if you think chasing girls & hanging off a truck with a parachute (and other equally insane stunts, just because you can) has NOTHING to do with skydiving and skydivers then you havent spent much time at a DZ..oh yeah thats right, you havent... might i suggest you actually get enough jumps to qualify (even if you dont want it) for your A, and perhaps spend say at least 48 hours at a DZ before you make such silly statements about our culture? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

as i said in another thread, its pretty adversarial and comes off as if you already "have all the answers you need" which is never very conducive to learning, and how well you learn has a direct bearing on surviving a skydive nothing in surfing (with the possible exception of tow in to some of those monsters in HI) can have as direct and immediate consequences to your life span as every single jump does. please listen to your instructors with a more open attitude than the one youve displayed here.. good luck, i hope you dont need it.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

well i'm happy to report that South West at SEA at least the TSA screens your bags right when you walk up to the counter to check in, and they have no issues with you locking them after they've been inspected. in addition they list parachutes and Airtec Cypress as allowable carry ons and were more than happy to print that section of the list (in a nice ticket sized printout) for me to take thru security just in case. the stewardess even joked about it during the pre-flight breif..(SW has this comedy routine thing the aircrew does, and she had asked about my shirt..) "smoking is not allowed on this flight however if you wish to light up we will be happy to offer you a seat on the wing...no the skydiver in row 8 cannot volunteer, so put your hand down..."actually woke up when she said this, i was almost asleep

Mike Barber had a completely desert camo rig that i thought was really cool which was how we started talking and how i ended up doing several RW jumps with him right off student status blue skies mike and ive spent a good portion of the last 3 years in DCUs anyway so.. i've always liked the 'cookie dough' better than the pinks and tan the army wears.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
