they do, they just dont give it to you.. i seem to remember a story about a bank robbery where an account was set up to collect all the fractions of .01 that occured during interest calculations...mounts up after a little while... Seen Office Space a few too many times? you think writers actually make up good ideas on thier own??? nothing new under the sun actually i just looked up the qoute and they were talking about hearing about it too..i'm sure its become urban legend material but a 1999 movie is not the source i heard it from in 1984ish...for some reason i what to say it was a german bank anyway. Baby (one of my roommates birds) is a Citron..Xaos (the head down nut case, definately a freeflier when you see him hang for 10 min upside down.) is just a regular yellow crested Cockatoo..very different personalities and voices... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

do we know that it doesnt?? really? i firmly believe in letting animals go thru at least part of the maturation process before subverting them to my convenience. i prefer animals that have very distinctive personalities. can an animal that is spayed/neutered before puberty actually be considered a member of either sex?? I can say i have personally noticed the difference in personality in cats that were fixed before/after puberty. they often seem to be missing some defining behaviors..(some good, some bad from my human stand point) dont get me wrong I believe you should be able to raise your animals (within reason) however you wish..i just find somethings unnecessarily 'cruel' ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

i dont at the moment (travel to much still) but i do ussually have dogs and cats..no i dont keep my cats inside (nor do i declaw them) or put my dog on a leash (uless required where i'm going) dogs can be trained to heel. Cats learn to survive or they dont. I try to live in places where it reasonably safe to let cats out..(of course i wouldnt have a cat at Eloy, it would just be prey to the coyotes) Loss is a fact of life. I want my pets to have as full a life as i can give them, not measured by the length of time i have with them (long may it be), but by the quality of the time we spend together or apart. ps..fish arent pets they are decorations ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

while those are all good reasons they are also for the convenience of the humans..i bet if we could ask the bird its opinion, it would rather be able to fly. imagine going thru life with a horse hobble on your ankles, yes you can still function, still live a reasonable, productive life, but you cant run, and wont ever know the joy of running. you could even argue that running isnt as much a natural part of life for humans as flying is for birds.....after all if they weren’t pets they would be flying for however long their life might last.. i guess its a quality of life thing with me..knowing the limited flight i get to experience i cant imagine taking it away from someone else to make them better pets.. don’t get me wrong Xaos & Baby (my roommates birds) are pretty cool (for birds) but it makes me sorta sad everytime one of them does its sad flailing flare to the ground… ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Bill thats nothing. the American military has ongoing experiments on the effects of DHMO on soldiers (including me!! hmm i need to file for disability). hmm i'm confused (not unusual) so when i slow down and sink to hang with the rest of the flock i'm not tracking anymore?? less flat than my usually floaty self.. you know i never much liked birds as pets...my roommate has two that are kinda cool. weld that well dave well... its all about currency, much like skydiving.....my father taught me how to weld when i became interested in scuplture in high school...2 weeks later he's yelling at me for doing overhead welds (which he hadnt taught me yet... and i wouldnt dream of trying now..) welding is the only part of auto shop i ever miss...hmm maybe thats the release i need lately... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
