Harry I agree. Freeflying is dead In CSS maby !!
-
You are being sarcastic right ?
-
And all the riggers who knew about this just kept this to themselves ?
-
What exactly do you mean by this?
-
Why cant you mount it "lenghtwise" ? (parallel to the longer sides of the flat top.,.)
-
Did it look like this Note: Photo is taken and posted by someone else than me...
-
Could you clarify that a little please? What is a wrap in this context ?

Yeah.. thats how it is in Finland. All the DZ´s are clubs where no one gets paid for their work. This is due to some taxation, and other legal issues wich would higher the expences of skydiving critically.. AFF, Tandem, Vidiots get an additional free jump, but for IAD the free jump, after throwing out the students, is the only salary they get. Even the pilots fly our twin otter for free.. Utti is a nice place! However these were shot in Hanko which IMO is even nicer. Its a narrow peninsula where you have the baltic sea on both sides..

Took my first photos last weekend here in Finland. I should have propably used AI servo in order to get more photos focused correctly.. Anyways, a few came out ok..

I dont know whats the most tandems in the same load. Anyways a year back in empuria they had an Otter & a Beech99 for regular jumps and a skyvan only for tandmes for some time.. So the skyvan was flying tandems only loads the whole day.. I guess they easily jump more than 100 tandems in a day many days a year..

Ok, sounds reasonable. Cya in Hanko in June !

Brian, I have also been folding my bridle similar to this so that it comes out nice in case of a horse shoe. One thing comes to my mind though.. Why wouldnt you fold the bridle against the ZP rather than in between the mesh ? IMO there are two downsides to folding between the mesh: -The mesh of your PC will wear quickly since it creates small amount of friction on the mesh every time you throw your PC. (if you fold it against the ZP theres much less friction as the bridle unfolds) -Also in a horseshoe situation the ZP will allow the bridle to come out even smoother What do you think ?

Nice one !! But why would you forget the limewedge !!

The way I see it is that the meter is actually functioning like it is supposed to. (shows more less the right altitude) It looks like he starts the bad swoop with long and aggressive double fronts. Hes losing the critical altitude therefore and ending up in the corner at the end. The canopy obviously has very short recovery arc and IMO therefore actually less forgiving in low 180´s I see it that it may be that using digital altimeter is one of the factors that led up to this situation. However it is not the reason why he bounced..

Just when I thought I'd seen it all... Helmet fell off.
BMFin replied to lewmonst's topic in Photography and Video
Yeah.. One very talented vidiot built two big handles on hes helmet only to take a grip on them while deploying. He was jumping a 15+ kilos on hes head so no wonder. Taking grip on your helmet is totally different thing than tilting your head down while deploying. -

I strongly disagree.. Under no circumstances would I want to have anything else than a straight spine alignment on opening.. -

Holding your head down near chest during deployment is a bad idea. -> In case of a hard opening this could cause you serious spinal injury.. Intresting thread anyways.. I wonder how ofter people have lost their helmets due to the cutaway systems on their helmets. (cutaway system malfunctioning of someone opening it accidently) -
In case ur asking me, I have no Idea.. Top 10 I assume anyways..

In terms of jumps per year I understand Eloy is the biggest in the world. Second biggest is empuria in spain. (This is just hearsay so someone correct me if im wrong)

Took a look at one of the reviews quickly and it said: "you can do 60fps for 1 second or 30 fps for 2 seconds, 20 fps for 3 seconds, etc." I guess no SDHC card is fast enough ... Not much use for it in skydiving IMO
-
Yes I agree. This would be the way to do it in theory. (if you manage to obtain accurate data of the winds in different altitudes during the actual jump.)
-
Its not really that easy, since you would need to know the exact winds at different altitudes in order to come up with any conclusions of a efficient track in terms of altitude loss for example..
-
Good flat track is always slower than belly to earth terminal. Some people can actually reduce their vertical speed close to 60% while flat tracking

So you are saying XF 99 is about the same size as XF2 109 ? Is this a fact ?
