  1. Going to be in Nashville this weekend and want to know the closest place to go jump. I got online but I'm having a difficult time figuring out where to go. Can anyone help? I went to both nashvilleskydiving.com and skydivenashville.com both websites blow and don't mention anything about location or distance from Nashville. My guess is that they are vendors and not DZs. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  2. Seriously though, what do you know about it? Have you been exposed to priveleged information? Are you nuts? We invaded a defenseless country for no reason. Apparently, you were not paying much attention to the news much after 10 Sep 01. Iraq is connected to September 11th how? It wasn't... Iraq posed it's own suspected security threats at the time. No need for any connection to 9-11. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  3. "Probablys" and "likelys" aren't quite cutting it for a lot of people when they should know EXACTLY which liner it was. I'm not saying it wasn't a jet, just not sold on "likely America West Airlines Flight 808 from Hawaii to Phoenix" I haven't even read/heard anything that confirms exactly which direction the aircraft was flying, has anyone else.? In the video it appears to be flying away from the chopper off the Cali coast not toward it. ?? *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  4. I'm not convinced by that pic, and the video (obviously with thousands of more frames) doesn't have that same appearance. If I was there and saw it flying over head from W to E I would also be convinced it is a comercial plane flying as stated... It just doesn't look that way in the video. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  5. Look at the video/pics... there is sun glare only on the right side of the contrail. If the aircraft was flying straight west to east at that atitude the bottom of the contrail would be reflected with sun glare, not just the right side. This gives the impression that the aircraft is actually flying at a more vertical angle, or certainly not directional from W to E. *I am not afraid of dying... 6. Sounds like an airplane to me. Wendy P. Hawaii is 2390 miles from California. Yeah... I'm sure you could see an airplane contrail from 2400 miles away.... ETA: The aircraft was moving AWAY from the California coast. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  7. He 'saw' exactly what he was LOOKING for... *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  8. Lately we have been attaching at least one head down person to just about everything... trains, gorillas etc... I'd like to have some new stuff to launch out of the Otter????? Anything wacky anyone can come up with? *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----

  14. FAIL That was obviously something that was taking off or launched. No way that was a private or commercial plane, and it's definitely not just flying 'horizontally'. All those contrails in that slide show have the contrail coming from over the horizon and passing overhead. Nothing like seen in the Cali video. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  15. No demo video...!? That's disappointing!! *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  16. (CBS/AP) The Pentagon Tuesday said it was trying to determine if a missile was launched Monday off the coast of Southern California and who might have launched it. Spokesmen for the Navy, Air Force, Defense Department and North American Aerospace Defense Command said they were looking into a video posted on the CBS News website that appears to show a rocket or some other object shooting up into the sky and leaving a large contrail over the Pacific Ocean. The video was shot by a CBS affiliate KCBS' helicopter, the station said Tuesday. "Nobody within the Department of Defense that we've reached out to has been able to explain what this contrail is, where it came from," Pentagon spokesman Col. Dave Lapan said. "So far, we've come up empty with any explanation." http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/11/09/national/main7037857.shtml?tag=strip *I am not afraid of dying... 17. Ummmm... How many private/commercial airplanes do you see that take off like a rocket with flaming engines???? AND The military, so far saying they know nothing about it... *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  18. UFO? Mystery Missile? WTF was it over California??? Short story and video: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/11/09/tech/main7038238.shtml *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----

  20. hahaha!! That's awesome! Did it get vertical at all? Biggest tube I've been in is a 6-way, but I know they've launch some 9-ways out of the Otter. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  21. It's supposed to repel water and other substances from the fibers.. that's the whole point. USE IT!!! Just try a small test area first in case the blue cap stuff is blotchy like someone else said. I use the Red cap Scotch Guard and it works like a charm when I later use lite soap and water to wipe off my dirty rig. The dirt and even some small grease stains I've had came right out. THIS is the 'red cap' Scotch Guard. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  22. I don't disagree with you. But in reading the posts it sounds like it started some time after the jump if not the next day. You would definitely notice riser slap immediately after the jump. Trauma such as getting slapped in the face causes redness, swelling right away not hours later or the next day... Maybe they just got wind burned...? The ear thing is almost 100% likely due to inner ear/ sinus issue. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  23. You've obviously never done a tandem. Riser slaps happen, especially with the "creative" body positions that students tend to use. Just 1... but I've seen hundreds of students after their tandems and not one riser slap to the face. Besides, riser slap is usually pretty obvious and also leaves abrasions on the skin. From the description, and being the both of them just seems unlikely is all. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  24. Sinuses or swollen glands!!!!!!!!!!!! If the 2 of you have been making out then I agree with some of the above... mumps. or shared a drink for that matter. I doubt the riser slap... especially on a tandem, but I guess it's not impossible. *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
  25. It looks like concrete or cinder block brick, behind what isn't even true 'dry wall'. If that is the case I would strip all that shit off and expose the concrete or brick, then paint it if you want. You don't need dry wall to cover it and a lot of people are intentionally doing a more industrial look these days. ETA: Either way that is not simply patchable, it would look like shit and likely bubble or peel quick. Strip it all off!!!! *I am not afraid of dying... I am afraid of missing life.* ----Disclaimer: I don't know shit about skydiving.----
