    no worries. its unlikely i can get away this trip anyway..its to high profile to have a system go down for long and the way work has been lately if i stick around i'll be bored to tears but if i leave all hell will break loose while i'm playing in the sky 4 1/2 hours away... but i'll be back here at least twice this year (unless the schedule changes) so i'd love to come play... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

    did you ever dive to the USS Strength? someone told me it was the closest freighter sunk by a uboat during ww2. Its a great dive! I went there as part of my graduation dive for my SSI license.. i want to get back into scuba, but dont think i can afford two expensive hobbies...might have to make one of them a job instead.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

    if i'm in town i will definitely be in on it, FF, RW or Hybrid.. however i have a hard time planning that far out with the way work is now...i'll drop my boss a note and tell him i need to be in WA then, but thats no guarantee..i'm a slave to the whims of the man for the moment.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

    funny i just had this argument with a friend of mine who is a river guide..shes was telling me all about the flocks of eagles she sees everyday.. they gather at high density feeding points, but your right, when your spliting the terminology hairs eagles dont flock.. unfortunately the old i'm right you/wrong pattern emerged and we couldnt have a rational discussion about it anymore..some times i hate old wounds ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

    its i nice little town, i could see why lots of people retire here, but its pretty much still middle of nowhere for things to do outside of work.. where do you jump? is there a DZ nearby? i didnt bring my rig (12hr/7day shifts wont give me time to play) but i'll be back here on and off for the rest of the year.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

    it could be worse, you could be in the middle of no where Louisiana and all your systems could finally be up and running smoothly so your not likely to get to play hop scotch with trees all day as the blackhawks run you all over hell and back like you did last weekend.... the "maytag man" portion of my job just started....i damn near guarantee it will all keep working all the way thru the weekend and i'll have no good reason for spending the weekend here instead of Perris.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

    well i did AFF at Eloy and so grew up a turbine slut i was over 200 jumps before i did my beer cessna jump and had enough butterflies i did a 'traditional' AFF arch and pull H&P just to be sure... i have to say my anxiety level would have been significantly higher if i had to crawl out on the strut for AFF 1. now i love cessnas throw out a sit, fly it down the hill, roll over and pitch! ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

    exactly. one well placed explosive could kill all the little fish (and generations after them) who simply "love" the oil rig..ive got no real issues with the rig itself, but you really better have some good security measures in place given the potential damage from one serious attack/accident. i'm continually amazed we havent been hit MUCH harder than we have..fortunately the terrorists dont seem to have a real bent for truly creative mayhem. I travel alot and still see huge holes everywhere... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

    indeed, i tell everyone who sends me an email trying to get intouch with me to stay on at least 10 min after its sent because there is a good chance i'll have checked it by then.. even at a small company checking the email should be as basic as answering the phone or picking up the snail mail for whatever admin types they might have... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

    well i have to say i wanted to jump WAAY before i decided to join the army so going airborne was a no brainer..unfortunately i couldnt afford (the time or the money) to start the sport while i was in the army and the feeling had faded by the time i got out..luckly my roommate convinced me to wander down to Eloy on an off weekend.. i have to say i wasnt worried about landing the canopy at all on AFF1, but i really didnt want to, being able to really steer made me realize exactly how much fun the army take out of jumping out of perfectly good airplanes.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

    its not just "generally accepted" its damn near the standard for many industries..i get a great deal of my taskings via email and havent actually talked to my boss in more than a month.. any business thats serious about participating in todays world should have at least ONE employee who checks the company email once a day minimum.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

    I voted "are you crazy? do you know how hot its going to be??" been there, done that..and if thats the promised land god needs to get a clue still you should experience everything you can and i imagine a jewish wedding in israel is an event not to be missed no matter what the threat from small minded psychos... there is no point in being afraid of dying as death will come for everyone. be instead afraid of never living ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

    grrrrrr i wonder if i could sue for artistic plagiarism?? i did this a performance art piece in college during finals week (yes i have pics to prove it) after seeing the cartoon "I cant stand the pressure" the original idea was to hang myself (with a hidden rappel harness) in the 5 story stairwell, but the week before exams some darwin candidate blew his brains out on the stage and the dean told me my work was insensitive to the students...bah. have to get a molly to put in one of the blenders i kept..of course with some of the people i know i'd better take the motor out if i dont want to buy lots of fish.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
