  1. Just called them... they're flying the Super Twin Beech. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  2. You can get relatively thin wind proof gloves at most sporting good stores. They're all you'll need to keep your hands warm, without the bulkiness of ski gloves. I got mine at an army surplus store for about $30. I've worn them on plenty of winter jumps here in CO. I've also done plenty of jumps with latex gloves under thin gloves and that works pretty well too. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  3. It's looking like Tennessee Skydiving out of convenience/distance.
  4. [replyIf you give people a financial incentive to carry more stuff on, they will. Doesn't matter... you can still only have 2 (legitimate) carry-ons, just put ONE under the seat. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  5. I fly Frontier, I always sit at the front of the plane, and usually board last. I fly frequently enough. No, the main reason is that people are inconsiderate and they don't want to take up any of their precious leg room with their own f'n purse or hand bag. It's simple, if you have 2 carry-ons you put one under the seat! The people that hold the lines up and tend to have problems are the ones that don't have their shit together and try to bring on stuff that has been prohibited for the past 9 years now, or have too big of a carry-on, or think they can walk through the metal detector with their hat or coat on, or wait until the last second to take their kids shoes, belt, jacket off etc.... Example: "What's that....? oh you didn't know you had to have your liquids in a separate, clear zip-lock baggy... Idiot!" "What do you mean I can't carry-on my bottle of water.... it's not even open." Passengers themselves are the main reason for hassles at the security check-point not the checkers. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  6. I reckon it was to have the Tandem Pilot chute out to get a certain bit stable before deployment. That was my thought... didn't re-watch the video, but I'm pretty sure he was stuck on his back when he threw the drogue. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  7. That's not what I'm saying... but I definitely don't think things are as BAD as they're made out to be right now. Fact is, until they come up with the 'perfect world' for everyone system... we're going to have to settle for something.... like it or not. What pisses me off more than anything is the fuckers that bring on 2 carry-ons and put BOTH of them in the overhead bin so there's no room for anyone else. Every time I get to my row and see the bin full, but no one seated in the row, makes me want to take their shit out, put it on the floor and piss on it. So yeah there's things that piss me off, but security is not one of them. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  8. Again, really?? Listen to yourself... I disagree, they've found that terrorists can blow a large hole in the fuselage with just over a 3oz mixture. But hey, barely worth the deterrence if you can't have your bottle of water from home. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  9. Big difference between making someone throw away their shampoo or mouthwash or putting their hands in your pants. Yes they do that. They don't reach in and grab you, but they are putting hands under your clothes. My point is, if they bitch about something as minuscule as that they will bitch about anything. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  10. Yeah and most likely 99% of people would have said that exact same thing before 9-11. I would have been one of them. So what is more of a whiny bitch? Being so afraid of the terrorist you will tolerate the illusion of being made safe or bitching about the illusion. . Personally I'm not at all affraid of flying.... but we obviously need some screening measures in place. I'm just sick of people bitching and moaning about anything and everything. Someone's mad because they wouldn't let you carry on your 4oz container of liquid??? Well shit, where have you been for the past 9 years? You didn't think to put it in your checked baggage? Tough shit, you should have known better so quit bitching about it. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  11. Yeah and most likely 99% of people would have said that exact same thing before 9-11. I would have been one of them. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  12. Yeah, it's SOOOO bad, it's boarder-line torture. Frankly you made my point above. . No... the problem is too many whiny bitches not allowing the currently implemented measures to be performed in a thorough and proper way. Something needs to be in place.... what do you propose?? *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  13. I agree... but unfortunately the US is full of self-righteous assholes with nothing better to do than bitch about anything and everything. Fact is, you increase security and people get all pissed off... you decrease security and others get pissed off. People will ALWAYS find something to bitch about when it comes to airport security. You can't profile, you can't pat-down, you can't scan, people bitch about taking their shoes off, they bitch about liquid carry-on restrictions, and on and on and on... *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  14. And if a person has tried it... Do they now get to have an opinion on it? This is dropzone.com, I think we ALL know that doesn't matter. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  15. hahahaha... yeeeeah. that's probably just around the corner. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  16. I'm not surprised to see so many shooting this down... But so far I see, some that have either tried this or seen it done numerous times and say it works... vs others that have never tried it or likely seen it routinely used, but yet 'know' it doesn't work. It's definitely unorthodox, but don't bash it until you try it. On the other hand, I won't be trying it any time soon. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  17. I've used many different HR monitors, mostly Polars, but my favorite happens to be Sports Instruments. They are great monitors and you get more features for your $$ than with a Polar. There are quite a few models but here's a link for one I just did a quick search on. http://www.thatshealthy.com/Sports_Instruments_Pro_7_p/sports%20instruments%20pro%207.htm *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  18. Thanks for all the replies... I have some research to do before I leave.
  19. "Two American citizens detained and searched in April by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents filed a legal claim against the agency Monday alleging ethnic stereotyping and racial profiling. Arquimides Bautista, 20, of Aurora and Rosalba Artimas, 46, of Littleton were confronted by ICE agents who questioned their citizenship while they were on their way to an Amway convention in Omaha. ICE spokesman Carl Rusnok said 36 of the 42 passengers on the bus were in the U.S. illegally and the agents suspected the bus was being used to smuggle people." http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_16623614 You gotta be f'n kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *I am not afraid of dying... 20. Yep, this is what I was trying to say, almost exactly as in the pic I attached, only without you feet under your butt. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  21. Pat-downs when used should be done thoroughly and professionally. If there is anyone anywhere that is performing a pat-down in an unprofessional manner then they should be fired. However, a proper pat-down does require checking all areas including the groin and chest, but it can still be done professionally and by a same sex agent. Regardless, even when done professionally 100% of the time there will always be someone that feels as though they were 'violated'. EVERYONE who goes to a Broncos game at Mile-Hi stadium gets a pat-down before entering. If you don't wish to be patted down then you don't go to the game. Same should go for flying a private airliner. There is no reason why there can't be a thorough screening process that can be implemented professionally for all to abide by. Whether it be at the airport, a stadium event or otherwise. The pat-down may not be the best method for a body search, but something does need to be in place. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  22. Get a Z1... Comfortable and completely FF friendly. I'm sure a lot of people that have the OA3 will defend it, but it's one of the shittiest full-face helmets on the market.. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  23. yeah... daffying your legs will help slow you down (see pic). You may not want your feet as under your body as I have in the pic, but it will definitely slow you down and works well for small rate adjustments. Give it a try. Hope it helps. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  24. Think I called them earlier? Might be closer than I thought, about 75 miles from Nashville. Thanks, I'll look into it some more tomorrow. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  25. Thanks for the reply... unfortunately those are all 2+ hrs from Nashville and some closer to 3+ hrs. Just a little too far for me on this trip. SkydiveAST looked the most promising with nice cheap jump tix and probably the most fun jumpers, but is 3 1/2 hrs from Nashville. Oh well... anyone in Nashville want to get lunch? *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
