totally agree.. I voted with the skydiver block, but tbh Danica is the hotter... (even if there are nudes of Roberta about 60/40 now.. they should have used 'equitable pictures' for all of them too.. cant say i like the way this poll is set up at all.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

you got that right - and he needs to continue to appeal to the center. He will make a huge mistake trying to recover the far right social conservatives with some Huckabee or equivalent (another form of fiscal liberal, IMO). He'll get them by default, or he's already lost them due to tantrums on their part. No VP choice will change the far extremes at this point. He needs to steal the center further. I doubt it's possible, but Colin Powell could almost make him a shoe-in. I'm pretty sure Powell has said "no way no how".. tinfoilery is that there is 'something on him' that would prevent him from being electable if exposed.. if there is (and depending on who holds its keys) is it enough to paint him ugly even as a vice? Hillary as a vice would sink Obama IMO... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Why high voter turnout isn't necessarily a good thing...

1. This is the basic criteria not the entire. If you cant be bothered to learn to read, who can expect you to be bothered to become informed? 2. See 1. 3. This strawman always comes up.. it would require an amendment, something there is a very well defined process to doing. Since your entire argument is based on "how good our current system is over every other" why don't you trust it? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
It's not politics, it's health... it is politics, individuals make their own health decisions, posting signs that it is a smoking establishment allows you to make that decision (to enter an area where you KNOW that smoking occurs) If you dont want to be exposed then 'vote' with your dollars and go to the establishment with a non smoking environment. If smoking and second hand smoke are acceptable risks to you then eat in/patronize whichever one you wish. using your (and the Government's) logic then, Denny's should also be barred from serving grandslam breakfasts let economics decide who prospers.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

edited for proper perspective...those who believe there is a difference haven't been around the world enough times. all that matters is what you are willing to do for those you care about... nothing else is important at all.. "A rat is a pig is a dog is a boy", hmm? if you care about them absolutely.. if you dont absolutely as well.. YOUR rat doesnt mean anything more to me than your boy does..nor any less ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

oh yea.. forgot about my favorite in the trumpet family.. the Flugelhorn much 'softer smoother sound' than the straight (unmuted) trumpet. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

the change is in how long they STAY in the bars, particularly the restaurant bars. I'll admit to getting used to smoke free bars in Arizona (dont smoke but it doesnt really bother me either) and that being in Texas (where you can smoke almost anywhere) was a bit of a shock again (particularly the number of otherwise hot chicks who smell like cigass) however this should be entirely an economic decision (by the owners and those who 'vote with their dollars) not a political one. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

paraphrasing a cliche' does not make it true.. in actuality an enlightened monarchy is the best form of government for progress, the downside of it is that it easily becomes a dictatorship. being hanged by a dictator vs an ignorant mass makes little difference to the individual. Universal suffrage only works if there is also universal responsibility.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

this is the more important side really.. everyone who cant be bothered to educate themselves about their government, the world and the issues at hand. Sitting in your living room in front of your TV for 18 years shouldnt be the sole criteria to decide how the country runs. The point is to force those who want a say to educate themselves and actually do something (not simply military service as that is to limiting dont create the strawman that I am advocating such a simplistic system) to affect society beyond simply 'sucking off the tit' ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
that meme spread all over the internet pretty quickly... for a while any suicidal action in nearly any game was referred to as a 'leroy' however most people agree that video is a recreation of the actual event, not really enough emotion shown for the flaming threads that started ages ago... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

something along those lines yes, except expanded beyond simple military service, society needs more than soldiers and the soldier experience to guide it. I'm not sure why 'who' is difficult? its the same people who make every law you live under currently. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

Who gets to establish the criterio? You, me, Mike Huckabee, or Bill Maher? this is a silly question.. the government ofc.. the same one who establishes every other criteria you live under in this country. how is more difficult.. who is easy. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

Which qualification should be required in your opinion? And who should be determining which qualifications and whether they are met or not? well that is and has always been the difficult question.. I see no issues with a basic literacy test. If you cannot read you cannot be reasonably informed. Unfortunately this would require 1 (or more) Official Languages.. if you cant read the official language then you really should have no say in the Official Voting process either. beyond that it gets much more difficult, but I would support something that illustrated a basic understanding of history and the current national/world issues. I wouldn't be hard to create a simple test and at minimum would require those who wanted a say in the political system to educate themselves to a minimal level*** tbph I would not be against a system that required X years of mandatory Military/Social Service prior to being allowed a say. Citizenship should be easier, but 'voting citizens' should require a more involved commitment than simply breathing for X amount of time. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
you have to wonder what sycophants in both camps (Clinton and Huckabee) are pushing them given the above 'fact' I agree a Huckabee win will sink the Republican chances, while a Clinton win will sink the Dems. 'conventional wisdom' is that a McCain/Obama race will be one of the few that actually addresses the issues during the campaign.. I'm hoping this happens. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

when has it ever been any different in the modern democracy? Polling laws have usually be used in unfair discriminatory fashions, but when it is to separate the 'informed from the uninformed' I see nothing wrong with them.. simply breathing for 18 years is not qualification enough to decide who should lead. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
money says that wasnt the first time a guy had been on his back... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

not what you are referring to, but it is staggering how many carry ons do not fit the restrictions.. I got into it with one guy (pissed that i moved his bag that he had shoved in sideways taking up nearly 3 times its actual space) when i challenged him ($200) if his bag would fit in the sizing guidelines (my backpack looks larger but easily compresses to fit) he backed down hastily.. the stewardess wasnt happy with me (his bag had to be gate checked right near the time they were getting ready to close) but it was obvious it was oversized and "mine was there first" isnt a defense. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Well, the limit is now one bag instead of two. They are also increasing the extra cost for a bag weighing 51-70# to $100 (each way, of course). I'll be happy to weigh in and pay based on the weight of myself and my bags. ^^this.. weight is weight, if this is to be the policy you should be paying by total weight.. skinny types can pack heavy and heavier types must pack lightly... ofc that wont fly, fat fucks will scream discrimination... if this trend continues (and every indication is that it will) overnighting luggage prior to travel will become an even more lucrative business to be in.. you pretty much have to if you travel with any equipment at all nowdays.. i used to carry my toolkit with me after one got 'lost' (under the TSA's more watchful eyes even) it now adds an extra day or so of planning to simply coordinate that your tools and equipment will arrive.. in my business that cost gets passed on to the government, wasting more tax money ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

you have to love people who take video games to seriously... this is also an old one, but one of my favorites... what people dont seem to realize is reactions like this are exactly why we 'grief' people in games to begin with.. its the 'game within the game' Eve Guy gets pissed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns9oAGnK9CU ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

the entire point is the story and characters, when TV edits destroy the character themselves the story becomes meaningless drivel. Imagine if someone were to do the same ridiculous 'cultural edits' to any number of great stories of the past (including many dear to your heart) would the intent (and the lessons contained therein) remain intact? i seriously doubt it... go find a version of King Lear with the happy ending.. or watch the 'love conquers all' version of Brazil... what you describe as 'choice' is the destruction of meaning and authorial intent. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
