yeah but cell phones are an easy target..so yet another ignorant public official can point and say "i did something!!!! see i made a difference please re-elect me because i have no other marketable skills" ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

you sure?? i'm pretty sure they had the same commander.. (i used to cut his yard) you did have to leave base to get from one side to the other but i thought it was considered the same installation.. (sorta the way there is no Gunter AFB now..its Maxwell Annex. twas a sneaky way to reduce the number of bases without actually changing anything during the drawdown..) ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

not recently but yeah i do from time to time.. picked up an Xbox while i was trapped up here to keep me entertained...GR is better on a PC.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

I'd have to say GR has a much better physics model than SOF2..i had to take SOF 2 back it was so bad...everyone else is still playing catch up with Clancy when it comes to realistic FPS games... i'm playing onlin e a good bit in the evenings when i'm back in PHX..but that wont be for a while now.. (and i prefer the variety of AvP2) ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Don't mean to go on a tangent here, but, Sarge were you at the barracks in Beirut when that happened? Reason I ask, not long after that happened I was pulling badly injured Marines off Blackhawk helos at the AF hospital in Weisbaden, West Germany.. This terror thing has been going a while. Wiesbaden? or do you mean the (now defunct) Hospital on Lindsey Air Station? the one they took the Iranian hostages to? My father was stationed there for 9 years.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

yes...i'm very interested in depending on the dates..i've been looking forward to some tunnel time & coaching for a while, but figured i'd have to wait til PHX's gets built. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

i think they'd have a hard time justifying it as a "denial of Services" since it isnt one (or a few) sources flooding their networks with data to cause a blockage, but a large number of people legitimately attempting contact in order to express their disproval. all at the same time. the problem with celebrity spokes people for any cause is that their opinion is often given more weight than an actual experts simply because their face is more recognizable. and in a democracy its not the quality of your opinion that matters, but the number of people who agree with you (informed or not) ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

this may be OT, (if it is i'll remove it) but this is an analysis attributed to a senior Army official that has been circulating around a bit (i've recieved it from 4 different people (all military) but i cant verify a source so take it for what its worth.

wow your kidding?? that twit actually did something worthwhile?? or was it just the usual 'tourist tandem'? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
oh god yes...those guys are in-fuckin-credible. their Metallica covers are only so so (like many classically trained musicians they play very very literally (even all the little guitar whine ambient effects) a nice tribute but.... Their original material?? WOW "heavier than thou" was one quote i heard about them.. and you should see them play...amazing energy..one dude was actually standing (upright) on his cello while he attacked with his bow...i was floored walking out of that show with several of my 'metal mentors' one of them said "did you hear that? that was the sound of bass cases all over the world slamming shut.." i dream about the sound of thoose cellos sometimes... i was actually just suprised that Tool is now so mainstream that the Late Night band is covering their tunes... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

This is tragic. What with all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person which almost went un-noticed last week. Larry La Prise, the man who wrote/composed "The Hokey Pokey" died peacefully at age 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in ... and then the trouble started..... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

of course it matters! i dont think your average service types really realize exactly what the coast guard does..they think its like militaristic baywatch or something. my uncle was in the Coast Guard for 33 years..(retired as a WO4) lucky sob gets 83%ish of his pay still and every time i talked to him it seemed like his job was a hell of a lot harder than mine (Army Aviation/Intel). as far as my opinion, its quite possibly a necessary evil, yes many people are going to die. my job is to help insure more of the 'right' people do so quickly, in the hopes that it will save larger numbers from giving their lives in the future... i'm rather vague on the urgency of the current timeline (LOTS of senior generals question Bush's as well) but i am well aware that there is more going on than the average person is informed of. I get to see parts of the puzzle, enough to wish to see more, i just dont know if its enough to say go IMO. Still part of my job is NOT to ask questions sometimes... [I]Zen is fomer Army, now a ‘godless’ contractor..same job, more responsibility but MUCH better pay, and less flagpole BS to deal with..

dont wear one then..if you've got a convincing argument it will make little difference... i've gotten out of several tickets in the last 5 years by taking the radar gun to court..in all cases the officers were using it out side of its operating parameters (range, resolution, weather restrictions etc..) but occasionally your going to get caught if you bend the rules to much..a 3 way i was on once all landed out by Shed rd while a cop was giving a guy a ticket...i dont think he realized there was a DZ that close (?!?!) because he kinda freaked out when we landed.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

didnt get a firewire cable yet, but i probably will next week (no firewire card on this laptop anyway)..the USB will work for playing with it right now... lucky me the 3 pack i picked up with it are Sony premiums. they dont have the cassette memory features the manual describes, but i'm not sure how useful those would be anyway, any thoughts? i got an extra battery and a better memory stick (since i'll probably be using it for stills more than anything else in the immediate future... a helmet would seem to be the next major wallet diet plan, and i definitely will be bugging everyone about styles, fit etc.. indeed, its time to add a few steps to my emergency procedures…but I imagine the specifics depend on helmet type, cutaway system etc.? I wont be doing much more than funway freefly filming for a while so .3 will be my first lens after that we’ll have to see….1 step closer to cutting away and becoming a semi permanent dz vidiot…

finally after much searching i found a brick&mortar store that carried them (on sale even) so i blew the last 2 months travel settlement on my beeeeer DV camera, and the 5 year extended warranty time to start collecting pieces to build a camera helmet and fill out my (currently non existent) toolbox so hopefully i'll be playing junior vidiot at boogies in the future... so off the top of your heads what kind of accessory things should I begin acquiring?? any camera fliers willing to drink free beer & answer (lots of)stupid questions grab the guy in the tiger striped pants wherever you see him ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

might as well say "shit happens" and shrug, rather than try to imply destiny (or blame) to any particular divinity.. but then 'shit' isnt used as a security blanket like 'god' is... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

well youve already decided, but i'm with the "other way" crowd. Its just a silly public ceremony, with only the meaning you give it..personally i went out and did something i actually cared about..(started wandering in the Blue Ridge Parkway 3 days before) rather than participate in what was for me the last thing I was 'supposed" to do for the school..."piss off" i say..i went to school for the education, not the social scene or even the piece of lambskin that says i graduated.. i'll rank my memories of the TN mountains against anyones graduation ceremony experiences any day... also have to caveate this with the fact that I KNEW people who were walking and graduating who learned absolutely nothing in 4 years of college and yet their peice of paper is just as good as mine...sad sad sad.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
