gyms do have wierd lighting sometimes..looks plenty bright, but the camera doesnt think so.. we had to set up spotlights in our gym to get "stop action" photos for a newpaper article on fencing..and you couldnt even look to the left side of the strip or you'd see spots..made for some crappy fencing, but the pictures looked good...B&W film seemed to not require as much light to get the same effects. of course this was all pre-digital 35mm stuff.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

i think it depends on how you run, if you always run your most effecient gait then i think your right because your averaging your stride with your turn over..i like to focus on 'bounding' alot i love those jumpy shoes with the elevated toes they really helped add distance and burst to my lunge when i was fencing to work the calves by pushing off... i once 'ran' a PT test skipping the whole way..2 miles in 15ish min..just to prove i could. midnight runs rock but lately i've been places id rather not try them i would rather run a fast 2 to 4 than anything. any longer than that and i get bored.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

hmm have to say it was a Team Flail 10 way RW jump..now i hadnt been on an RW jump in quite a while so when we exited i sorta instinctively went headdown, paniced and rolled across the entire base while trying to recover...of course this jump had the privilege of being documented by M. McGowan who of course got a lovely full color high detail shot of me nearly standing on the back of Mark Kirkby while he casually pushed me off to save the base.. even an airspeed suit cant help my RW skills, just let me dive and dock, that i can handle

damn good times...i just did 4 miles (rather impromptu i had to drop a truck off and didnt have a ride back soo...) 37 min ( used to be able to do 26-30)and discovered i need new shoes too...and someone to kick me in the ass..i hate running, until i'm done with it then the feeling is wonderful when i was averaging 25-30 miles a week, my shoes lasted about six months before i needed new ones... any advice on new brands/models? i used to love my asics but things have changed alot since i was running seriously ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

actually it is my understanding that both those teams are on "hiatus", however most of their former members (and several others) are coaching with the Skydive U concession. I got some really great HD coach jumps with Sean McCormick (AFI) there before i left.. I know Jeffro (Xaos swoop team) was doing FF coach jumps too... theres so much great talent wandering around that DZ that its easy to find a coach that fits your personality ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

one could say that skydiving is at least TWICE as safe as BASE. there is no second chance in a BASE jump, and time is rather short when compared to a skydive. yes, i am making that implication. dude you SOOOOOO need to go read the actual laws sometime..if its on the books its a law, even if no longer enforced and most break one inane law or another every day without realizing it. so next time you sneeze in public and dont say excuse me for example just remember your now a criminal...btw way still broke the law in your example the cop just decided not to treat you like a criminal that day. edit: not to be an ass (as might be assumed since we've disagreed on this subject before) I certainly respect your intention to be a "completely law abiding citizen", and its not my bag, but some of the things that have become laws ludicrous. i would say its better to attempt to be a concienceous (sp & i'm lazy today) citizen and respect the intent of the law not the actual "written rules" BASE is another example of exercising individual freedoms in a manner that (ideally) endagers no one else. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

1000$ seriously I do wear one. Students should be required to as they do not have the knowledge to make an informed choice. Once they have been sanctioned by whatever body governs the activity (driving,flying etc) the manner in which they do it so long as it does not endanger others should not be restricted by an unnecessary regulation. not wearing a helmet, seatbelt or aad endangers no one else. unnecessary?? you might ask? absolutely. a helmet, seatbelt or AAD is not necessary to survive any of those activities under normal conditions. additional precautions taken should be at the discretion of the individual. possible troll bait and in the wrong forum(imo), but in my mind its very simple. Its my life. Wearing a seatbelt, or a helmet, or an AAD is an additional safety measure to help save your life in the event of unforseen circumstance. Using these devices is the smart way of doing things, but its my life to risk, not yours, not anyone elses. mandating additional precautions is a form of tyranny, over the only thing i can ever really be said to possess. no excuse nessesary. btfu. defending your rights as an automotive projectile

just to point out the straw man argument growing again.. those conditions you mention are created because its illegal, not because of any inherent property of the substance. If your tracing root causes the governments position actually creates that environment. as to "ratting" on someone I am a firm believer that things should be handled at the lowest level possible. If i see someone who acts or appears unsafe (in any environment) I would certainly say something to them (if only to avoid unnecessary drama). alright to clarify my position then since it doesnt seem to have come across very well I obey all laws I find to be fair and just. I will break any law that i do not find fair or just that interferes with the exercise of my personal rights. IF the goverment decided that my actions were so offensive to its conduct as to send its minions (people doing their jobs) to prevent me from continuing to do so, and thereby take away my ability to sleep under the stars and wander where and when i wish (freedom) i use any and all means at my disposal to prevent that from occuring up to and including killing anyone trying to imprision me. as i said a while ago (the initial thread is certainly about MJ on the DZ) which i think most have agreed is a bad thing since as a business a DZ is not in a position to take a political stance not directly related to the conduct of that business however we have long since moved beyond the original topic and into the root causes for the problems that spawned this post ie. Freedom of choice and self determination.
