anyhow I dont see why lenghtening brakelines would cause this, since it is done always under the brake locking loop so it doesnt affect the brakeline lenght on opening.. If you are jumping Hornet like I did. I recommend you let your rigger modify your slider. (pocket or change it to a bigger one)

Carry the Rig on international Flights
BMFin replied to fraja's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
NOT ! Those only have importance in the US... -
Me too... I have PC 120 now and it works good, but I would definetly go PC 350 if I was about to buy a cam now... (used I mean) I think PC 1000 has been reported to have too many problems so I choose 350

Carry the Rig on international Flights
BMFin replied to fraja's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
When going thru screening you will never know if the screeners are going to let you thru. I have never seen that skydiving rigs would be banned as a carry on item in any regulations. (IATA, ICAO, any national regulations) However Screeners often dont know how to handle this and they might not let you thru. After that theres not much to do. I guess. When going thru screening in US it is allowed to take your rig as a carry on. See Chapter Section 17.2 of Version 4.0 of the Screening Checkpoint Standard Operating Procedure. If encountering a screener that does give you problems, insist that they rewiev the Screening Checkpoint Standard Operating Procedure Since you were asking about international flights you will never know what will happen. What I would do is that I would arrive early and have time to go back and check the rig incase it turns out impossible to take it as carry on.. Also I would like to point out that some airlines have made an issue about the weight of the rig, since some airlines allow less weight as a carry on.. Good luck. -
Right on...I was using "sports" for a while on my PC-9. I was getting vertical smear on every sunset jump (see pic). I´m on "beach&sky" now and it´s fine... Cheers, Alvaro yeah.. but thats not even bad... On another thread boyfalldown posted an example of a nice vertical smear you get with the sports mode. ENJOY!! It did ruin one of my tandem videos also... After that I have never used it...

If you count that to a 20 year loan its 87$ / hour + interests and other expenses (with the same numbers as u gave...) 5,000,000$ / 20 / 12 / 30 / 8 = ~87$ Sure there are lots of other expenses like you said, but the loan it self doesnt make nearly as much as you said... EDIT: can you explain me how did you come up with your calculations ?

I know slinks are made of spectra I never claimed them to be dacron. I thought Piisfish might be intrested to see this discussion also since his logic behind the question was based on the issue that " they are different material" .
-
you mean spectra? No I mean dacron ...
-
If I remember correct sport program causes vertical smear at least on my PC-120. So I never use it anymore.. What I have used lately is beach&ski...
-
There was a debate here whether vectran would cut thu dacron.. I guess best would be to ask PD if they have tested this and what were the results... I assume they have found it to be safe. Also slinks have been used with vectran for a while already.. EDIT: fixed the link

Commercial air travel with a parachute
BMFin replied to jpsmith's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
From CATSA website : "Parachute-related equipment, such a gas cylinders, are classified under dangerous goods, thereby prohibited from both carry-on and checked baggage" Gas sylinders ? What are those ? -
Not going between the sun and the subject ??

Commercial air travel with a parachute
BMFin replied to jpsmith's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Travelling in the states has been pretty easy since it is especially approved by TSA. Sometimes the screeners havent known this and it has taken some tome for them to get a supervisor to check the regulations, but even that is not so common. Allthough it is very different in different parts of world.. I have not heard yet that taking a rig as carry on would be forbidden anywhere (correct me if Im mistaken) But what can you really do when the screener in Paris wont let you trhu and says its not allowed ? Im pretty sure he will not care a cats ass what TSA thinks about the issue.. So my advice is if travelling outside US be prepared (with time and a suitcase) to be able to take it as checked baggage.. -
I was already asking on the other thread if someone could upload it to skydivingmovies or youtube or similar... Tnx
-
Care to lighten me up a little on this ?
-
Ok.. For some reason I thought normal PD slinks were to be used once only. So is this not true ?
-
Ok, I did try to search, but couldnt really find what I wanted. So the question is : What are my different options in terms of reusable soft links ? I guess PdF has and PD maby nowadays ? Tnx !

So are you saying that the reason for the price are the investments made at the start ? the figures mentioned in your link didnt sound that high to me... Couple of millions here and there. Small potatos.. To me it just looks like the markets are simply Oligopolistic.
